  • Sprayable waterproofing membrane has been considered as a substitute for a sheet waterproofing membrane in a variety of underground excavation works. However, fundamental properties of sprayble waterproofing membrane have not been fully given yet. In this study, a new two-component sprayable waterproofing membrane prototype was developed. In addition, its physico-mechanical properties were measured and compared with those of two kinds of thin spray-on liners where constitutive materials and construction methods are very close to each other. From direct tensile tests, the sprayable waterproofing membrane with elongations at break between 250% and 300% showed much higher ductility than TSLs. However, the sprayable waterproofing membrane had a limitation as a support member since its bond strength and loading capacity was lower than those of TSLs. From three-dimensional X-ray CT images, the porosity of the sprayable waterproofing membrane was estimated to be 26.13%. However, most of pores which might have been generated during membrane curing were not observed to be interconnected but isolated.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the properties of composite systems using polymer cement and epoxy resins for waterproofing and anti-corrosion to concrete structures such as water supply facilities and sewage-works. For the waterproofing and anti-corrosion of concrete structures, there can be required various properties such as absorption capacity and water permeability, adhesion and tensile strength, hair crack-resistance, impact-resistance, repeated low and high temperature test and chemical resistance, soundness for drinking water, soundness for drinking water and etc. In this study these engineering properties of composite systems using polymer-modified mortar and epoxy resins were examined and could be confirmed to satisfy the guidelines of KS. Especially, it was turn out that the adhesion properties was excellent and high crack-resistance up to 1.49 mm will be perform.

  • Asphalt-based waterproofing materials for bridge decks face issues such as softening or liquefaction of the material during the process of pouring hot asphalt concrete on top of the waterproofing layer. This leads to instability and reduced thickness of the waterproofing layer. To address these problems, new solutions beyond the existing materials, including the development and adoption of new materials, are required. Therefore, this study investigates the properties of MMA(Methyl Methacrylate) coating waterproofing material, which meets the basic physical properties for bridge deck waterproofing. We examined the overall quality standards in a system where the substrate concrete, waterproofing material, and paving layer are integrated. The study confirmed the applicability of MMA coating waterproofing material on bridge decks. The results indicate that a stable application of MMA coating waterproofing material for civil engineering structures' bridge decks can be achieved with a mix ratio of hard MMA resin : soft MMA resin : powder = 6 : 34 : 60. Additionally, when using emulsified asphalt with hardening characteristics for the adhesion between the dissimilar materials of MMA waterproofing and asphalt concrete, it is expected to meet the minimum quality standards of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport's 'Guidelines for Asphalt Concrete Pavement Construction (2021.07)'.

  • There are a lot of problem about waterproofing membrane coating for concrete deck of bridge and waterproofing sheets for concrete of deck of bridge because it couldn't confirm waterproofing's defeat after construction. These problems make a waterproofing material damage and condrete deck of bridge damage. So It needs a lot of money for repair work and reinforcement work. Therefor the structure slab of using waterproofing material protect invasion of water. Also, Concrete deck of bridge need a endurance permeability for the reduction repair payment. In this study, An experimental study on the quality standardization test method waterproofing layer on working of live load.

  • A heat and room temperature construction method of asphalt have been mainly applying to rooftop waterproofing in concrete structure, and the rest construction method are sheet, membrane and mortar waterproofing construction method. In particular, joint method in sheet waterproof method is as overlap joint which on being reinforced with fiber and tape, have been applying for job site to mechanical fix using protection disk and anchorage and metal ironwork on the end of sheet. These construction method cause cutting off joint of sheet as behavior of structure according to repairs of sheet itself and thermal conduct, outdoor air environment. In conclusion, we analyzed and examined the application of various sheets and piece ashes about superior 'I' joint which divide from one and the other sheet and progressed about joint construction method of fixing method for overlap.

  • The behavior of pavement and waterproofing layer on the steel bridge deck system under traffic loading was analyzed using a finite element method in this paper. In the finite element analysis, the othotropic steel bridge deck is represented by equivalent plate using solid element instead of shell element and the interface is assumed perfect bonding state. The effects of several parameters such as thickness of deck, Young's modulus of deck, thickness of pavement, different braking loading, and temperature on the stresses and strain in the interface are investigated for bridge deck pavement. The shear stress of waterproof layer increases with decrease of bridge deck thickness and stiffness. The change of shear stress is negligible when the bridge deck thictaess is greater than 150mm and stiffness is greater than $2{\times}10^{5}MPa$. As the pavement thickness and temperature decrease, the shear stress in the waterproof layer tends to be increased. The tensile strain at the bottom asphalt layer decreases as the temperature and thickness increase.

  • We ensure a flat and regular basic surface by using part of joint waterproofing improved sheet method applying the upper slab of a concrete structure. We solve the problem of getting loose scale the general sheet by waterproofing of the sheet and improving adhesive strength of the basic concrete. Also, waterproofing sheet union to problem of joint have solved using of insertion type method so that, it improved a watertightness. It has improved in resist impact, resist abrasion and it is the effect of shortened construction period and cutting down on construction expenses. Here are the special quality and superiority of this waterproofing research. (1) Level material has the super adhesive strength so that it makes the basic surface without the gab of waterproofing sheet and waterproofing layer with the string adhesive strength. (2) We unite the sheet with the joining part between sheets by waterproofing sheet joint using of method. (3) There is the effect of shortened construction period and cutting down on construction expenses without waterproofing of protection.

  • Currently, demands for outdoor broadcasts and concerts are increasing. Due to severe circumstance of outdoor places like rain, wet-damage in moved loudspeaker may occur. Experimental approaches to improve waterproof-effect for movable loud speaker have been investigated in this studies. For performance test of loud speaker, enclosures were made by MDF(Medium Density Fiberboard). Three types of finishing material, general paint, sheet paper and FRP(Fiber Reinforced Plastics) are proposed for comparing waterproof-effects.
