In recent wireless communications, direct conversion transceiver or If sampling SDR-based receivers have being designed as an alternative to conventional transceiver topologies. In direct conversion receiver a.chitectu.e, the 1.equency/phase offset between the RF input signal and the local oscillator signal is a major impairment factor even though the conventional AFC/APC compensates the service deterioration due to the offset. To rover the limited tracking range of the conventional method and effectively aid compensation scheme in terms of I/Q channel imbalances, the frequency/phase offset compensation in RF-front end signal stage is proposed in this paper. In RF-front end, the varying phase offset besides the fixed large frequency/phase offset are corrected by using early-late phase compensator. A more simple frequency and phase tacking function in digital signal processing stage of direct conversion receiver is effectively available by an ingenious frequency/phase offset tracking method in RF front-end stage.

Recently, the DFT-Spread OFDM has been studied for the PAPR reduction. However, the DFT-Spread OFDM produces more ICI and SCI problems than OFDM because phase offset mismatch of the DFT spreading code results from the random phase noise in the oscillator. In this paper, at first, phase noise influence on the DFT-Spread OFDM system is theoretically analyzed in terms of the BER performance. Then, the conventional ICI self-cancellation methods are discussed and two kinds of ICI self-cancellation methods are newly proposed. Lastly, a new DFT-Spread OFDM system which selectively adopts the ICI self-cancellation technique is proposed to resolve the interference problem and PAPR reduction simultaneously. Proposednew DFT-Spread OFDM system can minimize performance degradation caused by phase noise, and still maintain the low PAPR property. Among the studied methods, DFT-Spread OFDM with data-conjugate method or newly proposed symmetric data-conjugate method show the significant performance improvements, compared with the DFT-Spread OFDM without ICI self-cancellation schemes. The data-conjugate method is slightly better than symmetric data-conjugate method.
We measured the absorption rate of a Nd:YVO$_4$crystal with a thickness of 1 mm and the output power characteristics of a cw Nd:YVO$_4$/KTP laser with respect to the change of wavelength and the polarizations of a tunable Ti:sapphire pump laser with a linewidth of 0.2 nm. In the case of S-polarization (E┴$\pi$) and P-polarization (E∥$\pi$) of a pump laser, the maximum absorption rate of the crystal was 82% at 809.4 nm and 98% at 808.8 nm, and slope efficiencies for the output power of the Nd:YVO$_4$laser (1064 nm) were 43% and 52%, respectively. The maximum Nd:YYO$_4$laser output power of 516 mW was obtained from the P-polarization pump laser of 1000 mW. As a result of an intracavity frequency-doubling, slope efficiency for the output power of the Nd:YVO$_4$/KTP green laker (532nm) was 23% and the maximum output power of 205 mW with the beam quality (M$^2$) of 1.42 was obtained from the P-polarization pump laser of 1000 mW.

In this research, cubic zirconia is synthesized with a refined CaO from shells as a stabilizer through Skull melting method. The proper process time and concentration are defined by Hydration reaction to produce the refined CaO after two different treatments using 0.1 mol% of HCl respectively with Cockle shell. The highest purity of CaO is reached when the shell is immersed in 1 mol% HCl. In Hydration reaction step, the pure $Ca(OH)_2$ is produced at $45^{\circ}C$ for 24 hours. The highest purity of CaO is measured when the $Ca(OH)_2$ is treated by heat at $1200^{\circ}C$ for 5 hours. The single crystals are grown through Skull melting method by adding the different contents of the refined CaO from 10 mol% to 30 mol% into $ZrO_2$. The frequency of High-frequency oscillator used for Skull melting method is 3.4 MHz. The descending speed of the single crystal is 3 mm/hour. The grown length of the single crystal is 4 cm. As a result of this study, 15 mol% of CaO has the best crystallinity.
In this study, the theoretical method and the finite element analysis were designed in parallel to fabricate basic research data on the production of tool horn for cutting machine with ultrasonic vibration energy. In order to perform high-performance ultrasonic cutting, it is necessary to vibrate only with longitudinal vibration instead of transverse vibration. In order to efficiently transmit the mechanical vibration energy, the maximum amplitude should be generated at the output portion. Therefore, the tool horn must be designed so that the excitation frequency of the oscillator and the natural frequency of the tool horn are the same. In order to design the resonance of the tool horn, there are a theoretical approach using the one-dimensional wave equation and a method of reflecting the finite element analysis result to the design model. In this study, the approximate dimensions of the tool horn are first determined through the one- Based on the results of the finite element analysis, the optimal model was selected and reflected in the final shape of the tool horn. We will use this information as the basic data of actual tool horn for cutting, and will compare the production and experimental data with the contents of this research.

In this paper, we report highly efficient second harmonic generation of continuous-wave Yb fiber lasers incorporating a periodically poled LiTaO3 device (MgO:PPSLT) as a frequency converter. The seed laser output from a Yb fiber master oscillator using a Fabry-Perot feedback cavity was amplified in a Yb fiber amplifier stage, yielding 28.5 W of linearly polarized output at 1064 nm in a beam with beam quality, M2, of ~1.07. Second harmonic generation was achieved by passing the laser beam through MgO:PPSLT. Under optimized conditions, we obtained 11.1 W of green laser output at 532 nm for an incident signal power of 25.0 W at 1064 nm, corresponding to a conversion efficiency of 44.4%. The detailed investigation to find the optimized operating conditions and prospects for further improvement are discussed.

This paper presents a new push-push VCO technique that extracts a second harmonic output signal from a capacitive commonnode in a negativegm oscillator topology. The generation of the $2^{nd}$ harmonics is accounted for by the nonlinear current-voltage characteristic of the emitter-base junction diode causing; 1) significant voltage clipping and 2) different rising and falling time during the switching operation of core transistors. Comparative investigations show the technique is more power efficient in the high-frequency region that a conventional push-push technique using an emitter common node. Prototype 12GHz and 17GHz MMIC VCO were realized in GaInP/GaAs HBT technology. They have shown nominal output power of -4.3dBm and -5dBm, phase noise of -108 dBc/Hz and -110.4 dBc/Hz at 1MHz offset, respectively. The phase noise results are also equivalent to a VCO figure-of-merit of -175.8 dBc/Hz and -184.3 dBc/Hz, while dissipate 25.68mW(10.7mA/2.4V) and 13.14mW(4.38mA/3.0V), respectively.

In this paper, a design of low power Current-Reuse Voltage Controlled Oscillator (VCO) which has wide tuning range about 1.95 GHz ~ 3.15 GHz is presented. Class-C type is applied to improve phase noise and 2-Step Auto Amplitude Calibration (AAC) is used for minimizing the imbalance of differential VCO output voltage which is main issue of Current-Reuse VCO. The mismatch of differential VCO output voltage is presented about 1.5mV ~ 4.5mV. This mismatch is within 0.6 % compared with VCO output voltage. Proposed Current-Reuse VCO is designed using CMOS $0.13{\mu}m$ process. Supply voltage is 1.2 V and current consumption is 2.6 mA at center frequency. The phase noise is -116.267 dBc/Hz at 2.3GHz VCO frequency at 1MHz offset. The layout size is $720{\times}580{\mu}m^2$.

In this paper, the forward link of UHF RFID system is modeled in accordance with the EPCglobal class 1 generation 2(EPCglobal C1G2) UHF Radio-Frequency Identity protocol specification at $860{\sim}960MHz$. Based on the constructed model, characteristics on the forward link signal for the EPCglobal C1G2 RFID reader are simulated with the help of a MATLAB softwarein order to extract the design parameters of a transmit digital filter which meets the Korean RFID regulations. Herein, the forward link model is consisted of PIE source coding, transmit digital filter, modulation, local oscillator, and antenna. From the simulation results, the ranges of three design parameters(roll-off factor, cutoff frequency, the number of tabs) for transmit digital filter are obtained with different modulation techniques and the Tari(type a reference interval) values. Finally, DSB/SSB-ASK modulation technique can not satisfy the EPCglobal C1G2 specification when Tari equals to $6.25{\mu}sec$ in a multiple-reader environment. Consequently this paper can provide a guideline for design parameters of a RFID reader as well as the basic scheme of analyzing frequency interference problems in RFID environments, including multiple-reader and dense-reader environments.

This paper presents the effects of RF performance parameters on the Galileo receiver design via simulation after reviewing the requirements of the Galileo receiver structure. At first, we considered the general requirements, structure and characteristics of the Galileo system. Then we designed the Galileo receiver focused on performance requirement of 16 dB C/N which is equal to 15 % Error Vector Magnitude(EVM) by using Advanced Design System(ADS) simulation program. In order to verify the function of Automatic Gain Control(AGC)), we measured the IF output power level by changing the input power level at the front - end of the receiver. We analyzed the performance degradation due to phase noise variations of Local Oscillator(LO) in the Galileo receiver through EVM when the minimum sensitivity level of -127 dBm is applied at the receiver. We also analyzed the performance degradation according to variable Analog-to-Digital Converter(ADC) bits within the Dynamic range, -92 ~ -139 dBm, which has been defined by gain range (-2.5 ~ +42.5 dB) in the AGC operation. The results clearly show that the performance of the Galileo receiver can be improved by increasing ADC bits and reducing Phase Noise of LO.
