  • In this paper, we fabricated along distance wireless communication transmitter and receiver over the 100 which used NRD technology. To make the transmitter and receiver of 400Hz band using the non radiative dielectric wave guide, transmitter was composed of gm oscillator, m modulator and antenna, receiver was composed of local gum oscillator, balanced mixer, 3dB direction coupler and antenna. Also we executed a wireless communication image transmission examination to the transmitter and receiver. We receive the image information in real-time data transmission from receiver after we send the image signal in the wireless distance of the 10km. Therefore, the 400Hz band U transmitter and receiver to be developed will be used widely for the transmission system CATV or broadband transmission system. This will be utilized also to the link device of a long distance high speed wireless communication network.

  • This paper describes implementation of the 5.0GHz RF frequency synthesizer with 0.18${\mu}m$ silicon CMOS technology being used as an application of the IEEE802.15.4 USN sensor node transceiver modules. To get good performance of speed and noise, design of the each module like VCO, prescaler, 1/N divider, fractional divider with ${\Sigma}-{\Delta}$ modulator, and common circuits of the PLL has been optimized. Especially to get excellent performance of high speed and wide tuning range, N-P MOS core structure and 12 step cap banks have been used in design of the VCO. The chip area including pads for testing is $1.1{\times}0.7mm^2$, and the chip area only core for IP in SoC is $1.0{\times}0.4mm^2$. Through analysing of the fabricated frequency synthesizer, we can see that it has wide operation range and excellent frequency characteristics.

  • Bragg gratings were fabricated in Ge-doped silica planar lightwave circuits (PLC) for different writing conditions to study the growth characteristics. The refractive index modulation of the gratings grew in the PLC with total fluence F according to the power law $\Delta$n=A $F^{B}$. The characteristics of the PLC gratings formed for external cavity lasers match closely to those predicted by the power law. The oscillation spectra of the FP-LD with a Bragg grating grown in the PLC waveguide were also presented.d.

  • We stabilized the frequency and power of a CW radio-frequency-excited $CO_2$ laser on the peak of the Doppler broadened gain curve using the photoacoustic effect generated from the laser itself. The condenser microphone is installed in the radio frequency discharge chamber to detect a photoacoustic signal. The photoacoustic signal is fed to a lock-in stabilizer as a reference signal for stabilization. The frequency stability is estimated to be better then 5.4${\times}$10$^{-8}$ at the P(20) line. The stabilized output variation was reduced 9.3%, compared to 100% for a free running laser.

  • We have investigated the output characteristics of the 946 nm Nd:YAG laser which is longitudinally pumped by a fiber coupled laser diode. The temperature of a Nd:YAG crystal mount was kept constant by a controller with thermoelectric cooler. As a result, we measured more intense output at a low temperature, and then the maximum output power was measured to be 870 mW when the pumping power and the temperature were 9.95 W and $5^{\circ}C$, respectively. It appeared that output was decreased above 10 W pump power because of the thermal effects in gain medium.

  • We present a low jitter frequency up-conversion detector based on quasi-phase matched sum frequency generation in a periodically poled $LiNbO_3$ waveguide for efficient single-photon detection at 1.5 ${\mu}m$ telecommunication wavelengths. The maximum detection efficiency and the noise count rate using the pump power of 300 mW and the pump wavelength of 974 nm are about 7% and 480 kHz, respectively. We also characterize the timing jitter of the frequency up-conversion detector by analyzing the time distribution of the detection outputs for photons generated through a picosecond pump pulsed spontaneous parametric downconversion. The minimum timing jitter was measured to be about 39.1 ps. Coincidence measurement with a narrow time window for pulsed up-conversion photons can eliminate the unwanted noise counts and maximize signal to noise ratio.

  • We achieved 95% visibility in the Hong-Ou-Mandel interference experiment while we achieved only 56% visibility in a previous report. We used a 120 mW 405 nm single-mode continuous wave laser, a 5-mm-thick type-1 ${\beta}$-barium borate single crystal, standard Hong-Ou-Mandel interferometer optics, two avalanche photodiode single-photon counters, and a homemade coincidence counting unit. The photon collection unit was the key difference between the present study and the previous study. In the present experiment, we used single-mode optical fibers for photon collection, which suppressed accidental coincidence between-different mode photons by acting as a spatial filter because of its core size being much smaller than a multi-mode fiber.

  • This paper proposes a new efficient CFAR algorithm. The structure of the proposed CFAR is relatively simple as compared with the OS-CFAR or ML-CFAR which are considered to deal with the nonhomogeneous environment such as clutter and multiple targets. The proposed algorithm is effectively applied to the radar signal processor with reduced computation burden. The relationship between the threshold and PFA of the proposed CFAR is derived analytically. The CFAR loss of the proposed CFAR algorithm is compared with CA-CFAR and OS-CFAR based on both SNR and ADT(Average Detection Threshold).

  • Objectives This study is to report a case that has an important meaning as a result of treating Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis. We investigated a patient who had to maintain his life with western medicines such as DMARDs, NSAIDs and steroids for a long time. The patient has recovered from all symptoms and his ESR, CRP has been back to normal range with oriental medicine treatment. Methods The patient had fever, especially repeated fever during the afternoon, pain and swelling of joints, generalized skin eruption, anorexia, delayed growth, weight loss, fatigue. So we treated him with herbal medicine and reduced his western medicine. The aim of treatment was recovery from Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis after discontinuance of all western medicine. Results The symptoms of systemic type Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis was vanished and the patient maintains his condition with oriental medicine treatment after stopped all DMARDs such as MTX(methotrexate) and NSAIDs. His ESR and CRP levels were back to the normal range. After this treatment the patient's height and weight has been increased which showed a significant meaning in growth to the child. Conclusions This study showed that oriental medicine can elevate the Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis patient's quality of life with continuous health care and treatment for major problem. For more accurate studies, further studies would be needed with more cases.

  • Chua's circuit is a simple electronic network which exhibits a variety of bifurcation and attractors. The circuit consists of two capacitors, a linear resistor, and a nonlinear resistor. In this papre we analyze a circuit obtained by replacing the parallel LC resonator in the Chua's circuit by lossless transmission line. By using the method of characteristics of this circuit we show that various periodic motions and chaotic motions can the attained according to parameter variations. From Chua's circuit with a lossless transmission line a variely of chaotic attractors which are similar to those of the normal Chua's circuit are observed.
