Performance Analysis of Photovoltaic System for Greenhouse (태양광 발전시스템의 발전 성능 분석)

  • This study was performed to reduce the operating cost of a greenhouse by securing electric energy required for greenhouse operation. Therefore, it experimentally reviewed the performance analysis of photovoltaic system in terms of maximum amount of generated electric power based on the amount of horizontal solar radiation during daytime. That is to say, the maximum solar radiation at 300, 400, 500, 600, 700, 800 and 900 W. $m^{-2}$, respectively. The amount of momentary electric power of the photovoltaic system at any was about 970 W and we found that the momentary efficiency of the photovoltaic system that was used for this experiment was 97%. In the case of this system, we found that electric power will be generated when amount of horizontal solar radiation is more than 200 W. $m^{-2}$, at minimum. If the amount of horizontal solar radiation is increased, the maximum power generation is also increased. At that time, the maximum efficiencies were 30, 78, 86 and 90%, respectively. However, when the amount of insolation was about 800 W. $m^{-2}$, the maximum power generation tended to be lower than 700 W. $m^{-2}$. The efficiency which caused the maximum electric power was decreased to less than 97% of the momentary generated electric power. When the total amounts of horizontal solar radiation per day were 3.24, 8.10, 10, 90, 12.70, 14.33, 19.53 and $21.48MJ{\cdot}m^{-2}$ respectively, the total amounts of power energy were 0.03, 0.40, 3.60, 4.37, 4.71, 4.70 and 4.91 kWh. And it represented that the total amounts of power energy were either decreased or increased a bit on the border between some solar radiations. The temperature at the back of the array tended to be higher than the temperature at the front but it demonstrated an increased when the amount of solar radiation increased. In the case of this system, the performance of the module in terms of degradation has not been shown yet.

Structural Test Analysis Study for Manufacturing of Flax Fiber Composite Blades for 30kW Wind Turbines (30kW 풍력터빈용 아마섬유 복합재 블레이드 제조를 위한 구조 시험 분석 연구)

  • Recently, as global environmental issues for sustainable development, such as carbon neutrality, have emerged, disposal methods of glass fiber composites, a material of existing wind turbines, have become a problem. To solve this problem, in this study, 30kW wind turbine blades were manufactured using flax fiber-based composites, which are eco-friendly natural fiber composites that can replace existing glass fiber composites, and their suitability was evaluated. First, mechanical strength tests were conducted to verify the feasibility of using eco-friendly natural flax fiber composites as a wind turbine blade material, and as a result, better strength were confirmed compared to previous studies on the properties of flax fiber composites. In addition, the suitability was confirmed through a static strength performance evaluation test to measure the static strength of the flax fiber composite blade using the manufactured 30kW class flax fiber composite blade.

  • Rate-of-return regulation where a regulator compensates the utilities based upon the cost incurred the regulated companies have the incentive to over-report cost level. However, in case of cost-based competition where a regulator knows the cost of each plant involved and induce the competition among them, one can encounter prisoner's dilemma situation in the short run where the regulated firms under-report cost level. For instance, in case of cost-based pool, a generator may have a strategic behavior to keep its registered variable cost higher than the actual level to maintain its operation rate and generation amounts higher. Eventually, however, such behavior decrease the profitability of a generator and discourage new entry jeopardizing required level of capacity reserves. This is a typical Prisoner's Dilemma situation. The power market operating rule should be revised so that generators' registered variable cost reflect actual level of variable cost.

  • Subscriber Protector is installed in a point of connection between main wire and in-plant cable to protect telecommunication facilities and service users from overvoltage or overcurrent due to the lightning or induction. In Korea, there are regulations for obligation of installation and performance criteria of protectors, but these regulations in force can not cope with diversification of services because it stands on the basis of PSTN service only. In earlier paper, we suggested the improvement way of technical regulation for subscriber protector in customer premises. and in this paper, we propose revised criteria for overvoltage performance of protector in customer premises, and make feasibility of revised criteria through inspection tests.

  • 국내 화력발전의 $CO_2$배출량을 크게 줄이고, 친환경, 그린 화력발전시스템을 위한 가장 효과적인 수단은 발전효율을 획기적으로 증대시키는 것이기 때문에 이를 목표로 한 기술개발은 경제적으로나 산업적으로 파급효과가 매우 크다. 발전효율 증대를 위한 핵심기술은 증기터빈의 성능향상이다. 현재 일본, 미국, EU 등 각국이 가장 관심을 가지고 기술개발에 심혈을 쏟고 있는 초내열, 내식 합금소재는 $700^{\circ}C$이상에서 기계적 성능을 보장할 수 있는 Ni기 합금개발이고, 현재까지 상당한 기술수준에 이르고 있는 것으로 파악되고 있다. 국내의 경우는 관련기술개발을 위해 연구가 진행되고 있으나, 기술적으로 아직 미흡한 수준이다. Ni기 초내열, 내식합금을 개발해서 그것을 화력발전용 증기터빈 부품, 특히 초내열합금 용접형 터빈로터 소재로 이용하기 위해서는 체계적이고 실용적인 연구를 통하여 용접형로타의 내구성과 신뢰성이 보장되는 최적 수준의 접합기술 개발이 선행되어야 한다. 따라서 본 연구는 선행연구로 $700^{\circ}C$이상 초내열/내식 Ni기 합금소재의 용접기술 개발을 위한 후보 소재 Alloy 617의 동종재료 용접 기술 개발을 목표로 한다. 본 연구는 Alloy617 12.6t 맞대기 이음으로 U그루브 내로갭 TIG용접을 하였다. 1pass 1layer 방식으로 총 8pass 8layer로 용접하였다. 전류 및 용접속도는 동일하게 두고 실드가스를 Ar 또는 Ar-$H_2$ 가스로 변경하여 시험하였다. Ar가스 TIG용접은 비드표면에 산화스케일이 생기고, 비드면이 거칠며 전체적으로 산화되었다. 반면에 Ar-$H_2$가스 TIG용접은 비드표면에 산화스케일이 없으며 표면이 미려하고 산화되지 않았다. 실드가스에 수소가스 첨가시 환원성가스로 역할을 하게 되고 이에 따라 용융지 표면에 산화피막을 제거하여 용접비드를 청정하게 하는 효과를 가진다.

Emissions and Combustion Dynamics with Fuel Injection Position for Low-swirl Nozzles of Gas Turbine Combustor (복합발전 가스터빈 연소기용 저선회 노즐의 연료 분사 위치에 따른 배기배출 및 연소진동 특성)

  • In this study, two low-swirl nozzles with the same SN (Swirl Number) but different mass ratio (m) of the core part and the swirler part were designed to perform an atmospheric pressure combustion test. For each nozzle, a combustion test was conducted according to the adiabatic flame temperature, and the flame structure, emissions, and combustion instability mode were identified. Although the flame structure was significantly different, the CO emission was similar, and the NOx emission was also more related to combustion dynamics than the flame structure. Combustion dynamics and NOx emission were identified while adjusting the convection delay time by changing the position of the fuel injection nozzle. It was confirmed that when the convection delay time is in the region of (3+4n)/4T±1/4T (n=0,1,2,...), the combustion instability is strong, and in the opposite case, the combustion instability is very weak.

  • Recently, as unmanned aerial vehicle technology such as drones has developed, there are many environmental, social and economic benefits, but if there is malicious intent against important national facilities such as airports, public institutions, power plants, and the military, it can seriously affect national safety and people's lives. It can cause damage. To respond to these drone threats, attempts are being made to introduce detection equipment such as RF scanners. In particular, power transmission towers installed in substations, power plants, and Korea's power system can affect detection performance if the transmission tower is located in the RF scanner detection path. In the experiment, a commercial drone was used to measure the signal intensity emitted from the drone and confirm the attenuation rate. The average and maximum attenuation rates showed similar trends in the 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz bands, and were also affected by the density of the structure.

  • 한전 전력연구원에서는 2009년 12월부터 125 kW급 용융탄산염 연료전지 발전시스템의 성능평가를 위한 운전이 진행되고 있다. 현재 진행 중인 "250 kW급 열병합 용융탄산염 연료전지 Proto Type개발" 과제의 최종시작품인 250 kW급 발전시스템은 125 kW급 MCFC 스택 2기로 설계되어, 125 kW급 시스템의 시험운전은 매우 중요한 기술적 성과가 될 것이다. 현재 125 kW급 MCFC 스택은 10,000 $cm^2$의 유효전극면적을 갖는 단위전지들로 구성되었으며, 적층 스택의 온도 및 농도분포의 최적화를 위해 내부 매니폴드 및 Co-flow Type 열교환기 기반의 분리판을 개발 적용하였다. 연료극의 전극 구성은 Ni-Al alloy로, 공기극의 전극 구성은 Lithiated-NiO로 이루어졌다. 그리고 매트릭스는 ${\alpha}-LiAlO_2$로 제작되었고, 전해질은 Li과 K Carbonate가 68 : 32 비율로 섞인 용융염을 사용하였다. 본 125 kW급 용융탄산염 연료전지 시스템의 운전평가는 고적층 스택의 온도 및 농도 분포를 확인하고, 최적화된 스택 운전 조건을 도출하는 것을 그 목적으로 하고 있다. 125kW급 스택 1기의 규모의 주변기기 시스템은 외부개질기, 촉매연소기, 이젝터, 고온순환 블로어 및 공기블로어 등으로 이루어져 있다. 고온형 연료전지 시스템에서 연료극과 공기극의 균일한 온도 및 압력 확보는 매우 중요하며, 이를 위하여 외부개질기 및 촉매연소기 연동을 통한 온도편차를 최소화하고, 기존 고온용 순환 블로어 대신 이젝터를 개발 도입하여 압력균형을 조절하였다. 125kW급 MCFC 시스템은 2009년 12월부터 전처리 운전을 시작하여 2010년 1월 말부터 PCS로 전기를 생산하고 있다. 평균전압 0.83V에서 100kW의 출력을 기록하였으며, 피크부하 120 kW, 누적출력량 30 MWh를 초과달성하였다.

Power Performance Testing and Uncertainty Analysis for a 1.5MW Wind turbine (1.5MW 풍력발전시스템 출력 성능시험 및 불확도 분석)

  • The installed capacity of wind turbines in KOREA are growing and enlarging by the central government's support program. Thus, the importance of power performance verification and its uncertainty analysis are recognizing rapidly. This paper described the Power testing results of a 1.5MW wind turbine and analysed an uncertainty level of measurements. The measured power curves are very closely coincide with the calculated one and the annual power production under the given Rayleigh wind speed distribution are estimated with the $4.7{\sim}22.0%$ of uncertainty but, in the dominant wind speed region as $7{\sim}8m/s$, the uncertainty are stably decreased to $7{\sim}8%$.

  • This paper describes the results of steam turbine performance tests. The objectives of performance test is to exactly evaluate the degradation(decrease in performance) of the coal-fired steam turbine generator in order to provide plant information to help performance engineers identify problems, improve performance, and make economic decisions about scheduling maintenance and optimizing operation. To achieve these goals, the periodic thermal performance tests have been carried out since the initial operation period, 1997. We made the calculation program and guidelines for the tests and developed the performance index of the turbine cycle on the basis of the ASME PTC. By comparing the performance changes throughout the whole operation period, we confirmed the performance reliabilities of the turbine and its conditions.
