The Study on Coordinate Transformation of the Tracking Radar in NARO Space Center (나로우주센터 추적레이더의 좌표 변환에 관한 연구)

  • The tracking radar systems in NARO space center are used in order to acquire the TSPI (Time, Space, and Position Information) data of the launch vehicle. The tracking radar produce the measurements of tracked targets in the radar-centered coordinate system. When the tracking radar is in the Cartesian/Polar tracking mode, the state vector data is sent in radar-centered Cartesian/Polar coordinate system to RCC. RCC also send the slaving data in Test Range coordinate system to the tracking radar. So, the tracking radars have to transform the slaving data in Test Range coordinate system into in radar-centered coordinate system. In this study, we described the coordinate transformation between radar-centered coordinate system and Test Range coordinated system.

  • The tracking radars in NARO space center are precious, long-range tracking systems for tracking the launch vehicle (KSLV-1) and transmitting TSPI (Time, Space and Position Information) data to MCC (Mission Control Center). Because TSPI data from tracking radars to MCC are important information for the launch mission and flight safety control, TSPI data are required to be more accurate. In this paper, we analyzed theoretically the required specification of the random noise error in tracking radar and verified the real random noise error. In this analysis, we evaluated the TSPI data of several flight tests performed in NARO space center.

  • 본 논문에서는 나로호(KSLV-I) 비행상태의 실시간 감시를 목적으로 국내에서는 처음 개발된 우주센터 원격수신자료전시시스템(EDS)의 구축과 운용을 소개한다. EDS는 우주센터 발사통제시스템의 주요 시스템 중 하나이고 그 역할은 위성발사체의 비행에 중대한 영향을 주는 주요정보(QLM)와 궤적정보(TSPI)를 수신하여 실시간으로 처리함으로써 탑재 서브시스템별 전문가들이 위성발사체의 비행 상태를 감시할 수 있도록 지원하는 것이다. EDS는 3회에 걸친 나로호 비행시험에서 그 역할에 따라 매회 8대가 운영되었으며 임무를 성공적으로 수행하였다. 본 시스템을 기반으로 추후 발전된 형태의 한국형발사체(KSLV-II) 비행상태의 실시간 감시시스템의 구축이 가능할 것으로 예상된다.

  • 현재 전라남도 고흥 외나로도에서는 발사체를 발사하기 위한 우주센터를 건립 중에 있다. 우주센터 내에는 추적레이다, 발사대, 발사통제시스템, 기상 장비 등 발사를 위한 그리고 발사 후의 발사체 추적을 위한 장비가 건설 중이다. 본 글에서는 우주센터 기상장비 중에서 낙뢰현상을 감지할 수 있고 낙뢰의 이동방향을 추적할 수 있는 종합낙뢰감지시스템에 대하여 낙뢰의 관측방법과 국내외에서 낙뢰를 감지하여 실제 기상청이나 Launch Site에서 사용하고 있는 실례를 소개하고 우주센터에 설치 중인 종합낙뢰감지시스템의 성능과 앞으로의 활용가능성에 대하여 알아보기로 하겠다.

An Analysis of Threat Factors for Strengthen Maritime Safety around Delphi/AHP-Based Launch Site and Flight Paths (Delphi/AHP 기반 발사장 주변 및 비행경로의 해상안전 강화를 위한 위협요인 분석)

  • In this study, using the Delphi method, 20 responses to 4 questions (need for launch safety control, top-priority considerations for ensuring public safety during launch, necessary improvements for securing maritime safety, and maritime safety threat factors) regarding launch vehicles and public safety were obtained from experts, and their importance was evaluated to analyze the factors that threaten the reinforcement of maritime safety around launch sites and flight paths when launching. According to the results of an analytic hierarchy process (AHP) analysis, the consistency ratio of the four questions was 4.8%, which is lower than CR ≤ 0.1(10%), and the consistency percentage of the lower measurement indicators was 3.9~5.7%. The derived importance and priority of maritime safety threat factors during launching were in the following order: Substantial human and physical damage in case of launch accidents(0.36), Prepare legal bases (e.g., penalty details) regarding maritime control(0.32), Secure the safety of personnel, equipment, and facilities in danger zone(0.31), Unauthorized entry of vessels in maritime control zones and non-compliance to restrictions(0.30). This article can serve as a reference for strengthening maritime safety in areas around launch sites and flight paths.

위성발사를 위한 원격측정 지상국시스템 설계에 관한 연구

  • The design on the Telemetry Ground System for launch of KSLV(Korea Space Launch Vehicle) in the korean Space center has been conducted in this study. For the optimized system design, first of all, the system deployment plan reflecting the topographic and geographic environments of the space center and launch vehicle characteristics has been developed. The RF link budget analysis for the maximum tracking range, requirement for receiving subsystem including antenna subsystem, requirement for data processing subsystem are also analyzed based on the On-Board Telemetry characteristics and launch vehicle parameters. Based on those analysis, telemetry ground system containing tracking/receiving subsystem, recording subsystem and data processing subsystem, timing subsystem, calibration subsystem and monitoring and control subsystem are designed. Futhermore, the analysis for the maximum permissible data latency and communication protocol between each telemetry station and control center are conducted and the entire system is designed so that the major telemetry parameters selected to the best quality are provided in real time to the control center(RCC, RSC) for the launch mission operation.

  • 위성체와 발사체 사이에는 임무설계접속, 기계접속, 전기접속, 환경접속 등 다양한 접속이 존재한다. 본 논문은 2004년 1월 수행된 발사체 전기접속 시험을 통하여 검증한 다목적 실용위성 2호와 ROCKOT 발사체간 전기접속과 발사장에서의 위성체, 발사체, 지상지원 장비 및 임무통제센터를 포함한 주변 지원시설간 접속을 기술하였다. 본 시험의 목적은 KIA(KOMPSAT-2 Interface Assembly)를 포함한 발사체 TMS(Telemetry Measure ment System)와 다목적실용위성 2호 사이의 호환성을 검증하고 LV TMS와 위성체 LSTS (Launch Support & Test Set)의 하드웨어 및 소프트웨어의 정확한 동작을 검증하는 것이다.   • 우주발사체 추적용 지상국비행종단지령장비는 위성발사체 발사 후 비행 중 일어날 수 있는 비상사태(비행안전영역을 벗어나거나 지상에서 더 이상 추적이 불가능할 경우)에 대하여 지상통제장치에서 비행종단을 명령하여 비행을 강제로 종단시키는 역할을 한다. 일반적으로 발사체에 비행종단을 명령하는 방식은 발사체의 종류 및 운용개념에 따라 다르게 적용되며, 가청주파수 대역의 톤 신호를 조합하는 IRIG 표준 톤 방식과 Secure 방식, 또한 잡음 및 보안특성에 강한 암호화 코드화 방식이 사용되고 있다. 본 글에서는 비행종단명령에 사용되는 다양한 전송방식 및 적용 사례를 살펴보고 세계 각국 및 국내 나로우주센터(고흥)에서 설치 운용 중인 지상국비행종단지령장비에 대한 운용개념 및 주요특성을 살펴보도록 한다.

Implementation of Slaving Data Processing Function for Mission Control System in Space Center (우주센터 발사통제시스템의 추적연동정보 처리기능 구현)

  • In KSLV-I launch mission, real-time data from the tracking stations are acquired, processed and distributed by the Mission Control System to the user group who needed to monitor processed data for safety and flight monitoring purposes. The processed trajectory data by the mission control system is sent to each tracking system for target designation in case of tracking failure. Also, the processed data are used for decision making for flight termination when anomalies occur during flight of the launch vehicle. In this paper, we propose the processing mechanism of slaving data which plays a key role of launch vehicle tracking mission. The best position data is selected by predefined logic and current status after every available position data are acquired and pre-processed. And, the slaving data is distributed to each tracking stations through time delay is compensated by extrapolation. For the accurate processing, operation timing of every procesing modules are triggered by time-tick signal(25ms period) which is driven from UTC(Universial Time Coordinates) time. To evaluate the proposed method, we compared slaving data to the position data which received by tracking radar. The experiments show the average difference value is below 0.01 degree.

  • The launch operation for a space launch vehicle(SLV) is to be conducted by the systematic operation between SLV and the Technological Equipment(TE) such as the mechanical, fuel, and electrical ground support equipment at launch complex(LC). The basic source for the operation of the instruments in LC is the electrical power supply system, Technological Equipment Power Supply System(TEPSS), which is one of the Launch Control System. Thus TEPSS should supply the required electrical power to TE with reliability. In this paper, TEPSS which supplies operational electrical power to TE is introduced.
