Research for the simulation development to improve teacher's questioning skill (교사의 발문기술 향상 시뮬레이션 개발을 위한 연구)

  • Each university runs curriculum for pre-service teachers to improve teaching skills and designing classes and realizing them. Pre-service teachers can have opportunities of designing and realizing charming classes in the course of practice teaching. We can say that if pre-service teachers can practice simulation for effective teaching skills, there can be some advantages: improvement of class environment, consolidation of instructors' abilities, and thus a ripple effect of for those within the whole community. The purpose of this study is to introduce and indicate the direction of simulation for pre-service teachers and beginners alike, thus training and expecting them to improve effective questioning skills through systematic education courses.

An Analysis of Questioning in an Instruction on the Probability that Event A and Event B Occur ('사건 A와 사건 B가 동시에 일어날 확률' 수업의 발문 분석)

  • This study analyzed characteristics of which a teacher asked questions in an instruction on the probability that event A and event B occur. The aim of this study based on the analysis was to deduce implications in terms of the various means which would enhance middle school students' understanding about the probability and assist teachers in designing instructions on the mathematics contents. To achieve this goal, this research firstly reviewed Morgan & Saxon(2006) which offers one classification of questioning that identifies a general intention for each category. Secondly, this study examined previous literature on teaching and learning the probability that event A and event B occur in order to identify didactical issues to teach the mathematics contents. Therefore, this study probed the questions of the instruction in the light of the framework descriptors from Morgan & Saxon(2006) and the issues to teach the probability that event A and event B occur. This research inspires the elaboration of what features have with regard to effective questioning in teaching mathematics through the analyzing process and additionally the elucidation of essential matters related to mathematics education on the basis of the analyzed results.

  • As the learning space has expanded, the distance education has become a recent scholarship in teaching-learning method, and also a great type of media, technologies and strategies to support distance education are attracting a fair amount of attention. However in order to manage a distance education system, it is necessary to be endowed user with technical ability and operational expenses. On the other hand, although a web-based system that makes simple may cut cost, it is difficult to analyze learner's behaviors. Therefore, in this paper, we developed a interactive distance system based on individualized questioning, which relies upon learner's knowledge state and applies a efficient individualized learning method. Additionally, this study is instrument to reduce users' technical ability and operational expenses.

An Analysis for Creativity Effect of Engineering Questions (공학적 발문의 창의성 효과 분석)

  • The purpose of this study was to find a desirable time to ask a question to effectively improve creativity as an engineering viewpoint and apply it to daily schedule as a diverse teaching method in daily schedule of young children's curriculum. Forty five young children among three kindergarten of G Metropolitan City, aged 5, were selected as a subject for this study. Type A of Thinking Creatively with pictures, TTCT was used as an instrument, and the resistant score for the lower level of elements: Fluency, Ingenuity, Originality, Abstractness of Titles, hasty conclusion. The total score of creativity was highest in the 1st-time period ($M=95.52{\pm}12.21$). As a result, it was concluded that desirable story-telling time should be after 10 a.m., the 1st-time period, to improve the highest creativity.

  • 본 연구는 보육교사들의 이야기나누기 수업 운영의 어려움에 대해 구체적으로 알아보기 위해 수업운영과정에서 교사가 경험하는 내용과 의미에 대한 질적인 분석을 하였다. 연구의 목적은 보육교사의 반성적 사고능력의 향상과 다양한 수업에 대한 지원을 통한 보육교사의 수업능력 향상을 돕는데 있다. 이 연구를 위하여 어린이집에서 담임으로 근무하는 교사 7명이 연구에 참여하였고, 참여관찰, 심층면담, 동료교사와의 협의, 교사의 저널쓰기 등의 자료를 수집하여 분석하였다. 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 이야기나누기 수업 운영에서 교사들은 이야기나누기 수업준비를 위한 시간부족과 유아와의 상호작용, 교사의 발문, 유아의 주의집중에서 어려움으로 느끼고 있었으며 수업 운영에 필요한 다양한 지원과 함께 교사가 수업의 질을 향상시킬 수 있는 장학의 필요성을 인식하게 되었다.

The Effect of Cooperative Mentoring on Beginning Science Teachers' Reflective Practice (초임 과학교사의 반성적 실천을 위한 협력적 멘토링의 효과)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the change in the classes of the beginning science teachers through a cooperative mentoring program that induces the practice of reflective thinking. Participants in this study included three mentor-teachers, two teachers in doctorate or masters courses, one university professor, and three mentee-teachers who had less than four years of teaching experience. We collected data such as video recordings of mentee-teachers' classes and transcription, lesson plans, recording of one-on-one mentoring and transcription, mentor's and mentee's journals, and RTOP class observation reports. RTOP was used for the class analysis, and the cognition and changes in mentee-teachers' classes were determined from their journal entries and one-on-one mentoring interview materials. According to mentee-teachers' recognition of changes in their classes during the mentoring program, they themselves recognized their teacher-centered teaching styles, misconception, and lack of content knowledge. Furthermore, there were changes in the mentee-teachers' classes through their reflective practice and improvement. Based on the result of this study, however, the teachers' reflection was not all accompanied with reflective practice even if the beginner science teachers made some partial changes in reflective practice by reflection. This means that it is hard to instill a reflective practice in mentee-teachers through mentoring in a short period. Therefore, we consider that more systematic and long-term mentoring is necessary for beginner science teachers.

Review on Fuel Economy of Vehicle(I) (자동차의 연비저가에 관한 고찰(I))

  • 자동차가 처음 만들어진 당시에는 목적지까지 무사히 도착하는 신뢰성이 중요한 과제가 되었으리 라 생각된다. 무사히 도착되니 다음은 어떻게 하면 빨리 도착할 수 있을까하는 요구에서 고속화 즉 기관의 고출력화가 이루어졌다. 자동차의 편리함이 인식되고 또 보급됨에 따라 자동차가 주 위한경에 미치는 영향이 문제가 되어 1960년대 후반부터 자동차배출가스규제가 시작되고 이어서 소음규제가 실시되어 점차 강화되고 있다. 1973년부터 시작된 석유위기이래 자동차의 석유사용 량을 저감시키는 목적으로 미국에서는 연비규제가 실시되기에 이르렀고 다른 국가들도 거기에 따르고 있다. 미국의 1975년 에너지정책, 보존법(Energy Policy and Conservation Act of 1975 )은 1974년의 평균연비 14mile/gallon을 1985년까지는 약 2배의 27.5mile/gallon까지 높이고자 하는 것이다. 가까운 일본에서도 약 35%정도 향상되고 있는 실정이다. 자동차의 저연비특성은 제품기능으로 점차 중요시되는 동시에 국가차원에서는 석유에너지절약의 한 방편으로 사회적으 로도 해결하여야할 입장에 이르렀다. 이 에너지 절약 문제는 자동차의 소형화를 포함한 국제 적인 자동차 재개발문제로 발전, 80년대의 신기술개발의 최대과제가 되고 있다. 또 최근의 사용 자의 요구는 운전성, 실용성에 대해서도 까다롭고 또 다양화하고 있다. 이들 요구와 엄격한 배 출가스규제 및 소용규제를 만족시키면서 연비저감을 꾀하느것인 만큼 실로 어려운 일임에는 틀 림없다. 여기서는 가솔린기관 승용차의 연비저감을 중심으로 규제의 상황, 연비의 향상기술에 대해서 논하고자 한다.

Application of the Cognitive Conflict Process Model to Middle School Science Course (인지갈등을 통한 개념수업 절차 모형의 적용)

  • This study investigated the influences of applying the Cognitive Conflict Process Model (the Procedural Teaching Model using Cognitive Conflict Strategy: Kwon, 1989) upon students' achievement and attitudes in a middle school science concept instruction. For the treatment group, science instruction to apply the Cognitive Conflict Process Model was used. For the control group, traditional instruction was used. Prior to instruction, students' pre-conceptions test and attitudes test related to the science were administered. After instruction, the above two tests and the regular examinations were measured. Also students' perceptions of their teacher's new teaching style was investigated by questionnaire. But, above all, the main purpose of this study was to investigate the principal accompanying matters of general application of the teaching model to science concept instruction rather than conceptual and attitudinal change. Therefore, this study identified necessary conditions of applying the teaching model to science instruction.

The Development of a Technology.Home Economics Teacher-Training Program (기술.가정과 교사 교육 프로그램 개발)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop a teacher-training program to improve the Technology Home Economics teacher's educational activity effects. To accomplish this goal, this study developed a training program for the Technology Home Economics teacher through the literature study and the research. The conclusion drawn from this study is as follows: First, it needs to develop a systematic teacher training program to raise the professionalism related to the Technology Home Economics teacher's instruction. Second, the developed program for the Technology Home Economics teacher organizes the 46 subjects and 121 educational contents, and this educational program is worthwhile to be facilitated when a teacher-training institution like the Ministry of Eduction, Science and Technology, local education offices and universities organizes a teacher-training program. Third, as the result analyzing teachers' training demands about the educational contents of a Technology Home Economics teacher-training program, it was appeared that the most demand was 'development of professional activities for the Technology Home Economics teacher', and following demands were the 'production of various evaluation tools', the 'effectively epilogue strategy', and the 'technology to increase the learning motivation' in order. Therefore a training program for the Technology Home Economics teacher should deal these educational contents importantly, and a future teacher-training program developer need to refer to them.

A Study on the Characteristics of Mathematics Class-Criticism by Elementary Teachers (초등학교 교사의 수학 수업 비평의 특징에 대한 연구)

  • This research aims to examine the characteristics and main subjects of the mathematics class-criticism by elementary' teachers. In this aim, we analyzed the mathematics class-criticism by the 11 elementary teachers. As the results of this research, the elementary teachers criticized the mathematics class while understanding and describing the class as it is. And mathematics class-criticism by elementary teachers showed contextual and situational characteristics. Furthermore, the main subjects of mathematics class-criticism by elementary teachers were identified as mathematical communication, teacher's question to foster the students' mathematical thinking, appropriateness of task, motivation for students, concrete operational activity, appropriateness on teacher's mathematical behavior and teacher's use of mathematical term, experience of inductive reasoning. While, we identified the significance of mathematics class-criticism for elementary teachers. The elementary teachers pointed out the necessity and importance of the mathematics class-criticism on the mathematics class in usual context.
