Catalytic activities and performance enhancement of Ni catalysts for CO2 reforming (이산화탄소 개질반응을 위한 니켈 촉매의 활성 및 성능향상)

  • Activity improvement of Ni metal catalysts for carbon dioxide reforming was studied using HY-zeolite as the main supporter. As the reaction temperature increased, $CH_4$ and $CO_2$ conversions increased, and conversions higher than 80% was obtained above $700^{\circ}C$. As the Ni loading increased, the catalyst activity increased, and the highest activity was shown for the Ni loading of 13wt%. The HY-zeolite support showed the highest intial conversions of $CH_4$ and $CO_2$, but it showed faster deactivation than a ${\gamma}-Al_2O_3$ support. Nevertheless, it maintained the $CH_4$conversion higher than 80% after 24 hr reaction. The effect of promoters such as Mg, Mn, K, and Ca was also studied. It was observed that the Mg promotor exhibited the highest catalyst activity and less deactivation compared with Mn, K and Ca. After 24hr reaction, The optimum Mg content was found to be 5wt%.

The Effects of Cr-Substitution in Ferrite Catalysts and the Catalytic Dehydrogenation of Ethylbenzene (페라이트 촉매의 Cr 치환효과와 에틸벤젠의 탈수소반응)

  • Mg- and Zn-ferrites having spinel structure, a kind of complex oxides showing the advantageous properties of constituent single metal oxides, were selected to find a relationship between their catalytic activities in the dehydrogenation of ethylbenzene to styrene and the catalytic properties. For the structural and physical analyses of ferrites, XRD, BET, TG/DTA, ESCA, TEM, and TPD methods were employed. The effects of Cr-substitution were intensively studied by the experimental methods mentioned above. Chromium which showed a preferential tendency to diffuse to the surface acted as a structural promoter by increasing surface area and stability of catalyst structure. In the dehydrogenation of ethylbenzene, catalytic activity, and the effects of Cr-substitution were investigated. Oxygen mobility was decreased with the amount of Cr-substitution in $MgCr_xFe_{2-x}O_4$, which resulted in the increase of selectivity to styrene and the suppression of total oxidation.

Influence of particle size on sensing characteristics of hydrothermally treated nano-sized $SnO_2$ (수열합성법으로 제조한 나노 크기의 $SnO_2$ 입자 크기에 따른 반응 특성)

  • SnO$_2$를 모물질로 하는 가스센서는 n형 산화물 반도체로서 공기중의 산소의 흡탈착 및 전자의 수수에 의해 전기전도도의 변화로 특정 가스를 감지한다. 지금까지 반도체식 가스센서의 모물질로 가장 많이 연구되어 왔지만 아직도 선택성, 안정성 등 여러 가지 문제를 안고 있다. 그리고 개선방안으로 귀금속 촉매의 첨가 및 입자의 크기의 조절 등이 흔히 연구되어 왔다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 순수한 SnO$_2$ 를 이용하여 소결 온도 및 입자 크기에 의한 영향을 CO가스 및 수분에 대한 감도, 반응 시간을 통해 알아보았다. 수열 합성 및 침전 법으로 나노 크기의 SnO$_2$ 분말을 합성하여 스크린 인쇄법으로 후막 가스센서를 제조하였다 침전법에서 SnCl$_4$에 암모니아수로 pH=10.5로 적정하여 SnO$_2$ 분말을 얻었다. 그리고 입자 크기를 조절하기 위해 수열 합성 시 autoclave 내의 수열처리 온도를 100, 150, 20$0^{\circ}C$로 조절하여 SnO$_2$ 분말을 제조하고 입자 크기와 성분분석을 위해 XRD, SEM, TEM, BET 측정을 하였다. 그 결과 침전법으로 제조한 입자의 크기는 20nm 정도였으며 수열 처리한 SnO$_2$ 입자는 10nm이하의 미세한 입자를 얻을 수 있었다. 수열 합성 시 온도가 높아질수록 더 작은 입자 크기를 얻을 수 있었고 600, 7()0, 80$0^{\circ}C$ 열처리 후 입자성장이 침전법에 의한 SnO$_2$ 분말보다 더 작게 일어났다. 이렇게 제조한 나노크기의 SnO$_2$ 분말을 이용하여 습도 및 CO 가스에 대한 그 특실을 평가하였다. CO 20ppm에 대하여 40%정도의 감도를 보였으며 입자가 작아질수록 높은 감도를 보이는 것을 확인 할 수 있었다. 반면 CO 가스와 반응 후 회복 시 입자 의기가 작아질수록 회복이 늦어짐을 알 수 있었다. 그리고 15$0^{\circ}C$에서 습도에 대한 반응 후 회복시간을 조사해보니 같은 결과를 얻을 수 있었다. 이것은 입자 필기가 작아질수록 많은 흡착 사이트를 제공함으로써 높은 감도를 가지지만 반면 다량의 흡착된 가스들이 탈착 하는데 더 많은 시간이 소요되었기 때문이다.

  • The catalytic activity and selectivity of metal loaded H-mordenite for transalkylation of $C_9$ aromatics were studied in a continuous flow fixed bed reactor under high pressure. Nickel loaded H-mordenite(T-Ni) catalyst showed high activity and slow decay of activity. Molybdenum and nickel loaded H-mordenite(T-NiMo) catalyst also showed high activity and suppressed coking of hydrocarbons. The selectivity of xylene for T-Ni and T-NiMo catalysts decreased with temperature, but that for T catalyst(commercial grade) monotonically increased with temperature within the experimental range. The performance of T-Ni and T-NiMo catalysts was better than that of T catalyst in terms of initial activity and its decay. The addition of Mo improved slightly stability of T-Ni catalyst.

  • The combined process of Sliding Arc Plasma and corona dielectric barrier discharge process (CDBD) was used to efficiently improve harmful substance, which convert into OH radicals which have strong oxidation potential, and so have deodorization and sterilizing effects, by generating specific radicals and anion and then reacting with the moisture contained in harmful substance. As a result of experiment, even if the size of SAP reactor is reduced from 80 A to 50 A, there is no much change and therefore it is judged the size of reactor may be minimized. And it was confirmed that after the anion and ozone generated from CDBD rector react with harmful substance, a anion was reduced from 510,000 ppb to 470 ppb and ozone from 98 ppb to 22 ppb. It was also judged the stability and durability of plasma producer are excellent. Accordingly, it is considered the harmful substances which exist in indoor air quality will be efficiently improved and removed by using further plasma combined process through this study.

  • Dissolution rate of minerals may differ from climates configuration, but weathering rate of feldspars is generally proved to be relatively higher The result of geochemical reaction modeling indicates the acid water of pH 4.5 excluding any other variables, was 2.3 times higher than that in ordinary rain of pH 5.7. This result proved that pH is very important factor in preservation of granite cultural properties. To prevent the weathering of stone cultural properties, weathering characteristics of stones should be studied first and constitution of dry environments, using water repellent or oil coating, isolating water which cause chemical weathering reaction like hydration and oxidization should be considered. Considering the long-term reactions between granite and rain, selection of materials, which can bring neutralization and non-oxidization conditions, are very important in using cleaning agents and biological controls.

  • Carbon nanotubes and nanowires were prepared by methane pyrolysis over Pd(5)/SPK catalyst by changing oxygen molar ratio in a fixed bed flow reactor under atmospheric condition and also analyzed by SEM and TEM. When the $CH_4/O_2$ molar ratio was 1, carbons were not almost deposited on the catalyst bed support, but when it was 2, carbons were deposited as much as plugging reactor. TEM and SEM images for the deposited carbons showed a number of single-walled carbon nanotubes and carbon nanowires. The growth mechanism of carbon nanotubes produced on the catalyst surface was the tip growth mode. It should be played an important role in carbon nanotubes and nanowires produced on the catalyst bed support to formate the carbon growth velocity vectors and nuclei of ring structure of carbon nanowires. SPK carrier was $N_2$ isotherm of IV type with mesopores, and excellent in the thermal stability.

Synthesis of Cobalt Hydroxide Nanosheets based on Sonication-induced Exfoliation for Depolymerization of Polyethylene Terephthalate (폴리에틸렌 테레프탈레이트의 해중합을 위한 초음파 박리법 기반의 코발트 수산화물 나노시트의 제조)

  • In this work, ultrathin and two-dimensional (2D) cobalt hydroxide [Co(OH)2] nanosheets were synthesized by a sonication assisted liquid-phase exfoliation of bulk Co(OH)2. The resulting exfoliated Co(OH)2 is a hexagonal mono-layered nanosheet with a high specific surface area of 27.5 ㎡ g-1. The depolymerization of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) based on glycolysis reaction was also performed using an exfoliated Co(OH)2 catalyst. Excellent catalytic reaction performances were demonstrated; a high PET conversion and bis(2-hydroxyethyl) terephthalate (BHET) yield of both 100% using the nanosheet catalyst were achieved within a reaction time and temperature of 30 min and 200 ℃, respectively. The long-term stability of exfoliated Co(OH)2 catalysts was also demonstrated by recyclability tests of the catalyzed glycolysis reaction of PET over four cycles, showing both 100% of high PET conversion and BHET yield.

Aspergillus nidulans가 생산하는 Naringi-nase에 관한 연구 (제4보) 고정화 Naringinase의 조제와 그 성질

  • Aspergillus nidulans가 생산하는 naringinase를 ionic binding method 로써 DEAE-Sephadex A-25 를 사용하여 고정화시키는 조건과 그 고정화 효소의 성질에 대하여 검토하였다. 먼저 담체에 흡착되는 효소의 최적 pH는 6.0이었고 조제효소 110units 당 이상적인 담체량은 건조된 담체 1g이었다. 고정화 naringinase의 반응 최적 pH와 온도는 7.0과 5$0^{\circ}C$로서 native enzyme 보다 각각 높았다. 다음은 고정화 효소의 안정성에 미치는 pH와 온도의 영향으로서, pH 5에서 중성의 pH까지는 안정하였고 온도는 5$0^{\circ}C$까지는 안정하였으나 6$0^{\circ}C$ 이상에서는 뚜렷한 activity의 감소를 보였다.

Heading Date of Wheat and Barley III. Factorial Analysis of Wheat Varieties on Earliness (맥류의 출수기에 관한 연구 III. 소맥품종의 조숙성 변이에 관한 요인분석)

  • As a basic study for development of early wheats an experiment was carried out at four sites of Korea by use of 60 varieties. Analysis of variance for heading and maturing dates revealed that there were highly significant among varieties, but not significant among variety x location-interactions, thus indicating the stable response for earliness at all locations of each variety. Grain filling periods of each variety showed the stable response at all locations like those of heading and maturing dates, however, there showed significance among locations for early group, and among varieties for late group. High correlations were between growth habit and winter survival for early varieties, and between shortday length and grain filling period for late one. Interior factors most closely related to heading date were growth habit and winter survival, and winter survival showed highly negative correlation with heading date. It needs to breed the early wheats adaptable for southern and/or northern areas separatively. The earlier heading and maturing dates of wheats were, the shorter internodes of culm are, appearing the outstanding phenomenon in early wheats. Heading date appeared negative correlations with test weight and with number of culm before winter, but showed positive correlation with number of kernels/spike.
