Evaluating Impressions of Robots According to the Robot's Embodiment Level and Response Speed (로봇의 외형 구체화 정도 및 반응속도에 따른 로봇 인상 평가)

  • Nowadays, as many robots are developed for desktop, users interact with the robots based on speech. However, due to technical limitations related to speech-based interaction, an alternative is needed. We designed this research to design a robot that interacts with the user by using unconditional reflection of biological signals. In order to apply bio-signals to robots more effectively, we evaluated the robots' overall service evaluation, perceived intelligence, appropriateness, trustworthy, and sociability according to the degree of the robot's embodiment level and the response speed of the robot. The result showed that in terms of intelligence and appropriateness, 3D robot with higher embodiment level was more positively evaluated than 2D robot with lower embodiment level. Also, the robot with faster response rate was evaluated more favorably in overall service evaluation, intelligence, appropriateness, trustworthy, and sociability than the robot with slower response rate. In addition, in service evaluation, trustworthy, and sociability, there were interaction effects according to the robot's embodiment level and the response speed.

  • 최근 C-H 수소결합의 강한 상한 상호작용에 의하여 blue shift를 나타내는 현상이 보고 되고 있다. 비정질 불화탄소의 화학적 이동유기 절연막의 경우, 화학적 이동의 원인은 매우 서로 다른 원인에 발생하지만 이러한 물질의 상호작용은 친핵성 첨가반응에 의한 것임을 확인하였다. a-C:F 박막의 화학적 이동은 XRD 패턴에 의해서 결합 구조와 연관이 있으며, C-H 결합이 불소에 의한 끌림현상으로부터 발생되면서 비정질 구조로 변하는 것을 확인하였다.

The Effect of Young children's Empathicability and Interpersonal competence in Forming relationships on Caring behavior (유아의 배려행동에 미치는 공감능력과 대인관계형성능력의 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of young children's empathic ability and interpersonal competence on caring behavior in forming relationships. Subjects included 152 4- and 5-year-old children attending a kindergarten located in a micropolitan city. Questionnaires required self-reporting by teachers, and were used to investigate young children's caring behavior, empathic ability and interpersonal competence in forming relationships. Data was analyzed using t-test, Pearson's correlation coefficient analysis and Stepwise-Regression analysis. Results were as follows: First, young children's caring behavior was negatively correlated with empathic ability and positively associated with interpersonal competence in forming relationships. Second, young children's emotional behavior as each domain of caring behavior were predictable variables for explaining the relative effect of the social reactivity and explaining the relative effect of relationship formation. Active behaviors were predictable variables for explaining the relative effect of follow-up instructions, but negatively affected mental burden. Normative behaviors were predictable variables for explaining the relative effect of social reactivity, but negatively predictable variables for explaining the relative effect of the relationship formation and mental burden. Value-contributing behavior in each domain of caring behavior were predictable variables for explaining the relative effect of the positive interaction.

A Cross-cultural Comparison of Parent-child Emotional Reactions to Task Results Using a Computer-based Observational Assessment (아동 수행 결과에 대한 부모-자녀 정서 반응 비교 문화 연구 - 컴퓨터 행동관찰 분석기법 활용 -)

  • 본 연구는 아동의 학습 과제 수행 이후에 보이는 부모와 아동의 정서적 반응이 문화에 따라 어떠한 차이를 나타내는지 알아보기 위해 한국계 이민자 가정과 백인가정을 대상으로 실시하였다. 미국 서북부 시애틀 지역의 8에서 9세 사이의 자녀를 둔 31 한국계 가정과 31백인 가정이 연구에 참여하였다. 연구를 위해 각 가정을 방문하였고 각 가정의 부모와 아동의 정서 반응을 비디오로 촬영하여 비교 분석하였다. 컴퓨터를 이용한 초 단위 행동 분석 결과 아동이 과제에 실패했을 때 한국계 어머니들과 아동들의 긴장과 불안 행동이 미국 백인 어머니들과 아동들보다 더 많이 나타났다. 아동의 과제 실패시, 어머니들의 부정적인 정서표현도 한국계 이민자 가정에서 더 많이 표출되었다. 아동들이 과제에 성공했을 때는 미국 백인 어머니들과 아동들이 좀 더 긍정적인 정서 반응을 많이 하였고 특히 백인 어머니들이 적극적 칭찬 등의 긍정적인 피드백을 주었다. 흥미 있게 아동들의 과제 성공 후에도 한국계 이민자 가정의 어머니들이 부정적인 정서 표출이 더 많았다. 자녀의 성에 따른 상호작용의 차이를 알아본 결과, 한국계 이민자 가정에서는 성차가 나타나지 않았고 미국 백인 가정의 부모들이 남자아이들에게 더 긍정적인 정서 표현을 보였다.

Investigation of a Mentor-Teacher Qualification Standard through the Analysis of Interaction in Mentoring Conversations (멘토링 대화에서 나타나는 상호작용 분석을 통한 멘토 전문성에 대한 고찰)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate a mentor-teacher qualification standard to support professional development for beginning secondary science teachers. The participants were four mentee teachers and four mentor-teachers. The relationship between the development of beginning science teachers teaching practice and characteristics of the mentoring and interactions was investigated by analyzing conversations between mentor and mentee teachers during the collaborative mentoring. Three mentoring conversation records and transcripts during mentoring program were collected. An analytical framework of mentoring conversations was used in the analysis of mentoring conversations and RTOP was used for lesson analysis to determine the development of teaching practice. The results show that the types of interactions during mentoring varied according to the mentoring teams. Mentors who encouraged reflective thinking induced a higher level of teaching in their mentees. The mentor qualification standard was determined from the relationship between the characteristics of the interaction and the improvement in beginning teacher's teaching practice. To be an effective mentor, the mentor should be able to 1) lead the interaction in a manner that encourages the exchange of opinions, 2) induce reflective thinking and ability to achieve reflective practice following reflective thinking, 3) provide clear explanations and suggest detailed methods, 4) lead conversations that encourage reflective thinking with questions about teaching supported techniques.

  • 본 논문은 광주과학기술원(GIST)에서 개발하고 있는 전남지역 '운주사'의 천불천탑 설화를 근간으로 한 반응형 가상 문화 체험 시스템(Responsive Multimedia System for virtual storytelling)의 햅틱 변형 상호작용에 관한 것이다. 기존의 디지털 문화재 체험 시스템은 사실적인 체험을 제공하기 위해 시각 및 청각 기술 개발에 많은 연구 및 노력이 이루어져왔다. 그러나 최근 인간의 인지 체계의 중요 요소인 촉감 상호작용의 중요성이 증대 됨에 따라, 본 논문에서는 가상 문화재 체험을 위한 햅틱 변형 알고리즘 및 상호작용 시스템을 개발하여 가상 불상을 만져보고 그 표면을 변형시키게 함으로써 몰입감을 증대하고 재미를 주는 시스템을 제공하였다. 아울러 체험의 몰입감 증대를 위해 본 시스템은 시/청각과 더불어 청각 효과를 가미하여 체험 시 발생되는 주변 환경의 소리(새, 물, 바람소리)를 제공하고, 기존의 문화체험 시스템과의 차별성을 위해 3 차원 입력장치를 이용하여 체험자가 직접 가상 불상을 변형시키면서 체험자 고유의 작품을 만들어낼 수 있는 상호작용을 제공한다. 따라서 제안된 햅틱 변형 상호작용 시스템은 체험자의 능동적 참여 및 흥미 유발을 통하여 문화 유산에 대한 교육적 효과 및 관심 증대에 기여할 수 있을 것이라 여겨진다.

Analysis on Children Robot Interaction with Dramatic Playes for Better Augmented Reality (어린이 극놀이 증강현실감을 위한 아동로봇상호작용 분석)

  • This study highlights the effectiveness of analyzing the feelings children have when interacting with robots in a dramatic play setting using augmented reality in Human Robot Interaction (HRI). Existing dramatic play activities using robots by QR-markers were edited, and their weaknesses have been corrected so that children could interact more effectively with robots. Additionally, children's levels of interest and engagement in dramatic play activities, the accuracy of robotic props, and the smartness of robots were analyzed throughout children's interactions during such activities using augmented reality. Younger participants were more likely to find robots interesting and intelligent, and participants with no previous experience with robots had relatively higher levels of interest in robots and tended to notice changes in robots' costumes.

  • Plants can affect adversely the interaction among herbivores by inducing insect resistance chemicals and change of attack behavior of natural enemies. Also, plants may induce favorable effects to herbivores by production of allelochemicals, nutritional variation, or morphological changes. In this review, we examined the effects of the interaction among herbivores mediated by plants and plant-response induced by insect attack, or the life history strategies of insects on the community structure of herbivore insects, and discussed its ecological significance in community level.

Effects of an Intervention Program for Mother-Child Interaction Behaviors of Mothers with Developmentally Delayed Young Children (발달지체유아 어머니의 모-자 상호작용 행동 증진 프로그램의 효과 연구)

  • The study examined the effects of an intervention program for improving mother-child interaction behaviors of mothers with developmentally delayed young children. The program consisted of three main activities, lectures for good parenting, video-feedback of mother-child interactions, and consultation for problem behaviors of children. The subjects were 4 mothers of 5-6 years old children with developmental delays who were referred to a social competence program of a child counseling center. The mothers were identified to have problematic mother-child interaction behaviors through clinical interviews. The program ran for 16 sessions, one parent group leader implemented each session for 90-120 minutes once a week. The videotaped data of mother-child interactions for 10 minutes every 4 sessions were estimated by Maternal Behavior Rating Scale(MBRS) and qualitatively analyzed by transcription of communications between mothers and their children. It concluded that the intervention program enhanced mother-child interaction behaviors.

  • 단백질 상호작용(Protein-Protein interaction : PPI )은 생명체 내에서 생명현상을 유지하기 위한 단백질 간의 유기적인 반응이다. 생물학 실험 도구의 발달로 현재 대량의 PPI 데이터가 발생하고 있으며 이것을 활용하여 생명체를 시스템 관점에서 이해하기 위한 시도가 진행되고 있다. 하지만 현재 PPI 데이터는 중복의 문제, 생물학자들 간의 용어사용의 불일치성 문제로 인해 데이터의 질이 저하되어 분석결과에 부정적인 영향을 끼치고 있다. 본 논문에서는 현재 인간 PPI 데이터의 문제점을 분석하고 이것을 해결하기 위한 온톨로지 기반의 데이터 정제 방법론을 제시한다. 본 연구를 통해 HPRD내에 존재하고 있던 약 52%의 결함이 있는 데이터를 발견하고 인간 단백질 상호작용 데이터의 품질을 향상시켰다.
