Physical and Mechanical Properties of Synthetic Lightweight Aggregate Concrete (인공경량골재(人工輕量骨材) 콘크리트 물리(物理)·역학적(力學的) 특성(特性))

  • The normal cement concrete is widely used material to build the construction recently, but it has a fault to increase the dead load on account of its unit weight is large compared with strength. Therefore, many engineers are continuously searching for new materials of construction to provide greater performance at lower density. The main purpose of the work described in this paper were to establish the physical and mechanical properties of synthetic lightweight aggregate concrete using perlite on fine aggregate and expanded clay, pumice stone on coarse aggregate. The test results of this study are summarized that the water-cement ratio was shown 47% using expanded clay, 56% using pumice stone on coarse aggregate, unit weight was shown $l,622kgf/m^3$ using expanded clay, $l,596kgf/m^3$ using pumice stone on coarse aggregate, and the absorption ratio was shown same as 17%. The compressive strength was shown more than $228kgf/cm^2$, tensile and bending strength was more than $27kgf/cm^2$, $58kgf/cm^2$ at all types, and rebound number with schmidt hammer was increased with increase of compressive strength. The static modulus was $1.12{\times}10^5kgf/cm^2$ using expanded clay, $1.09{\times}10^5kgf/cm^2$ using pumice stone on coarse aggregate, and stress-strain curves were shown that increased with increase of stress, and the strain on the maximum stress was shown identical with $2.0{\times}10^{-3}$, approximately.

  • The purpose of this study was to calculate three dimensional angular displacements, moments and joint reaction forces of the ankle joint during the waist pulling, and to assess the ankle joint reaction forces according to different perturbation modes and different levels of perturbation magnitude. Ankle joint model was assumed 3-D ball and socket joint which is capable of three rotational movements. We used 6 cameras, force plate and waist pulling system. Two different waist pulling systems were adopted for forward sway with three magnitudes each. From motion data and ground reaction forces, we could calculate 3-D angular displacements, moments and joint reaction forces during the recovery of postural balance control. From the experiment using falling mass perturbation, joint moments were larger than those from the experiment using air cylinder pulling system with milder perturbation. However, JRF were similar nevertheless the difference in joint moment. From this finding, we could conjecture that the human body employs different strategies to protect joints by decreasing joint reaction forces, like using the joint movement of flexion or extension or compensating joint reaction force with surrounding soft tissues. Therefore, biomechanical analysis of human ankle joint presented in this study is considered useful for understanding balance control and ankle injury mechanism.

  • Generalized van der Waals equation of state combined with the core-softening theory and temperature dependent repulsive and attractive terms exhibit the anomalous thermal expansion, i.e. density anomaly. Density maxima occur at both positive and negative pressure when the hard-core diameter decreases with increasing temperature, $db_r/dT_r<0$, and at negative pressure when the repulsive force increases with increasing temperature, $da_r/dT_r>0$.

  • To increase the properties of EVA foam such as tensile strength, rebound resilience, and compression set, ethylene-1-butene copolymer (EtBC) was blended with EVA. After that crosslink characteristics of the blends and cell structures and mechanical properties of the foam were studied. As the amount of EtBC increased in EVA/EtBC blends, torque values of oscillating disc rheometer(ODR) increased and the foaming ratio decreased because the viscosity and crosslink density of EVA/EtBC blends increased. Foaming ratio and cell size of the foam increased by increasing the amount of foaming agent. When compared the mechanical properties of the foam which have same densities, tensile strength, rebound resilience, and compression set properties of the foam were improved by increasing the amount of EtBC in the EVA/EtBC blends.

A Study on the Characteristics of River Sediments and the Rebound Strength of Rock and Sediment in Dong River (동강의 하천 퇴적물의 입자 특성 및 암석의 반발 강도 특성에 대한 연구)

  • The grain size characteristics of river sediments and the characteristics of bedrock were investigated for the 24km section of the Dong River upstream of the Han River. The bedrock of the study area is various limestone belonging to the Paleozoic Choseon limestone group, and Mesozoic sandstone and conglomerate occur in some areas. Most of the river channel is made of limestone, and most of the river bottom is covered with fluvial sediments. More than 70% of these sediments are sandstone and conglomerate, rather than limestone which forms the basis of the valley. Sediment particles seem to have been supplied upstream of the study area rather supplied from the slope near of the channel. It is difficult to find the statistically significant difference in the shape of the sediment particles of limestones and non-limestones. However, limestones has platy forms rather than block forms, it can be assumed that the limestone was supplied from the surrounding valley wall and transported over a short distance. The particle sizes of DG1~DG2(the upstream section) are decreasing in the downstream direction. However, at DG3, which is a tributary, Jijangcheon, confluence particle size increases and at DG4 particle size increases more. In the case of DG4, it may be influenced by the influx of tributaries, but it also can be supposed as the impact of the large flood in 2002. In the downstream parts(DG5~DG7), the particle size decreases exponentially with distance. The rebound strength of stream sediments and bedrock was measured by using Schmidt hammer. Limestone showed lower rebound strength than non-limestone. According to the results of the sediment and bedrock, it can be seen that the sandstone and conglomerate with high rebound values pass through valley with the relatively low strength limestone. The sediments of limestone were decreased in grain size more rapidly than those of limestone sediments.

Study on the Physical Properties according to the Anisotropy of Granite (화강암의 이방성에 따른 물리적 특성 연구)

  • This study is to clarify the comparative relationship and a mechanical anisotropy of rock on the subject of granite distributed in the Namwon area Uniaxial compressive and Brazilian strengths with respect to the horizontal and vertical axes of granite are shown the linear relation. In the case of the result of the p-wave velocity measurement. it is represented that the velocity of vortical direction is faster about 10 to 15% than other two horizontal directions. The difference between velocities is caused by a developmental pattern of microcracks distributed in rock. Moreover, this result is very consistent with the result investigated through thin sections. The proportion of uniaxial compression strength to Index of point load strength ($Is_{(50)}$) is 18~20 times in case of granite. Uniaxial compressive strength is relatively good relationship with point load strength, Schmidt hammer rebound value, and tensile strength point load strength of them is the best comparative relationship. It is indicated that point load test is the most useful tool to estimate uniaxial compressive strength, comparing with other experimental methods.

A Study on the Application of Non-Destructive Testing Equation for the Estimation of Compressive Strength of High Strength Concrete (고강도콘크리트의 압축강도 추정을 위한 비파괴시험식의 적용성에 관한 연구)

  • Recently, it is being studied on the high strength concrete in many laboratories and being applied to the construction field actually. But non-destruction testing equation that to be proposed about normal strength concrete in Japan has been using because the systematic study results for the estimation of compressive strength of high strength concrete do nit exist. So it is essential to suggest the non-destruction testing equation for the estimation of compressive strength of high strength concrete. This is an experimental study to analyze and investigate the non-destruction testing equation for the estimation of compressive strength of high strength concrete. The results are as follows; The relation between rebound number, pulse velocity and compressive strength of high strength concrete have lower coefficient than combined method of rebound number and pulse velocity. Also new non-destructive testing equation for the estimation on the compressive strength of high strength concrete was suggested in this study, and it is considered that these equations have possibility to be applied in domestic construction field.

Los Angeles Abrasion Test for Estimating Engineering Index on the Sedimentary Rocks of Kyeongsang Basin (퇴적암의 공학지수를 추정하기 위한 L. A. 마모율 시험)

  • Los Angeles abrasion loss test has usally been applied to the quarry for the purpose of aggregate hardness estimation. 324 blocks from 25 sites of Kyeongsang basin samples of sedimentary rock were examined and tested in laboratary. This paper found that L. A. abrasion loss test is a good method to estimate engineering index such as uniaxial compressive strength, elastic modulus, indirect tensile strength, point load strength index, Schmidt hammer rebound value of sedimentary rocks with high correlation factor. Engineers will prefer L. A. abrasion loss test to the other one for design and construction as this method is quick and easy.

애니메이션 총량제 도입 논란- “토종 TV 애니를 살려내라”

  • 애니메이션 편성시간대를 6시대에서 4시30분대로 옮기려는 KBS의 시도가 업계의 거센 반발에 직면해 일단 무산되기는 했지만, 애니메이션 방영시간의 안정적인 확보를 위해서는 현행 방송법을 개정해야 한다는 목소리가 높아지고 있다. 이를 위해 애니메이션 제작자협회 · 애니메이션예술인협회 · 만화애니메이션학회 · 출판만화협회 · 우리만화연대 · 만화가협회 등 6개 관련 단체와 만화가 등 애니메이션 업계는‘방송용 애니메이션 발전전략 촉구 및 개정을 위한 범 만화 · 애니메이션계 공동대책위원회’를 발족, 애니메이션 발전을 위한 대책 강구에 나서고 있다. 공대위는 지난해 11월 초에는 방송 애니메이션 총량제를 강화한 방송법 개정안의 연내 통과와 방송사의 애니메이션 편성 정책 시정을 촉구하는 집회도 열며 총력전을 벌이고 있다. 하지만 지난해내 입법화를 기대했던 애니총량제는 방송법 개정 지연으로 불투명해진데다 최근 들어 중국 · 일본 정부가 강도 높은 애니메이션 육성책을 추진하고 있을 뿐 아니라 제4차 일본 문화개방도 이어지고 있어 국내 애니 업계의 위기감은 더욱 거세지고 있다. 신성장산업인 애니메이션 산업 활성화를 위해서는 애니총량제 등의 법 · 제도적 장치가 마련돼지 않으면 국내 애니메이션 산업은 더욱 깊은 수렁으로 빠질 것이라 게 업계의 공통된 시각이다.

  • TBM 터널굴진시 공법적합성을 평가하기 위한 현장조사 및 물리탐사와 세부지질조사를 수행하였다. 해당지역은 부산시 진구 가야동과 동구 수정동이며 인근 수원지인 덕정정수장에서 생산하는 수돗물을 수정산 배수지까지 확대 공급함으로서 송수공급 계통의 이원화로 안정적인 수돗물공급을 수행하기 위한 배수지터널이다. 이론적으로 굴착속도는 암반의 반발경도, 일축압축강도, 석영함량 및 각종 지질특성에 의하여 좌우되는데, 실지 시공에 있어서는 현장여건상 지질조건이나 일축압축강도등 한정된 자료들을 토대로 시공에 임할 수밖에 없다. 이러한 한계를 극복하기 위한 모형개발을 목표로 본 연구에서는 다양한 현장시험을 토대로 한 TBM 굴진 적합성을 검토하고자 하였다. 국내 시공경험상 및 지질특성만을 고려 할 때 본 과업구간의 TBM 적용성은 양호할 것으로 판단하였으나, 뚜렷한 근거에 의거하지 않은 설계는 시공단계에서 엄청난 손실을 야기하게 되므로 보다 상세한 검토를 수행하게 되었다. 본 연구에서는 TBM 공법선정의 적합성을 검토하기 각종 조사 자료들을 정리하였고, 국내시험의 한계점들을 극복하기 위한 적합한 모형개발의 필요성을 제시하고자 하였다.
