  • Electrical conduction characteristics of crosslinked polyethylene(XLPE) were investigated using an electrode made of semicon material containing a surfactant. When the semicon material is used as an electrode the conduction of XLPE obeys a space charge limited conduction(SCLC) mechanism which holds true for both control and surfactant-containing semicon electrodes. Conduction currents get higher with the addition of surfactant in the semicon electrodes while the charge mobility increases with the increase of surfactant content in the semicon electrode. The diffusion of surfactant molecules into the XLPE was confirmed via a $\mu$-FTIR analysis. It was found through a measurement of spatial charge distributions that the surfactant in the semicon electrodes enhances the injection of negative charge into the XLPE from the electrode. Experimental results and their origins are discussed in detail.

  • In this paper, we investigated resistant immunity of semiconductive shield materials in power cables' ordinary operation temperature. It used EEA(Ethylene Ethyl Acrylate) in base polymer and measured TGA(Thermal Gravimetric Analysis) in controlling contents. It increased pyrolysis temperature in content increasement of CNT(Carbon Nanotubes). As a result, we knew superiority that CNT:CB is 10:0.

  • In this paper, we investigated impurity content of carbon nanotube reinforced semiconductive shield materials and conventional semiconductive shield materials in power cables. To reduce impurity content, we used solution compounding method that an adding process of extra additives neglected. Impurity content measured through ICP-AES(Inductively Coupled Plasma Atomic Emission Spectroscopy). Also, impurity measured Ca, Cu, Fe, Al, Mg, Na, K, Si in eight. As a result, carbon nanotube reinforced semiconductive shield materials is lower than conventional semiconductive shield materials in impurity content by ICP-AES.

  • Thermal and mechanical properties were investigated in several semi-conductive materials which is composed of carbon black and polymer. EVA, EEA, and EBA is normally used for matrix polymer and normally acetylene black and furnace black is used. Isothermal thermo gravimetric analysis is done as a function of atmosphere and temperature. In nitrogen atmosphere semicon compound was slowly degradaded but in ambient condition degradaded fast. So in the cable manufacturing, atmosphere and materials are very important.

  • In this work, the effects of plasma treatment on surface properties of semi conductive silicone rubber were investigated in terms of X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS). The adhesion characteristics of semiconductive-insulating interface layer of silicone rubber were studied by measuring the T-peel strengths. As a result, semiconductive silicone rubber surfaces treated with plasma discharge led to and increase in oxygen-containing functional groups, resulting in improving the degree of adhesion of the semiconductive-insulating interface layer of silicone rubber. these results are probably due to the modifications of surface functional groups or polar component of surface free energy of the semi conductive silicone rubber.

  • The use of forklift trucks in logistical warehouses, etc. is generalized; however, the accidents of rollover of the forklift truck have occurred frequently. In general, in order to solve a problem, many people attempt to solve the problem by using computer simulation or simulators which is composed of reduced hardware. Therefore, in this paper, we analyze the problem existed in forklift truck and we also explain the concept of a mechanism to prevent the rollover of forklift truck. In addition, we propose the configuration of simulator system and a designed simulator to prevent the rollover of forklift truck.

  • Recently the research on artificial intelligence is actively processing in the fields of diagnosis and prediction. In this paper, we acquire the data of electrical current, revolution per minute (RPM) and vibration that is occurred in the motor and pump where hey are installed in the industrial fields. We train the acquired data by using the k-nearest neighbors. Also, we propose the status diagnosis methods that judges normal and abnormal status of motor and pump by using the trained data. As a proposed result, we confirm that normal status and abnormal status are well judged.

  • The electromagnetic signals associated with the seismic activity in the south-east offshore of Kii peninsula, Japan, were clearly recorded at the MT sites in Jeju island, Korea. In this research, we have identified the co-seismic electromagnetic signals associated with the seismic activity and have analyzed the characteristics of significant electromagnetic variations. The analysis of phase velocity, power spectral density, MT impedance and polarization direction shows that the significant earthquake signals have the frequency band of about 0.05 to 0.5 Hz and that the sources of electromagnetic field are local effects of passing seismic waves. The simple approximation using electrokinetic effect successfully explains the co-seismic EM signals coincides with measured data but cannot explain the localities of electromagnetic variations.

  • PET/CT is a medical equipment that detects 0.511 MeV of gamma rays. The radiation workers are inevitably exposed to ionizing radiation in the process of handling the isotope. Accordingly, PET/CT workers use syringe shields made of lead and tungsten to protect their hands. However, lead and tungsten are known to generate very high scattering particles by interacting with gamma rays. Therefore, in this study, we tried to find out the effect on the scattering particles emitted from the syringe shield. In the experiment, first, the exposure dose to the hand (Rod phantom) was evaluated according to the metal material (lead, tungsten, iron, stainless steel) using Monte Carlo simulation. The exposure dose was compared according to whether or not plastic is attached. Second, the exposure dose of scattering particles was measured using a dosimeter and lead. As a result of the experiment, the shielding rate of plastics using the Monte Carlo simulation showed the largest difference in dose of about 40 % in lead, and the lowest in iron, about 15 %. As a result of the dosimeter test, when the plastic tape was wound on lead, it was found that the reduction rate was about 15 %, 28 %, and 39 % depending on the thickness. Based on the above results, it was found that 0.511 MeV of gamma ray interacts with the shielding tool to emit scattered rays and has a very large effect on radiation exposure. However, it was considered that the scattering particles could be sufficiently removed with plastics with a low atomic number. From now on, when using high-energy radiation, the shielding tool and the skin should not be in direct contact, and should be covered with a material with a low atomic number.

  • The CMR properties and magnetic properties of sulphospinels $Zn_xFe_{1-x}Cr_2S_4$ have been explored by X-ray diffraction, magnetoresistance measurement, and $M\ddot{o}ssbauer$ spectroscopy. The crystal structures in the range of x=0.05, 0.1, 0.2 are cubic at room temperature. Magnetoresistance measurement indicates that these system is semiconducting below about 160 K. The temperature of maximum magnetoresistance is almost consistent with Curie temperature. The Zn substitutions for Fe occur to increase the Jahn-Teller relaxation and the electric quadrupole shift. CMR properties could be explained with Jahn-Teller effect, and half-metallic electronic structure, which is different from both the double exchange interactions of manganite La-Ca-Mn-O system and the triple exchange interactions of chalcogenide $Cu_xFe_{1-x}Cr_2S_4$.
