Study on Heart Rate Variability and PSD Analysis of PPG Data for Emotion Recognition (감정 인식을 위한 PPG 데이터의 심박변이도 및 PSD 분석)

  • In this paper, we propose a method of recognizing emotions using PPG sensor which measures blood flow according to emotion. From the existing PPG signal, we use a method of determining positive emotions and negative emotions in the frequency domain through PSD (Power Spectrum Density). Based on James R. Russell's two-dimensional prototype model, we classify emotions as joy, sadness, irritability, and calmness and examine their association with the magnitude of energy in the frequency domain. It is significant that this study used the same PPG sensor used in wearable devices to measure the top four kinds of emotions in the frequency domain through image experiments. Through the questionnaire, the accuracy, the immersion level according to the individual, the emotional change, and the biofeedback for the image were collected. The proposed method is expected to be various development such as commercial application service using PPG and mobile application prediction service by merging with context information of existing smart phone.

The Effect of Oriental Medical Treatment on Crohn's disease; 1 Case Report (항통을 주소로 내원(來院)한 크론병(Chron's disease) 호전 1례)

  • Objective: This study evaluated the effects of Oriental treatments on one patient who was diagnosed to Crohn's disease. Methods: One patient was diagnosed as Crohn's disease by physician. We used acupuncture and moxibustion at 曲池(LI11), 天樞(S25), 足三里(ST36), 合谷(LI4) and (GL25), 2 times per week about one month. We analyzed the change symptom by Crohn's disease activity index(Harvey-Bradshaw index) before and after treatment. Results: After treating acupuncture and moxibustion in the case, We found out that the Crohn's disease activity index score was significantly improved after treatment. First the number of liquid or very soft stool was decreased to 2 times a day and the stools became more solid condition. The abdominal pain and use of anti-diarrhea medication score came to none. The well being score set slightly below poor condition. Conclusions: These result suggest acupuncture, moxibustion were effective to Crohn's disease clinical symptom. These could help patient ordinary life by reducing abdominal pain and diarrhea.

Logistics Peculiarities for the Firms in the Daegu-Gyeongbuk Area (대구.경북지역 기업의 물류특성 분석)

  • This paper qualitatively describes logistics behaviors of 113 companies located in Daegu-Gyeongbuk by considering various characteristics such as business location, trade volume, cargo types and the possession of company's own warehouse. A logit model is developed to investigate how predictor variables affect these companies' inclination of utilizing Third Party Logistics Provider(3PL). The estimation results of 102 effective data points show that among the four predictors the location of company's HQs (HQADD) and trade volume (TRDTEU) significantly increase company's tendency towards utilizing 3PL while the remaining two variables (BULK, WAREHS) imparting statistically insignificant influence. The results indicate that those companies located outside the region tend to implement a strategy of using more 3PL and also that the larger the trade volume of the company the more 3PL the company uses to improve the efficiency in logistics.

Index block mapping for flash memory system (플래쉬 메모리 시스템을 위한 인덱스 블록 매핑)

  • Flash memory is non-volatile and can retain data even after system is powered off. Besides, it has many other features such as fast access speed, low power consumption, attractive shock resistance, small size, and light-weight. As its price decreases and capacity increases, the flash memory is expected to be widely used in consumer electronics, embedded systems, and mobile devices. Flash storage systems generally adopt a software layer, called FTL. In this research, we proposed a new FTL mechanism for overcoming the major drawback of conventional block mapping algorithm. In addition to the block mapping table, a index block mapping table with a small size is used to indicate sector location. The proposed indexed block mapping algorithm by adding a small size. By the simulation result, the proposed FTL provides an enhanced speed than a conventional hybrid mapping algorithm by around 45% in average, and the requirement of mapping memory is also reduced by around 12%.

  • The purpose of this study is to prevent school safety accidents by conducting an analytic investigation on safety accidents that occur in elementary, middle and high school during 2010-2014 in Chung-Nam. We used the status of safety accidents in school based on the Chung-nam School Safety and Insurance Association database. Data was analyzed by descriptive Statistics. It was found that the incidence of safety accidents in school has increased, and in the case of elementary schools it was higher than in middle school or high school. Safety accidents occurred most during break time, and in schoolyard, and due to student's carelessness. Safety is one of the most basic human needs. To decrease the incidence of safety accidents, we need to set up with comprehensive safety system including human, physical and environmental factors. Based on the this study, it needs more wide study on various countermeasures and to determine effects.

A Study on the Network Architecture for KEPCO SCADA Systems (한국전력 스카다 시스템의 네트워크 구조에 대한 연구)

  • SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) System was first introduced to the Seoul Electricity Authority, which manages the transportation part among the three business fields that produce, transport and supply electric power in Korea. Has been using the data link with 1200 bps and 9600 bps in 5 protocols such as HARRIS 6000, BSC, HDLC, L & N and Toshiba by configuring 3 layers of EMS, SCADA and RTU computer equipments in 1: N radial form. This paper presents the OSI standard network packet flow, analyzing DataLink and Network Layer, and presents a KEPCO SCADA network model composed of X.25 high - speed communication network using 3 layers of network. We proposed a future SCADA communication structure that improved the current SCADA communication structure, defined the SCADA DB structure, introduced the concept of the remote SCADA gateway to the SCADA functional structure, applied the standard communication protocol, Multiplexing of surveillance and control in other local facilities and ensuring communication openness.

Analysis and Estimation for Market Share of Biologics based on Google Trends Big Data (구글 트렌드 빅데이터를 통한 바이오의약품의 시장 점유율 분석과 추정)

  • Google Trends is a useful tool not only for setting search periods, but also for providing search volume to specific countries, regions, and cities. Extant research showed that the big data from Google Trends could be used for an on-line market analysis of opinion sensitive products instead of an on-site survey. This study investigated the market share of tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) inhibitor, which is in a great demand pharmaceutical product, based on big data analysis provided by Google Trends. In this case study, the consumer interest data from Google Trends were compared to the actual product sales of Top 3 TNF-α inhibitors (Enbrel, Remicade, and Humira). A correlation analysis and relative gap were analyzed by statistical analysis between sales-based market share and interest-based market share. Besides, in the country-specific analysis, three major countries (USA, Germany, and France) were selected for market share analysis for Top 3 TNF-α inhibitors. As a result, significant correlation and similarity were identified by data analysis. In the case of Remicade's biosimilars, the consumer interest in two biosimilar products (Inflectra and Renflexis) increased after the FDA approval. The analytical data showed that Google Trends is a powerful tool for market share estimation for biosimilars. This study is the first investigation in market share analysis for pharmaceutical products using Google Trends big data, and it shows that global and regional market share analysis and estimation are applicable for the interest-sensitive products.

Fast Matching Pursuit Using Absolute Symmetry and Classified Dictionary (절대값 대칭성과 사전 분류를 이용한 고속 Matching Pursuit)

  • Although the matching Pursuit is effective for video coding at low bit rate, it has a Problem since it needs much more calculation than the conventional block-based video coding method. The proposed fast matching pursuit method reduces inner product calculation that takes the most part of entire calculation by utilizing the symmetry of the absolute values of the one-dimensional Gator dictionary bases, the modified dictionary which allows faster matching without causing image quality degradation, and a Property of the two-dimensional Gabor dictionary that can be grouped in advance to four classes according to its frequency characteristics. Proposed method needs only about 1/8 of multiplications compared to the well-known separability-based fast method proposed by Neff.

  • 우리나라 면적의 약 67%에 이르는 660만ha의 산림 중 침엽수림은 혼효림을 포함하여 약 74%를 차지해 활엽수림보다 넓게 분포하고 있다. 이와 같이 넓은 산림은 가뭄, 홍수와 같은 수문현상과 관련이 있으며 강우에 따른 유출에의 기여하는 바가 클 뿐만 아니라 강우, 증발산, 침투 유출에 이르는 다양한 수문현상이 복합적으로 나타난다. 특히, 최근 임목밀도의 증가가 오히려 증발산량의 증가, 옆면에 의한 강우 차단량의 증가 등을 발생시켜 가뭄과 홍수 또는 산사태의 원인이 될 수 있으며, 수자원 함양을 저해하는 요소로 작용하고 있다는 우려의 목소리가 나오고 있다. 따라서 산림지역의 증발산과 관련 있는 토양수분의 지속적인 모니터링과 감쇄특성 및 토양수분 환경에 대한 연구는 중요한 요소 연구가 될 수 있다. 봄에서 여름으로 진행되는 시기에는 강우발생에 비해 수목의 생육이 활발하여 증발산에 따른 토양수분 변화 및 감소가 급격하게 일어나며, 여름에는 토양수분의 감소도 뚜렷한 반면, 강우사상도 많이 발생하여 이에 따른 변화폭이 크게 나타난다. 또한, 가을에서 겨울로 진행되는 시기에는 수목의 생육의 둔화와 기온 하강으로 인하여 토양수분 감쇄현상 및 변화가 적게 나타나 토양수분의 변화양상이 계절마다 다르게 나타난다. 이에 토양수분의 감쇄현상을 파악하면 곧 산림지역에서의 증발산량 및 토양수분 소비특성을 파악할 수 있기 때문에, 산림에서 실제 토양수분 모니터링과 이를 통한 시간별, 깊이별 토양수분 변화 및 감쇄현상을 파악하는 것은 중요하다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 침엽수 산림에서의 토층별 월별 토양수분의 감쇄특성을 분석하기 위하여 침엽수림에서 토양수분 장기 모니터링 시스템을 구축하여 시간별, 토층별 토양수분 모니터링을 실시하고, 이를 바탕으로 침엽수림에서의 토양수분 감쇄현상을 분석하였다. 또한 토양수분 데이터 및 기상자료를 활용하여 월별, 기간별 토양수분 감쇄곡선을 산정하고 감쇄상수를 비교하였으며, 감쇄특성에 대하여 비교 분석하였다.

The DLB Method for Multimedia Synchronization in the ATM Networks (ATM 망에서 멀티미디어 동기화를 위한 DLB 기법)

  • In this paper, the improved Dual Leaky-Bucket(DLB) algorithm is proposed to reduce the synchronous cell loss rate. The conventional DLB algorithm does not support synchronous cells, but the proposed algorithm gives higher priority to synchronous cells. To reduce synchronous cell loss rate, the synchronous cell detector is used in the proposed algorithm. Synchronous cell detector detects synchronous cells, and passes them cells to the 2nd Leaky-Bucket. So it is similar to give higher priority to synchronous cells. In this paper, the proposed algorithm used audio/videl traffic modeled by On/Off and Two-state MMPP, and simulated by SLAM II package. As simulation results, the proposed algorithm gets lower synchronous cell loss rate than the conventional DLB algorithms. The improved DLB algorithm for multimedia synchronization can be extended to any other cells which require higher priority.
