A Survey was carried out in August 1973 in order to understand current status of traditional medical practice among rural resiednts. Following conclusions were obtained: a) Among total 500 cases utilizing traditional medical services, 60 cases were treated for diseases of digestive organ and 48 cases for nervous and sensory organ disorders. b) 198 cases utilized traditional medicine for self-treatment and most of them seemed to be unscientific and was based on an experience through their own practice. It should be developed and integrated with mordern medicine.

Antioxidant activities of traditional liquors produced in Chungcheong-do were studied. The contents of organic acids, carbohydrate, and protein of the traditional liquors were 0.30~0.95%, 1.4~11.1% and 1.5~37.3 mg%, respectively. Especially, the contents of phenolic compounds of L-3 was the highest (205.8 $\mu\textrm{g}$/mL). L-5, L-4 and L-3 showed higher antioxidant activities than the others on hemoglobin-induced linoleic acid system. L-5 also showed high reducing power and scavenging effect on DPPH radical. Scavenging effects on hydroxyl radicals in L-6, L-5 and L-4 showed higher activities (42~53%) than those of the others. The highest scavenging effect on superoxide anion radical was observed in L-5 ($IC_{50}$/: 1.1 $\mu\textrm{g}$).

During the Ming and qing dynasties is an important period, in the development of the folk blue and white painting, the folk craftsmen through long-term study and practice, constantly familiar with drawing technique to master the method, combining folk life form, and folk painting decorative expression aesthetic demand, thus make the painting MinSuXing and artistic expression continuously into the blue and white porcelain painting in the process of development, become an important and indispensable component of ceramic decoration.

Folk villages have higher historic and cultural values than other villages and contain considerably many traditional elements today. In Korea, there are seven folk villages that are under the protection of the Cultural Properties Protection Act. Unlike other kinds of tangible cultural assets individually appointed according to the act, those folk villages are protected by the act in entirety including the houses and auxiliary structures inhabited and used by the villagers. Since the act covers the entire villages, the residents are not allowed to repair or renovate their structures and accordingly suffer from huge limitations in everyday life with housing life under the biggest restrictions. Being appointed as a folk village is positive from the perspective of preserving the village. However, it is negative to the villagers because of the limitations to their housing lives. While common people lead a convenient life by the introduction of high technologies in modern society, they do not get to benefit from such technologies for the cause of preserving the traditional culture. Upon the appointment, they are subject to all sorts of building regulations and under huge direct and indirect influences of those regulations across many different aspects of life including housing life. Thus the residents of folk villages do have many complaints about the act. It is only natural that there occur conflicts between the state, which tries to preserve the traditional culture according to the act, and the residents, who pursue convenience in life. At the same time, it is natural too that the residents have the desire to pursue convenience in daily life. Thus they renovate their houses illegally. The government agencies are aware of that, however, it is not right for them to enforce the act and restrict their daily lives. Their tacit approval of such illegal renovations is the product of compromises between the residents' right to their private property and the state's policies of cultural asset protection. The residents try to renovate their houses within the limit that will not call for legal restrictions from the government agencies. The government allows for renovations as long as they are within the minimum limit. It is the result of efforts for the state and the residents to stitch up and compromise their own complaints.

The object of this study is to find ways of the modern succession of folklore by attempting the creation culture contents and looking into the aspects of using 'Jangjamot Legend'. Folk tale which has been handed down among people for many years is that story contents that are enjoyed by anonymous many people. The original narration and the cultural elements of 'Jangjamot Legend' which show the origin of a certain pond and rock can be used for creation of culture contents. The legend has been created the video contents or used the origin of the village ritual and festival in different areas. If the festival and the contest related to the legend is activated, more contents of the original narration will be created by the folklore or tourism. The preservation of the original narration will be easily accessed by the mass about 'Jangjamot Legend'. The cultural elements which are inherent in the legend shall cause the creation of consistent and effective contents. Through these contents creation, folklore will be passed on to the next generation with the obtain of universality in the modern times.

To evaluate the quality of korean traditional wine, 31 different type of wine were selected and examined for the following properties; ethanol contents, pH, acidity, total sugar contents, reducing sugar contents. In addition ATP contents of traditional wines were measured using lumitester and the result were compared with these obtained by viable cell counts. The physical and chemical properties of traditional wines are summarized as follow.; pH were in the range of 3.59~4.76, Total acidities were in the range of 4.23~16.21, Total sugar and reducing sugar contents were in the range of 0.04~1.13 g/100 mL and 0.006~0.999g/100 mL, respectively, ATP contents were in the range of 10$^1$~ 10$^{6}$ RLU(Relative light unit).

The purpose of this study is to draw guidelines on how to select traditional games that would efficiently help and develop multiple intelligences in children. Guidelines standard of section inquiries were prepared through a Delphi survey targeting twenty experts in early childhood education and traditional games. As a result, linguistic intelligence questions regarding writing, listening, speaking and vocabulary acquisition were selected. logical-mathematical intelligence questions regarding strategy, counting, patterns, hypothesis, verification, and comparing, contrasting, calculating ability were selected. Spatial intelligence questions regarding drawing, coloring, representation activities, operating and creating were selected, physical performance intelligence questions regarding global muscles, eye-hand coordination, flexibility, accommodation force, balance, agility and muscular strength were selected. Musical intelligence included questions about singing, and playing musical instruments. Interpersonal intelligence included perspective-taking, role-sharing, cooperation and discussion. For intrapersonal intelligence questions regarding personal significance-ties, planning-decision making, emotional expression and problem solving were selected. Finally, in relation to naturalist intelligence, questions regarding living organisms, inanimate objects and seasons were selected. In addition, traditional games were analyzed based on the finalized guidelines, and the results showed that each of the traditional games would not only work with one intelligence at a time but with other different intelligence as well. In the light of that, the study confirmed the validity of the guidelines on how to select traditional games that would develop multiple intelligences in children.
