In order to secure the effective high early age strength of the concrete, the study was carried out with a goal of functional improvement of cement. This study was carried out as a follow up for the previous study, which analyzed the high early age strength and durability of concrete mixed with fine particle cement (FC) during cement production. The experimental results showed that the target range for each mix was satisfied at fresh state of concrete. Also, when mixed with fine particles cement, the setting time improved. Additionally, compressive strength and heat of hydration increased and remained same, respectively. Especially, the durability remained same even when mixed with fine particle cement.
A study on the preparation of Ag fine particles was performed through a reduction reaction using ascorbic acids as a reductant, which is one of the indispensable processes for the recycling of silver-bearing wastes. Silver nitrate solution in the range of 10~120 mmole/l was used and Tamol NN8906 or PVP was also used as a dispersant in the preparation of Ag fine particles size analyze, SEM, and TEM to determine the particle size and morphology of them. As a result, the reduction reaction of silver ions with ascorbic acid reached equilibrium within 10 min. It was found that about 60% excess of ascorbic acid was required in order to reduce completely silver ions in the solution. The particle size distribution of Ag particles prepared through the reduction reaction showed typically biomodal or trimodal distribution. Especially, initial Ag concentration in the solution, the type and amount of dispersant added during the reduction reaction played an important role in determining the mean particle size of Ag particles.
When the monodisperse polystyrene(PS)/HDDA polymer particles were synthesized via one-step polymerization using polystyrene seed particles by dispersion polymerization, the effects of 1) the molecular weight of seed polymer particles, 2) the ratio of the absorbed HDDA to the seed polymer particles (swelling ratio) and 3) seeded polymerization rate on the surface morphology of PS/HDDA polymer particles were investigated. It was observed that the creation of the crater shaped defect on the surface of PS/HDDA polymer particles was irrespective of the molecular weight of seed polymer ant swelling ratio. But its surface morphology could be controlled by the change of the seeded polymerization rate.

Suspended fine mineral particles are deposited at the areas with low flow velocity and low transportation capacity in rivers, reservoirs and lakes. It can be contaminated by heavy metals. Examples of problem fields art dredging of sediment, water pollutants, and maintenance of navigation channels and construction works. To deal with the settling problems it is necessary to understand tile physico-chemical characteristics of cohesive sediment under varying density of particle and ion addition(NaOH, HCl, NaCl), which is dissolved in river, because fine-grained cohesive sediment can lead to flocculation with the physico-chemical influences and takes different characteristics. Experiments with fresh and saline water are followed with fine-grained sediments(alumina and quartz) in settling columns. Settling velocity of suspended fine particles in still water was measured with a pressure sensor(maximum 10 mbar). Until the initial concentration of 20,000 mg/1 of alumina and quartz the settling velocity was on the increase. Above this initial concentration was it on the decrease. In an acid condition, which causes strong flocculation, average settling velocity of quartz powder was high. In an alkaline water low average settling velocity of it was observed. However, alumina behaved exactly contrarily.

오늘날 정전기에 의한 미립자 오염은 반도체 공정의 미세화기술에 대해 큰 장해가 되는 것은 물론이거니와 약간의 미립자에 의한 오염이라 하더라도 제품의 특성에 악영향을 주는 원인이 된다. 정전기는 공기청정화 기술의 하나로써 응용되고 있는 반면 크린룸 중에서 대전물체가 존재하면 이것에 분진이 흡인되어 부착하기 때문에 오염의 원인이 되기도 한다. (중략)
Nanocomposite of Au doped ZrO$_2$ films was prepared, which could be used as non-linear optic materials, selective absorption and transmission films. After heat treatment of prepared thin film by dip-coating method, the characteristics were investigated by X-ray diffraction, UV-VIS Spectrometer, Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) and Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM). Film thickness was about 150 nm, the Au particle size was 15~35 nm. The thin film had a smooth surface roughness about 1.06 nm. Nonlinearity optics was found that films showed absorption peak at 600~650 nm visible region by plasma resonance of Au metal particles.
We prepared monodispersed calcium alginate microspheres by controlling various conditions of emulsification procedure using a lab-scale batch type membrane emulsification system equipped with SPG (Shirasu porous glass) tubular membranes. We determined the effects of process parameters of membrane emulsification (ratio of dispersed phase to continuous phase, alginate concentration, emulsifier concentration, type and concentration of stabilizer, transmembrane pressure, concentration of crosslinking agent, stirring speed and membrane pore size) on the mean size and size distribution of alginate microspheres. The increase of the ratio of dispersed phase to continuous phase, transmembrane pressure and alginate concentration led to the increase in the mean size of alginate microspheres. On the contrary, the increase in emulsifier concentration, stirring speed of the continuous phase and concentration of the crosslinking agent caused the reduction of the mean size of microspheres. Through controlling these parameters, monodisperse alginate microspheres with about $6{\mu}{\textrm{m}}$ of the mean size and 1.1 of the size distribution value were finally prepared in case of the using SPC membrane with the pore size of $2.9{\mu}{\textrm{m}}$.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of reaction conditions, solvents, and surfactants on the average size and size distribution of silica particles in preparing silica fine powders by sodium silicate. Silica fine particles were synthesized by varying kinds of solvents and surfactants using the emulsion method. Span 20, Span 40, Span 60, and Span 80 were used as nonionic surfactants, Dispersing solvents were n-Hexane, n-Heptane, iso-Octane, and n-Decane of the alkane group. In these experiments, it was known that the optimum dispersion stirring time to form the emulsion of the constant size was around 6 min. The mean sizes of silica particles, at a variety of the dispersion stirring speeds, decreased as the dispersion stirring speed increased. Also, in the case of the solvents, the size of the formed silica particles decreased when the molecular weight of the solvent increased. Lastly, in the case of the surfactants, the mean size of silica particles increased as the hydrophobic lipophilic balance (HLB) value of the surfactant decreased.
