Classification of Non-Signature Multimedia Data Fragment File Types With Byte Averaging Gray-Scale (바이트 평균의 Gray-Scale화를 통한 Signature가 존재하지 않는 멀티미디어 데이터 조각 파일 타입 분류 연구)

  • In general, fragmented files without signatures and file meta-information are difficult to recover. Multimedia files, in particular, are highly fragmented and have high entropy, making it almost impossible to recover with signature-based carving at present. To solve this problem, research on fragmented files is underway, but research on multimedia files is lacking. This paper is a study that classifies the types of fragmented multimedia files without signature and file meta-information. Extracts the characteristic values of each file type through the frequency differences of specific byte values according to the file type, and presents a method of designing the corresponding Gray-Scale table and classifying the file types of a total of four multimedia types, JPG, PNG, H.264 and WAV, using the CNN (Convolutional Natural Networks) model. It is expected that this paper will promote the study of classification of fragmented file types without signature and file meta-information, thereby increasing the possibility of recovery of various files.

  • This study aims to consider the criteria and signification of 'aging' constructed in media in Korean society that has entered aging society. For the purpose, this study analyzed KBS the representative TV health programs. According to the result, designs the measurable indexes of aging to rank the casts. And it emphasizes to the casts that cannot reach a certain level the support from medical experts or advanced medical technology. With such characteristics of individual text, this paper found the ideological codes of the health programs. They contrast the elderly who have achieved successful aging from those that have not. They define the aged who have not practiced self-management or medical control to prevent aging properly as failure and also make fun of them. They draw aging that was not regarded as some kind of disease in the past into the area of medicine. Besides, the medicalization of aging regarded as an object for treatment may come to strengthen the control of medical experts and also individualize social issues.

3D Video Quality Improvement for 3D TV using Color Compensation (색상 보정을 통한 3차원 TV의 입체영상 화질 개선)

  • In this paper, we have studied the color compensation method for 3D that enables 3D color presentation similar to 2D. The color compensation method uses the difference of color presentation in 2D and 3D mode. First, the RGB I/O relationship curve was derived in 2D and 3D mode based on the input RGB color bar images. The relationship was modeled in modified power-law forms. Based on the modeling information, we generated color mapping tables, which can be used for compensating the difference of colors. The proposed color mapping block can be added at the output block of a 3DTV system, where the 2D content can be bypassed but the 3D content RGB data can be processed using the color mapping table. The experimental results show that the proposed method improves color presentation of a 3DTV system using a proper color compensation based on 2D presentation.

  • 최근 국가균형발전을 위한 문화콘텐츠산업의 비중은 날로 커지고 있으며 디지털 컨버젼스의 중심으로 부각되고 있다. 이러한 시대적, 사회적 요구에 즈음하여 정부의 지역문화 콘텐츠 육성 의지에 부합하는 전통건축물의 e-Learning을 위한 웹 기반 저작도구의 구현방법을 제안하고자 한다. 지금까지의 전통건축의 복원 및 재현은 전통적인 전수방식에 의존하거나 다분히 현상적인 수준에 그치고 있어, 우리 문화에서 중요한 위치를 차지하고 있는 전통건축물에 대한 저변의 확대와 보편적이고 대중적인 이해를 돕기에는 한계가 존재하는 것이 사실이다. 또한 전통건축에 관련한 교육자료는 대부분 고서(古書)나 텍스트에 의존하고 있는 것이 현실인 점을 감안할 때, 시각적이고 인터랙티브한 e-Learning 시스템의 연구는 필수적이라 할 것이다. 연구의 범위로서는 한국문화콘텐츠진흥원의 진행 중 사업인 문화원형복원사업인 "조선시대 탐라순력도의 디지털콘텐츠 개발"의 내용을 토대로 하며, 조선 중기인 17세기 제주도의 주심포계 전통건축을 대상으로 하고 있다. 본 연구의 내용은 1) 17세기 중엽 제주도의 주심포계 전통건축물에 대한 가구구조의 형성관계 및 그 형상을 디지털화하기 위한 데이터 체계를 제안하고, 2) 이에 따른 웹 기반의 가상전시 및 e-Learning 콘텐츠를 위한 시스템 구축의 프로토타입을 제시하며, 3) 상기 제시한 데이터 체계에 근거한 사용자 중심의 전통건축물 재현을 위한 3차원 저작환경 및 그 인터페이스를 제시한다. 이 결과로 전통건축물의 형성원리를 이해하고 전통 양식에 근거한 창의적 저작이 가능한 환경을 제시함으로써 멀티미디어 저작물 및 디자인 협업, 전통건축 유지보수 분야 등에 파급효과를 기대할 수 있다. 더불어 제안된 내용에 근거한 향후 연구로 전통건축물에 대한 일관되고 통합적인 관리방안과 그 실현수단에 대한 논의를 비롯하여 전통문화를 소재로 한 디지털 콘텐츠의 활용방안 및 그 부가가치에 대한 논의가 병행되어야 할 것이다.

Images of Female and Male Business Leaders in Newspaper Photographs (신문보도사진에 나타난 남녀 경제리더의 이미지 분석)

  • News plays a similar role with myths in modern society. Myths provide the framework from which people understand and experience the world, and news media plays an important role in constructing these myths. In this context, this study examined how female and male business leaders have been represented in newspaper photographs through quantitative and qualitative textual analyses. Photographs of female business leaders which appeared in news interviews and profile news stories from 1990 to 2011 were analyzed, and photographs of male leaders corresponding to the total number of female photographs were also investigated. As a result, gender perspectives were found. While male business leaders were portrayed as active and serious figures in connection with their professional work places, mostly in bust shots, female business leaders were represented as passive objects artificially posed for the news in a context separated from their business, and often in full length shots.

Cinematic Representation of Child Abuse and the Maternal Myth: A Narrative Analysis of and (아동학대의 재현과 모성 신화: <미쓰백>과 <어린 의뢰인>의 서사 분석을 중심으로)

  • Amid growing social interest in child abuse, and announced the seriousness of child abuse crimes and aroused public interest in related issues. Based on true stories and characters, both films created unique narratives about child abuse cases, but drew on the traditional representation and discursive construction of child abuse news articles. By setting the stepmother as the perpetrator and the father as the neglecter, the gender role of women as primary caregiver was reconfirmed and the stereotypical image of the 'evil stepmother' in popular narratives was exploited. The cinematic reenactment of the evil stepmother not only highlighted the normative family discourse, but also reinforced the maternal myth by emphasizing the binary opposition between the evil stepmother and the lost birth mother.

A Study on the Narration Characteristics of <The Book of Fish> Using the Analysis Frame of Historical Drama (역사극의 분석틀을 활용한 영화 <자산어보>의 내레이션 특성에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze how the movie <The Book of Fish> (2021) represents Joseon, which is slowly collapsing with the Neo-Confucian order of the 19th century shaking, and to discuss its meaning. Prior to the analysis, the analysis framework of the historical drama was presented considering the narration characteristics of the historical drama. Using the analysis framework of historical dramas, we confirmed that <The Book of Fish> is representing the image of Jeong Yak-jeon and Jang Chang-dae living their lives as independent individuals between the limitations and possibilities of the times based on the plot structure of the narrative of exile. Through the central memory and surplus memory created through plot and style elements such as contrast between black and white and color images, voice-over narration, chinese poetry subtitles and music, the film asks us universal questions about what it takes to live as an independent individual.

Video Segmentation Method using Improved Adaptive Threshold Algorithm and Post-processing (개선된 적응적 임계값 결정 알고리즘과 후처리 기법을 적용한 동영상 분할 방법)

  • As a tool used for video maintenance, Video segmentation divides videos in hierarchical and structural manner. This technique can be considered as a core technique that can be applied commonly for various applications such as indexing, abstraction or retrieval. Conventional video segmentation used adaptive threshold to split video by calculating difference between consecutive frames and threshold value in window with fixed size. In this case, if the time difference between occurrences of cuts is less than the size of a window or there is much difference in neighbor feature, accurate detection is impossible. In this paper, Improved Adaptive threshold algorithm which enables determination of window size according to video format and reacts sensitively on change in neighbor feature is proposed to solve the problems above. Post-Processing method for decrement in error caused by camera flash and fast movement of large objects is applied. Evaluation result showed that there is 3.7% improvement in performance of detection compared to conventional method. In case of application of this method on modified video, the result showed 95.5% of reproducibility. Therefore, the proposed method is more accurated compared to conventional method and having reproducibility even in case of various modification of videos, it is applicable in various area as a video maintenance tool.

View Synthesis Error Removal for Comfortable 3D Video Systems (편안한 3차원 비디오 시스템을 위한 영상 합성 오류 제거)

  • Recently, the smart applications, such as smart phone and smart TV, become a hot issue in IT consumer markets. In particular, the smart TV provides 3D video services, hence efficient coding methods for 3D video data are required. Three-dimensional (3D) video involves stereoscopic or multi-view images to provide depth experience through 3D display systems. Binocular cues are perceived by rendering proper viewpoint images obtained at slightly different view angles. Since the number of viewpoints of the multi-view video is limited, 3D display devices should generate arbitrary viewpoint images using available adjacent view images. In this paper, after we explain a view synthesis method briefly, we propose a new algorithm to compensate view synthesis errors around object boundaries. We describe a 3D warping technique exploiting the depth map for viewpoint shifting and a hole filling method using multi-view images. Then, we propose an algorithm to remove boundary noises that are generated due to mismatches of object edges in the color and depth images. The proposed method reduces annoying boundary noises near object edges by replacing erroneous textures with alternative textures from the other reference image. Using the proposed method, we can generate perceptually inproved images for 3D video systems.

Fruit's Defective Area Detection Using Yolo V4 Deep Learning Intelligent Technology (Yolo V4 딥러닝 지능기술을 이용한 과일 불량 부위 검출)

  • It is very important to first detect and remove defective fruits with scratches or bruised areas in the automatic fruit quality screening system. This paper proposes a method of detecting defective areas in fruits using the latest artificial intelligence technology, the Yolo V4 deep learning model in order to overcome the limitations of the method of detecting fruit's defective areas using the existing image processing techniques. In this study, a total of 2,400 defective fruits, including 1,000 defective apples and 1,400 defective fruits with scratch or decayed areas, were learned using the Yolo V4 deep learning model and experiments were conducted to detect defective areas. As a result of the performance test, the precision of apples is 0.80, recall is 0.76, IoU is 69.92% and mAP is 65.27%. The precision of pears is 0.86, recall is 0.81, IoU is 70.54% and mAP is 68.75%. The method proposed in this study can dramatically improve the performance of the existing automatic fruit quality screening system by accurately selecting fruits with defective areas in real time rather than using the existing image processing techniques.
