The effects of ethanol extracts from Asparagus cochinchinensis, Polggonatum officinale, Poria cocos, Panax ginseng and Acanthopanax sessiliflorum on the toxicity of polychlorinated biphenyls(PCBs) were examined and following results were obtained. By the administration of these extracts, PCBs intoxicated rats showed the normalizing tendency in body weights and various hematological parameters-counts of red blood cell and white blood cell, hemoglobin content and hematocrit value. These extracts ameliorated the elevated levels of serum cholesterol, total lipids, $_{8}-GOT-,\;_{8}-GPT$ and s-alkaline phosphatase activities of PCBs intoxicated rats.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the impact of internet addiction by self-esteem level. Most of the existing research has introduced a variety of methods to treat the addiction but the study for casual factors are not entirely satisfactory. Internet addiction is intensified by a variety of casual factors, but during the survey to validate the hypothesis that the biggest impact is the self-esteem level. According to this study, psychological factors of self-esteem is caused an internet addiction than social environmental factor and familial factor. The results of this study can be utilized in a variety of programs to increase the level of self-esteem as a reference for the treatment of internet addiction.

산업의 발전과 함께 최근 카드뮴 중독이 사회적 문제가 되고 있다. 카드뮴 중독은 특히 건전지 제조공장, 카드뮴 광산 등에서 잘 발생하며 카드뮴 분진의 흡입, 음식물내 카드뮴 복합물의 섭취 등에 의해 유발된다. 중독증상으로는 폐부종 및 섬유화, 신부전증, 폐부전증, 고혈압, 생식선 위축, 골연화증, 무취증, itai-itati 질환등을 일으키는 것으로 알려져 있으나 무취증에 대한 정확한 발생기전은 밝혀져 있지 않다. 이에 저자들은 카드뮴 중독을 유발시키기 위하여 흰쥐에 $CaCl_2$ 11.2 mg/kg을 3주일간 매일 피하주사한 후 3주 후에 두개골을 제거하고 후구를 절취한 후 투과전자현미경으로 관찰하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 1. 사구체 주위 부위에 있는 사구체 주위 세포의 세포돌기와 신경축삭에 퇴행성 변화가 발생하였다. 2. 외상망 부위와 승모세포, 과랍세포 등에서는 뚜렷한 변화를 발견할 수 없었다.

본 연구는 청소년의 인터넷 중독에 대한 문제를 이해하기 위한 새로운 접근방법을 소개하고 있다. 기존 연구의 대부분은 인터넷과 온라인 게임 자체에 집중하여 청소년의 행동을 조절하기 위한 제도적, 기술적 방법을 소개하였다. 이러한 접근방법은 본질적인 청소년 사이버 문화에 대한 이해가 결여되어 단기적인 성과는 거둘 수 있지만 장기적이고 거시적인 관점에서 문제를 해소하기에는 제한적이다. 본 연구에서는 청소년의 정체성 성립과정과 자극과 반응 모델, 관계질서 모델 등을 통하여 본질적인 인터넷 중독 해소를 위한 접근방법을 제안하고자 한다. 본 연구의 결과물은 향후 지속될 실증적 연구에 토대가 될 것이며 청소년의 인터넷 중독 예방 활동을 위한 자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the degree of link with internet media and a internet addiction disposition of adolescents. The subjects were 500 students attending to middle and high schools consisted of male and female. The instruments were "the questionnaire on the present conditions of internet use" consisted of 14 items(Cronbach's α=.71) and "the internet addiction rating scale" consisted of 20 items(Cronbach's α=.73). These questionnaire were revised by this researcher. For data analysis, chisqure and ANOVA were used. The main results were as follows. First, a boy students and the vocational high school and the middle school each have more negative response than a girl students and the humanistic high schools in the present conditions of internet use and the judgement on a harmful object of internet space. Second, a boy students have higher than a girl students in an internet addiction disposition. Third, an internet addiction related with the times link with internet, the type of internet game, and the content of internet space(a lustful and violent objects). The various methods for the prevent with the internet addiction of adolescents discussed with based on the previous studies.

Smartphones, now a necessity for modern people, have become more than just an appliance, but an object of obsession for many. This has resulted in smartphone addiction in many modern people. However, the phenomenon of object addiction can lie beyond the problem of the object itself, varying according to the psychological characteristics of the subjects who use it. For this reason, this study aimed to examine adult attachment and covert narcissism as factors influencing smartphone addiction in college students. In order to do this subjects' level of smartphone addiction, adult attachment and covert narcissism needed to be measured on a scale of smartphone addiction, adult attachment and covert narcissism. Regression analysis was conducted with smartphone addiction set as the dependent variable and adult attachment and covert narcissism as independent variables. As a result, we observed anxiety attachment related to adult attachment and hypersensitivity/weakness of covert narcissism played roles in smartphone addiction. These findings suggest that in order to understand smartphone addiction in college students, it is important to know the psychological characteristics of our subjects.

To investigate effect of fruits of Hovenia dulcis Thunb. on learning ability of ethanol-induced rats, we divided rats into 3 groups; normal, control and sample groups. Control group administered ethanol at a dose 3 g/kg bw. (25 v/v %), while sample group administered the water extract of fruits of Hovenia dulcis Thunb. 30 min. before treating same dose of ethanol as control group orally. All groups were subjected to trials of straight channel on the 1st day and to those of multiple T-maze during the following 3 days. The time required in normal group for the straight channel of the 2nd and the 3rd trials was significantly shorter than that of the 1st, while control group showed no significance. In the time required for the multiple T-maze trials of control group, there were no significance. But in the straight channel or multiple T-maze trials, the sample group showed significant decrease in the time required against control group, and also showed significant decrease in the number of selecting errors.
