A study on the effects of Friction loss of CPVC pipe according to Roughness coefficient in a sprinkler system (스프링클러 시스템에서 조도계수에 따른 CPVC 배관 마찰손실 영향의 연구)

  • The pipe material is selected according to the physical and chemical properties of the fluid flowing within it. Because the fluid used in fire extinguish systems is water, the various foreign substances dissolved in it cause scale to form on the pipe wall and accelerate the corrosion and aging of the pipe itself. This results in an increase in the friction loss and eventually degrades the efficiency of the pump. The use of CPVC (Chlorinated Poly-Vinyl Chloride) pipes was confirmed to reduce the friction loss compared to conventional steel pipes in the design and construction stages. The friction loss was found to be 76.64MPa with a C-value of 120 for the steel pipe and 50.72 MPa with a C-value of 150 for the CPVC pipe in an actual apartment construction environment. It was confirmed that the friction loss was improved by about 34% when using the CPVC pipe. When the steel and CPVC pipes were employed in the construction, the construction costs were 1,585,158 and 931,842 won, respectively. Therefore, it was shown that the construction cost was reduced by about 41%. We investigated the safety of the fire extinguishing system and the improvement in the economic performance due to the reduction in the total installed capacity by studying practical applications in the field.

Preparation and Characterization of Biodegradable Superporous Hydrogels (생분해성을 갖는 초다공성 수화젤의 제조 및 특성분석)

  • In this study, biodegradable superporous hydrogels(SPHs) with fast swelling and superabsorbent properties were prepared using biodegradable crosslinkers and their physicochemical properties were characterized. A biodegradable crosslinker (PLA-PEG-PLA DA) was synthesized by a ring opening polymerization of D,L-lactide (LA) using hydrophilic poly(ethylene glycol) as a macroinitiator, followed by diacrylation of the end groups for the introduction of polymerizable vinyl groups. Various kinds of hydrogels with different chemical compositions were prepared and characterized in terms of swelling ratio, swelling kinetics, and biodegradation properties. The synthetic results were confirmed by $^1H$-NMR, FT-IR and GPC measurements, and the porous structures of the prepared SPHs and their porosities were identified by a scanning electron microscope and mercury porosimetry, respectively. The physicochemical properties of SPHs could be controlled by varying their chemical compositions and their cytotoxicity were found to be very low by MTT assay.

자화수에서 염류의 용해속도 변화와 자화수에 의한 NaCl, KCl 및 석고의 결정화 양상에 대한 연구

  • In order to know the physicochemical properties of magnetized water, the experimental methods of column assay, crystalization of saltsand gypsom have been explored to elucidate the effects of magnetized water on the solubility speed of salts, crystal pattern from salt squeous solutions, and gypsom crystal pattern, respectively. In the column assay for salt solubility the magnetized water showed the decreased initial solubility speed of NaCl and slightly increased initial solubility spped of KCI, however, the maximum solugilities of NaCl and KCI in the magnetized aster were almost same in the double distilled water, respectively. The column assay also indicated that the magnetized water showed the decreased initial solubility speed of urea (CH$_4$N$_2$O), sodium citrate (HOC(CO$_2$Na)-(CH$_2$CO$_2$Na)$_2$-2H$_2$O) and (NH$_4$)$_2$compared to the double distilled water, while slightly increased solubility speed of glycine (NH$_2$CH$_2$COOH), boric acid (H$_3$BO$_3$), MgSO$_4$. Crystalization of 1% or 5% salt aqueous solutions by rapid evaporation disclosed that the magnetized water produced more condensed and bigger crystal structure than the control water. The pattern of gypsom crystal formation also indicated that the magntized water enhanced the crystal formation in the hydration reaction of gypsom plaster compared to the double distilled water. Taken together, it was presumed that the magnetized water showed the different physicochemical properties in the interaction with various salts, especially showed the contrast results between NaCl and KCI.

Spot marking of the multilayer thin films by Nd:YAG laser (Nd:YAG 레이저에 의한 다층 박막의 미소 점 마킹)

  • We separated the multilayer structure of CD-R(compact disk-recordable) and investigated optimal spot marking conditions and physical and chemical transitions in response to various laser beam energh levels. Spot marking(80 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ spot size) was produced on the surface of each layer using a Q-switched Nd:YAG laser between 27 mJ and 373mJ. By investigating resulting pit formation with Optical Microscopy(OM) and Optical Coherence Tomography(OCT), we analyzed the formation process of spot marking in the multilayer structure of different chemical composition. The localized heating of the substrate in the multilayer thin film caused the short temporal thermal expansion, and absorbed optical energy between reflective and dye interfaces melted dye and increased the volume. During the cooling phase, formation of pit and surrounding rim can be explained by three distinct processes; effect of surface tension, evaporation by spontaneous temperature increase due to laser energy, and mass flow from the recoil pressure. Our results shows that the spot marking formation process in the multilayer thin film is closely related to the layers' physical, chemical, and optical properties, such as surface tension, melt viscosity, layer thickness, and chemical composition.

마이크로캅셀화에 의한 조절방출제제 개발 I: 유드라짓 마이크로캅셀화에 의한 $\beta$-락탐계 항생제의 방출제어

  • 1. Eudragit RS, RL, E, S 및 L을 이용하여 유중건조법으로 제조한 $\beta$-락탐계 항생제 (Amoxicillin, Cephalexin) 마이크로캅셀 모두가 구상 성형성과 정립성이 양호한 결과를 얻었다. 2. 분리 분산제 (aluminium tristearate)의 양을 고정시켰을 때에는 일정한 입자 분포도를 가지는 마이크로캅셀을 얻을 수 있었고, 양을 증가시켰을 때에는 입자 크기는 작아 졌으며, 용출율은 증가하였다. 3. Eudragit RS 및 S 마이크로캅셀제제로부터의 약물용출은 저조하였고, Eudragit RL 및 L 제제로부터의 약물용출은 양호하였다. 따라서 Eudragit RS/RL 마이크로캅셀제제에서는 Eudragit RL의 양을 증가시킬수록 약물의 용출율이 증가하였으며, Eudragit S/L 마이크로캅셀제제에서는 Eudragit L의 양을 증가시킬수록 약물의 용출율이 증가하였다. 약물방출 실험결과, Amoxicillin 함유Eudragit RS/RL (25/75) 마이크로캅셀, cephalxin함유 Eudragit RS/RL (75/25) 마이크로캅셀 및 Eudragit S/L (75/25) 마이크로캅셀제제는 유용한 제제로 펑가되었다. 또한 수용성 고분자인 polyethylene glycol을 혼합하어 제조하는 것에 의해 방출조절성 마이크로캅셀의 제조가 가능하였다. 유중건조법을 이용하여 본 연구방법으로 저조한 마이크로캅셀제제는 투어횟수를 줄일 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 생체에 대해 안전하고 재현성에 확보되는 유용한 제제로 판단된다. 앞으로 연구를 계속 수행하여, 특히 약물의 물리화학적 성질 및 생제내 투어 후의 생물약제학적 펑가를 엄격히 하므로써 안정성이 심히 문제시되는 다용 약물계열에 대한 조절방출성제제의 개발을 기대할 수 있다.은 해리항수의 역수이므로 해리항수가 적을수록 $\beta$ 수용체에 대한 친화력이 큰 약물이다. 시사되었으며, 이 조직에서 또한 5-$HT_2$와 5-$HT_3$ 수용체의 존재를 확인하고 각각의 기능을 분명히 했다.가 수월하게 하였고 메모리를 동적으로 관리할 수 있게 하였다. 또한 기존의 smpl에 디버깅용 함수 및 설비(facility) 제어용 함수를 추가하여 시뮬레이션 프로그램 작성을 용이하게 하였다. 예를 들면 who_server(), who_queue(), pop_Q(), push_Q(), pop_server(), push_server(), we(), wf(), printfct() 같은 함수들이다. 또한 동시에 발생되는 사건들의 순서를 조종하기 위해, 동시에 발생할 수 있는 각각의 사건에 우선순위를 두어 이 우선 순위에 의하여 사건 리스트(event list)에서 자동적으로 사건들의 순서가 결정되도록 확장하였으며, 설비 제어방식에 있어서도 FIFO, LIFO, 우선 순위 방식등을 선택할 수 있도록 확장하였다. Hydrophobic Coating on Fish Feed Using Dielectric Barrier Discharge Plasma Polymerization (유전체장벽방전 플라즈마 중합을 이용한 양어 사료의 소수성 코팅)

  • A plasma hydrophobic coating on commercial fish feed was conducted to prolong the floating time of feed, thereby enhancing the feed consumption rate and reducing the contamination of water in fish farms. The hydrophobic coating on the fish feed was prepared using an atmospheric-pressure dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) plasma with hexamethyldisiloxane (HMDSO), toluene and n-hexane as the precursors. The effect of the parameters such as input power, precursor type and coating time on the coating performance were examined. The physicochemical properties of the coating layer were analyzed using a Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectrometer and a contact angle (CA) analyzer. The water CA increased after the coating preparation, indicating that the surface changed from hydrophilic to hydrophobic. The FTIR characterization revealed that the hydrophobic layer was comprised of functional groups such as $CH_3$, Si-O-Si and Si-C. As a result of the hydrophobic coating, the floating time of the fish feed increased from several seconds to 3 minutes, which suggested that the plasma coating method could be a viable means for practical applications. Compared to the water CA measured as soon as the coating layer was prepared, the 6-day aged sample exhibited a substantial CA increase, confirming the aging effect on the improvement of the hydrophobicity.

Experiments on the GPR Reposnse of the Organic Hydrocarbons (유류오염물질의 GPR 반응에 대한 모델 실험 연구)

  • A physical model experiment was conducted using a sand and gravel-filled tank model, to investigate the influence on the GPR response of LNAPL vapor phase effects in the unsaturated zone and of residual phase of LNAPL trapped in the saturated zone. Background measurements of GPR were made with only water in the tank using a fluctuating water table model. Gasoline was, then, injected into the bottom of the model tank to simulate a subsurface discharge from a leaking pipe or tank at depth, obtaining GPR data with rising and lowering of water table. Results from the experiment show the GPR sensitivity to the changes in the moisture content in the vadose zone and its effectiveness for monitoring minor fluctuation of the water table. The results also demonstrate a potential of GPR for monitoring possible vapor phase effects of volatile hydrocarbons in the vadose zone as a function of time, and for detecting the effects of residual phase of hydrocarbons in the water saturated system. In addition, the results provide the basis for a strategy that has the potential to successfully detect and delineate residual LNAPL contamination in the water-saturated system at field sites where the conditions are similar to those simulated in the physcial models described herein.

Identification of Bean Common Mosaic Virus Obtained from Seeds of Phaseolus vulgaris (강낭콩에서 종자전염된 Bean Common Mosaic Virus의 분류동정에 관한 연구)

  • The virus infecting French bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) was identified as Bean Common Mosaic Virus(BCMV) based on the host range, symptomatology, serology, morphology of virus particles and inclusion bodies. Isolates of BCMV were obtained from seeds of P. vulgaris collected at Suweon, Jangsu and Jinju in Korea. French bean produced vein clearing, mosaic, stunting and leaf curling. Symptom of Chenopodium quinoa was local lesions on the inoculated leaves, not on the upper leaves. The electron micrograph of the virus from French bean was flexuous approximately 750nm in length. Cylindrical and pinwheel cytoplasmic inclusion bodies were observed in French bean leaf infected by BCMV. BCMV from the French bean was transmitted through seed and green peach aphid, Myzus persicae. The thermal inactivation point was $55\~60^{\circ}C$, dilution end point was $10^{-3}\~10^{-5}$ and longevity in vitro was $2\~3$ days for BCMV from French bean. The isolates of BCMV reacted positively against BCMV antiserum. The extract of BCMV infected bean leaves, Azukibean mosaic virus (AZMV) and Cowpea aphid borne mosaic virus(CaMV) also reacted with BCMV antiserum, however, BCMV and CaMV showed the spur in agar gel diffusion test.

Preparation and Release Behavior of Atorvastatin Calcuim - Encapsulated Polyoxalate Microspheres (아토르바스타틴 칼슘을 함유한 폴리옥살레이트 미립구의 제조 및 방출거동)

  • Atorvastatin calcium-loaded polyoxalate (POX) microspheres were prepared by an emulsion solvent-evaporation/ extraction method of oil-in-oil-in-water ($O_1/O_2/W$) for sustained release. We investigated the release behavior according to initial drug ratio, molecular weight ($M_w$) and concentration of POX and concentration of emulsifier. The microsphere was characterized on the surface, the cross-section morphology and the behavior of atorvastatin calcium release for 10 days by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). The analysis of crystallization was analyzed to use X-ray diffraction (XRD), differential scanning calorimeter (DSC) and Fourier transform infrared (FTIR). These results showed that the release behaviors can be controlled by preparation conditions.

Synthesis of Novel Pseudo-ceramide and Its Properties (신규 유사세라마이드의 합성과 그 특성)

  • Ceramides, a constituent of stratum corneum lipids, play a crucial role in the formation and maintenance of the epidermal permeability barrier. As in many other skin disorders, atopic dermatitis and psoriasis show decrease and transformation of the ceramides. The application of ceramide has been demonstrated to be efficient in the repair of these skin disorders. Nevertheless, natural ceramides are still too expensive and small in quantity to be used as a cosmetic ingredient. Although a lot of pseudo-ceramides have been developed and on the market until now, those pseudo-ceramides did not fully meet the consumer's needs, therefore, there is still a demand for a novel pseudo-ceramides. We synthesized a novel pseudo-ceramide BPC-16 from 2-(2-amino-ethylamino)-ethanol(AEEA), which was characterized by structures having both amide bonds and hydroxyl groups as hydrophilic units, as well as two long alkyl chains. We formulated emulsion with BPC-16, cholesterol, stearic acid, and other components to make an emulsion. These emulsion showed a typical optical anisotropy on cross-polarized microscopy. This 'Maltese cross' appearance is a characteristic figure observed in concentric lamellar emulsion under cross-polarized microscopy. In cytotoxicity assay using MTT in monolayer and three dimension(3D) cell culture, a BPC-16 showed only negligible cytotoxicity up to the effective concentration for barrier repair and moisturization(less than 10 mM). In the measurement of TEWL, this BPC-16 showed significant recovery of water-retaining properties when it was topically applied to either SDS-induced dry skin or normal skin compared to that of base cream. This novel pseudo-ceramide BPC-16 showed as effective in skin barrier repair and moisturization as natural ceramides.
