Changes in Drug Elution Concentration and Physical Characteristics of Soft Contact Lenses Depending on the Initiator and Crosslinker (개시제와 교차결합제 농도의 변화에 따른 소프트콘택트렌즈의 물리적 성질과 약물용출 농도의 변화)

  • Purpose: The material properties of contact lenses were measured by varying the amounts of an initiator and a cross-linking agent that are the basis for the manufacture of contact lenses, and the drug delivery effects depending on the material properties of contact lenses were compared. Methods: Contact lens samples were manufactured using HEMA by varying the concentration of the cross-linking agent and the initiator. To investigate the changes in physical characteristics depending on the material properties, the results of the experiments on the amount of drug elution, water content, refractive index, and the amount of protein adsorption were compared. Results: For the contact lenses manufactured by varying the amount of the initiator, the water content hardly changed, and the refractive index also hardly changed. The amount of drug elution was not much affected by the changes in the initiator, but the amount of elution increased as the water content increased. The amount of protein adsorption was hardly affected by the changes in the initiator, but the amount of adsorption increased as the water content decreased. Conclusions: The changes in the properties were hardly affected by the changes in the amount of the initiator, but were significantly affected by the changes in the amount of the cross-linking agent. As the amount of the cross-linking agent increased, the water content decreased, while the refractive index increased. Also, when the water content increased, the amount of drug elution increased, while the amount of protein adsorption decreased.

  • 연구목적: 본 연구의 목적은 통상적으로 사용되는 글라스 세라믹과 고분자를 침투시킨 지르코니아 소재로 제작된 코어와 레진 시멘트의 굴곡강도 및 결합강도를 비교하여 하이브리드 기술이 치과 재료의 물리적인 성질에 미치는 영향을 조사하기 위함이다. 연구방법: 본 두 가지의 통상적으로 사용되는 세라믹소재[Vita PM9(GC) and I-JAM(ZC)] 와 다른 두 가지 하이브리드 세라믹 소재 [CELTRA Duo(ZRC) and Vita Enamic(RIZ)] 를 평가하였다. 각 그룹의 소재를 선택하여 결합강도와 굴곡강도, 그리고 scanning electron microscopy(SEM)을 이용하여 표면분석을 시행하였다. 도출된 결과 데이터는 일원분산분석(One-way ANOVA)을 통해 분석되었으며, 제1종 오류의 수준은 0.05로 하였다. 연구결과: RIZ 그룹에서 가장 높은 결합강도를 보였으며(p<0.05), ZC 그룹이 가장 낮은 결과를 보였다. 상대적으로 굴곡강도는 ZC 그룹이 가장 높은 수치를 나타내었으며, RIZ 그룹이 가장 취약했다. 연구결론: 하이브리드 기술로 제작된 소재(RIZ 그룹)는 우수한 레진 시멘트와의 결합강도를 보였지만, 그에 비해 굴곡강도는 상대적으로 통상적인 지르코니아 소재보다 비교적 취약한 결과를 보였다.

A Study on the Physical Characteristics of Concrete using Multi-Component Blended Binder According to Warter Reduction Efficiency of Warter Reduction Agent (감수제의 감수 효율에 따른 다성분계 결합재를 사용한 콘크리트의 물리적 특성에 관한 기초적 연구)

  • In this study, multi-component blended concrete mix with fly ash and ground granulated blast furnace slag according to 3 level of type of warter reduction agent (type of 0%, 8% and 16%) and 3 level of water-binder ratio (40%, 45% and 50%) was prepared for evaluation of effect of physical characteristics of concrete using multi-component blended binder according to warter reduction efficiency of warter reduction agent. In addition, concrete mix was carried out repetition test of three times in order to secure the reliability. As a result, compressive strength according to type of warter reduction agent was found that difference of strength was about 20% occurred, warter reduction efficiency of warter reduction agent was showed that a great influence on qualities of concrete. Therefore, reflected the effect of warter reduction efficiency of warter reduction agent, prediction model equations of compressive strength for multi-component blended concrete was proposed, it was found that more than 90% of the high correlation.

Physicochemical Properties of Methyl Linoleate Oxidized at Various Temperatures (온도에 따라 산화된 Methyl Linoleate의 물리화학적 특성)

  • Methyl linoleate was oxidized at 60, 90, 120 and $150^{\circ}C$, respectively, with sparging oxygen for different periods of time. On the basis of the peroxide values determined at four temperatures, four heating times were chosen for the analysis of physicochemical parameters, such as peroxide value, total oxidation products, polymer content, viscosity, refractive index and characteristics of thermal degradation by DSC (Differential Scanning Calorimeter). The content of peroxide linkage (C-O-O-C) polymer and ether or carbon to carbon linkage (C-O-C/C-C) polymer were analyzed by High Performance Size Exclusion Chromatography (HPSEC). The polymer formed at four temperatures was qualitatively identified as dimer. The polymer with peroxide linkage (C-O-O-C) were detected from methyl linoleate oxidized at $60^{\circ}C\;and\;90^{\circ}C$, but they were not detected from methyl linoleate oxidized at $120^{\circ}C\;and\;150^{\circ}C$. The enthalpy changes increased as peroxide value increased whereas maximum degradation temperature decreased. The highest correlation coefficients were obtained between maximum degradation temperature $(T_m)$, exothermic enthalpy changes and peroxide value, peroxide linkage (C-O-O-C) polymer content.

Plasma Surface Modification of Graphene and Combination with Bacteria Cellulose (Graphene의 플라즈마 표면 개질과 박테리아 셀룰로오스와의 결합성 검토)

  • The study was focused to evaluate the possibility for combination membrane of bacterial cellulose (BC) and graphene with high electrical properties. BC with natural polymer matrix was known to have strong physical strength. For the combination of graphene with BC, the surface of graphene was modified with oxygen plasma by changing strength and time of radio waves in room temperature. Water contact angle of modified graphene grew smaller from $130^{\circ}$ to $12^{\circ}$. XPS analysis showed that oxygen content after treatment increased from 2.99 to 10.98%. Damage degree of graphene was examined from $I_D/I_G$ ratio of Raman analysis. $I_D/I_G$ ratio of non-treated graphene (NTG) was 0.11, and 0.36 to 0.43 in plasma treated graphene (PTG), increasing structural defects of PTG. XRD analysis of PTG membrane with BC was $2{\theta}$ same to BC only, indicating chemically combined membrane. In FT-IR analysis, 1,000 to 1,300 $cm^{-1}$ (C=O) peak indicating oxygen radicals in PTG membrane had formed was larger than NTG membrane. The results suggest that BC as an alternation of plastic material for graphene combination has a possibility in some degree on the part like transparent conductive films.

Organic-Inorganic Nanocomposites of Polystyrene with Polyhedral Oligomeric Silsesquioxane (실세스키옥세인을 사용한 폴리스티렌 나노복합재료)

  • Polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxanes (POSS) were used as starting materials for the preparation of hybrid materials with polystyrene (PS). Optically transparent hybrids were obtained in a wide range of weight ratios when phenyl groups were introduced to each corner of the silsesquioxane. In contrast, as cyclohexyl groups were introduced, the obtained hybrid materials with PS resulted in turbid films. The aromatic (${\pi}-{\pi}$) interaction was confirmed to be a quite effective tool for the synthesis of organic-Inorganic polymer hybrids with POSS. The obtained homogeneous and transparent hybrid films could be dissolved in solvents and East again without any separation. The homogeneity of polymer hybrids with POSS was supported by the result of scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), which demonstrated a nanometer-level integration of PS and POSS.

  • In order to investigate the physical properties of rubber blend compound, this experiment was carried out on the cure rate, loss tangent, reinforcement and abrasion properties of S-SBR (solution styrene-butadiene rubber) blends containing silane coupled silica and E-SBR (emulsion styrene-butadiene rubber) blends containing carbon black as a model compound. E-SBR blend showed the highest total bound rubber(TBR), while S-SBR blends showed constant TBR level regardless of rubber type. Rapid cure rate was achieved when the styrene and vinyl content of rubber microstructure decreased and TBR content of rubber compounds increased. The modulus as the index of rubber reinforcement showed the linear relation with TBR content. The large amount of PICO loss was observed when the styrene and vinyl content of rubber microstructure increased, while the small amount of PICO loss was observed when the ratio of bu-tadiene increased in the S-SBR blends with silane copuled silica. The high loss tangent at $0^{\circ}C$, the low loss tangent at $60^{\circ}C$, and the large difference of loss tangent were shown in the S-SBR blends with high styrene content compared to E-SBR blend.

Coupled-Line Directional Coupler Using Artificial Transmission Line (인공전송선로를 이용한 결합선로 방향성 결합기)

  • In this paper, a coupled line directional coupler using an LUC(Low-pass filter Unit Cell) of artificial transmission line is presented. The conventional coupled line coupler is limited in length by the ${\lambda}/4$ transmission line while the proposed coupling structure is implemented smaller than $90^{\circ}$ by inserting the phase delay line between two coupled line, reduced in physical size by configuring a phase delay line with an LUC having the characteristics of a typical transmission line in a particular frequency. A coupler having -10 dB coupling factor at the center frequency of 700 MHz is designed, fabricated. The measured result agrees well with that of conventional one. The length of the fabricated coupled line coupler has about 45 % in length compared to the conventional one.

  • 열악한 환경에서 동작해야 하거나 물리적 접근이 어려운 곳에 장착되는 센서 시스템의 경우, 유선에 의한 정보전달이 어려울 뿐만 아니라 센서 내 전원설비가 제한적인 수도 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제점에 대한 해결책으로서 밧데리없이 유도결합에 의하여 원격 센서로부터 정보 취득이 가능한 한 방법을 제안하였다. 이 방법은 전원공급에 의한 유도 결합식의 원격 센서 시스템과는 달리, 원격 센서의 정전용량을 변 복조 과정 없이 재귀적 최소 자승 추정법에 의해 센서의 정전용량을 고정도로 추정하는 것이다. 이를 위하여 시 스템의 유도결합 모델을 사용하였으며, 모델 파라미터가 시간에 따라 변화하는 경우에는 망각률을 사용하여 정확도가 높은 원격 센서 시스템을 구현할 수 있었다.
