A Study on the Improvement of the Korean Industrial Standards Related to Logistics Centers : Based on Logistics Activities and Infrastructures (물류센터의 물류활동과 인프라를 고려한 한국산업규격(KS)의 개선방향에 대한 연구)

  • This paper classifies and defines the infrastructure factors required to performance various logistics activities in domestic logistics centers as base facility, logistics facility, logistics equipment and operation system. The classification of infrastructure factors in this research provide the standard to be able to identify which infrastructure influence on logistics activities directly or indirectly. Also, this paper reviews Korean industrial Standards('KS') related to logistics center and then suggests the reformation of KS reflected on the logistics activities and infrastructures with field-study(321 domestic centers) and advisory meeting1). This review and suggestion can increase the low awareness and use of KS. Lastly, this paper can contribute to increase the effective of logistics centers' plan and operation by providing the improvement direction of KS regarding to logistics centers.

  • Logistics industry was changed after China join into the WTO. Compared with other countries, cost of logistics is very high in China. Besides, there are several problems with the demand basis, service and information technology of the third-party logistics. The forth-party logistics was appeared in logistics market in this context. The forth-party logistics was just become to develop in China so there are many problems recent years. Chinese government propose some solutions with the development of the fourth-party logistics such as the adjustment of the logistics industry policy, strengthening of the logistics information system and infrastructure, training logistics expertise. This research pointed out the obstacles in the development of the forth-party logistics in China by analyzing the present situation and the development strategy of some representative companies such as ANDE Logistics Company and Philips Logistics Company. The purpose of this paper is to research the development of the forth-party logistics in China by analyzing the problems with Chinese government and logistics companies, and finally bring up some solutions with these problems.

The Economic Impacts of the Depreciation of Korean Won on the Production Costs of the Korean Logistics Industry (환율급등이 국내물류산업의 생산비에 미치는 파급효과 분석)

  • The short-term impact of the recent depreciation of Korean Won on the cost of the Korean logistics industry, which was caused by the global liquidity crisis began from the American financial market in 2007, is analyzed through the inter-industry analysis. The input-output data of the 2007 benchmark input-output accounts table which was most recently published by the Bank of Korea in 2009 have been utilized for the analysis. The results show that the cost of the Korean logistics industry as a whole rises 4.24% when the Korean exchange rate is depreciated by 10%. The impact of the depreciation of Korean exchange rate on the cost of the Korean logistics industry for December, 2007 ~ December, 2008 is estimated to be about 31.1 billion Won. If the Korean logistics companies should cover the rising cost of 11.7 billion Won only through sales promotion, then they should sell 1.9 times as much their current sales amount, which means 101.6 billion Won's worth of sales should be made.

  • Companies are facing challenges to have high competitiveness because of continuous oil price rising and CO2 emissions regulations. Thus, companies are trying hard to construct effective logistics and operation system to achieve high customer service quality and saving cost. Also the ec-friendly idustrial complex is needed. Busan is in process to construct GILC(Global Industry Logistics City) in west Busan province to achieve high competitiveness and support lack of industrial complex. To construct this kind of logistics industrial complex, it needs logistics system through proper policy and freight transportation co-operation. Especially, efficient management through logistics hierarchy construction in industrial complex is very important for low cost and eco-friendly point of view. Therefore, this paper aims to analyze logistics system and suggest operation model to present logistics complex construction base data.

Model of Korean Value-added Logistics Cluster (한국형 부가가치물류클러스터 모형에 관한 연구)

  • The "logistics industry" is recommended as an economic growth power in the future in Korea. In the past, Korea has handled China's freight volume overflow as a transfer hub. However, recently China has been constructing its own port facilities and many mega fleets have been moving to China's ports. As a result, the position of Korea's hub-ports facing a crisis. Now, new strategies are necessary for renovating Korea's logistics industry and international competitiveness. This study proposes a "value-added logistics cluster" as a new strategy. In particular, this study proposes a Korean value-added logistics cluster that maximizes Korea's locational and industrial advantages. Additionally, a model for a value-added logistics cluster is proposed for the rehabilitation of Korea's ports as logistics hubs in Northeast Asia. Many analyses are executed step-by-step to develop a Korean value-added logistics cluster model, such as an analysis of the relationship between the logistics industry and other industries for the definition of cluster components. Lastly, the Korean value-added logistics cluster model is applied to Kwangyang port, which is currently confronted with a crisis because of the decrease of freight volume.

  • This study aims to identify the impact of the logistics industry on the Korean national economy. To do this, we used a MRIO table provided by the Bank of Korea which includes inter and intra regional relationship of the production and consumption for 6 areas - the Seoul Metropolitan, Gangwon, Chungcheong, Jeonra, Gyeongbuk, Gyeongnam area, but an original MRIO table was recomposed of 29 sectors focused on logistics industry for the purpose of this study. we analyzed producing-inducing effects, supply-shortage effects and inter-industry linkage effects based on logistics industry by region and industry. As a result, the logistics industry has more supply-shortage effect rather than production-inducing effect and has a higher ripple effect on the automotive in Gyeongnam area and petrochemical industry in Jeonra area. In particular, the ripple effect of th Metropolitan logistic industry was far smaller than that of other areas, because the Seoul Metropolitan industry was identified as the primary and middle demand industry.

  • >> 한국물류대상 시상식 거행 2003 한국물류대상에서 최영재 (주)LG홈쇼핑 대표가 최고상인 동탑산업훈장을 수상했다. 한국물류혁신대회의 일환으로 지난 17일 코엑스 그랜드 컨퍼런스 룸에서 개최된 2003 한국물류대상 시상식에서 최영재 LG홈쇼핑 대표를 비롯해 15개 업체와 개인 등이 각각 수상했다. 한국물류대상은 건설교통부가 주퇴하고 한국물류협회가 주관하는 행사로 국가물류와 기업물류 발전을 위해 탁월하게 물류개선을 이룬 기업 또는 단체 등을 발굴하여 포상하는 행사로 올해로 9번째를 맞았다. 산업포장은 백옥인 한국물류정보통신(주) 대표와 여성구 범한종합물류(즈) 대표가 수상했고 웅진코웨이개발(주), 엑소후레쉬물류(주), (주)엑스로지스, (주)아세테크, (주)에프지에프 등 5개사는 대통령 표창을, 삼영물류(주), (주)티오피해운항공, 차중근 (주)유한양행 대표는 국무총리 표창을 각각 받았다. (주)해우종합물류, (주)천안물류, 최승락 한국통운(주) 대표는 건설교통부 장관 표창을, (주)오에프에이 시스템은 매일경제신문사 사장상을 각각 수상했다.

  • 한국파렛트컨테이너협회가 주최하고 산업통상자원부, 기술표준원, 물류신문사가 후원하는 제10회 한국파렛트컨테이너산업대상 시상식이 지난 달 11일 기술표준원 중강당에서 열렸다. 10회째를 맞이한 한국파렛트컨테이너산업대상은 우리나라 산업물류의 혁신을 위한 시상식으로 일관수송용 국가표준 파렛트인 T-11형 파렛트 및 이와 정합성을 갖는 표준 컨테이너의 생산 및 사용 등 보급확산을 통하여, 물류비를 절감하고 국가경쟁력을 향상시켜가는 우수한 기업과 이에 공헌한 개인을 발굴 하고 있다. 이를 통해 우리나라의 모든 기업들이 유닛로드시스템을 구축하여 물류표준화를 통한 산업물류 효율화를 앞당기는데 기여하고자 매년 시행되고 있다. 나아가 아시아의 표준 파렛트에 의한 유닛로드시스템의 구축으로 막힘없는 물류의 목표를 달성해 나가는데 보다 더 효과적인 계기가 될 것으로 기대하고 있다. 영예의 산업통상자원부 장관 표창에는 (주)이마트, 구리청과(주), 진성산업(주), 전일목재산업(주), 한국포장기술연구소 김영호 소장이 수상했다. 기술표준원장 표창에는 (주)코스모스제과, 영농조합법인 광수, 한성목재공업(주), (주)한성목재, 유한킴벌리(주) 정성태 수석부장이 수상했으며 한국파렛트컨테이너협회장 표창으로는 (주)렉셈, 청아랑영농조합법인, 우리프라스틱공업(주)가 수상했다. 본 고에서는 제10회 한국파렛트컨테이너산업대상 수상 업체 및 수상자들의 공적사항을 살펴보도록 한다.
