Logistics companies have rapidly developed as an important component of economic activities, but due to the special performance management method of logistics companies, problems in performance evaluation are emerging. This paper presented a strategy for improving performance by analyzing the management performance of 19 listed logistics companies in China. Operating expenses, R&D expenses, labor costs, and general management expenses were adopted as input variables, and operating profit and net profit were adopted as output variables. DEA efficiency was assessed by the BBC model from 2016 to 2021 using DEAP 2.1 software. As a result of analyzing the annual management performance, some listed logistics companies showed stable and forward-looking performance results.

Jeon-buk is well equipped for the growth of the logistics industry as it is the center of inland and marine traffic. However, it was not activated because of the infrastructure insufficiency. This paper surveyed the logistics industry facilities, interviewed people who are engaged in its business, researched into their business difficulties and the problem of the logistics industry of Jeon-buk. As a result of research, this paper makes an alternative plan for the development of the logistics industry of Jeon-buk area.

Typical activity-based travel analysis has been focused on passenger travel using household survey data. The current research focuses on freight transport using one-day travel survey data. Passenger travel can be seen as the outcome of traveller's subjective decision-making, whereas freight transport is the outcome of shipper or transport company's optimized scheduling. The research conducts an activity-based analysis of freight-vehicle trip chains. In particular, the research focuses on the difference in travel pattern between shipper-oriented private vehicle and transport company-oriented business vehicle. The research analyzed the travel diary of freight vehicles collected as part of the third national logistic survey in 2005. The diary is freight driver's one-day travel record including the information of loading capacity, item transported, destination, arrival time, etc. The analysis results show the difference between private and business vehicles in the travel pattern regarding the sequences of destination, destination type and item transported and the multi-dimensional information of the three sequences.

The pattern of urban transport activity has two major components: the movement of people and the movement of goods. Roads in urban areas carry large number of trucks laden with goods that support urban economy and lifestyle. Therefore urban goods movement plays a vital role, but at the same time, urban goods movement are an important source of congestion, and a major contributor to the adverse environmental and social impacts of urban transport. In addition, the demand for goods movement is growing at a faster rate than personal travel in many cities, due to changes in industry logistics and consumer purchasing patterns. As a result, the significance of urban freight activity is increasing in terms of both its role in urban economy and its adverse impacts on urban amenity. This study is focused on the role and involvement scope of metropolitan government in urban logistics aimed at increasing its efficiency and reducing its negative impacts. The major suggestions of this study are (a) development of a measure of urban goods movement activity, (b) evaluation of data requirements and availability, (c) dialogue between the public sector and private sector, and (d) the role of metropolitan government.

Nowadays, the third-party logistics is getting special attention as one of the most useful ways to perform the logistics management effectively. In this current trend, however, there are many firms which carry out the logistics activities by themselves and strengthen the competitiveness. In respect of contingency theory, the firms' logistics management types should depend on their logistics environment and characteristics, and then the logistics performances vary with this suitability. In this context, this study analyzed empirically the difference of the logistics performances due to the fitness between their logistics characteristics and the management types. According to the finding, the study showed that the third-party logistics is more suitable when the importance and weight of logistics operation and the weight of their export are greater respectively, and the self-logistics is more suitable when the logistics cost is higher. Futhermore, the study indicated that the firms whose relationship between the characteristics and the management types is fit in their logistics are better than the others in the outcome of logistics cost reduction and the effectiveness of logistics operation.

This paper reviews achievements of logistics warehousing industry in terms of sustainable management. The introduction part of the study discusses the theoretical definitions of sustainable management and sustainable development; later part is a case study on sustainable management of in the industry. Also, this paper includes an empirical study on the influence of sustainable management activities on the customer satisfaction and corporate trust through questionnaire survey.

This study examines the relationships between typical anticipated benefit factors of introducing online business activities by traditional brick-and-mortar shipping and port logistics companies and their performance in marketing mix and global competitiveness. Three major benefit factors were derived including improved trust, information acquiring and limitation of offline business activities. The three empirically derived critical synergy factors were then used to examine how they improve the firms performance in marketing mix and global competitiveness. The results of structural equation modeling method show that the anticipated benefit factors significantly influence the firms' performance in marketing mix. Subsequently, marketing mix significantly influence the firms' global competitiveness. The results provide useful guidelines for the shipping and port logistics firms to develop appropriate marketing mix strategies to improve their global competitiveness.

물류에서는 재화 또는 정보의 흐름이 매우 중요하다. 그 동안 우리나라에서는 물류시스템을 물리적인 시설로 간주 시설의 공급에만 관심을 기울여 왔다. 그 결과 물류활동을 지원할 수 있을 만한 정보시스템의 구축이 충분히 이루어지지 못하였다. 본 연구에서는 화물운송을 위주로 한 화물유통체계의 합리화 방안을 모색하기 위하여 교통부분과 밀접한 연계를 갖는 첨단화물운송체계의 도입효과를 논의하고 Life-Cycle Cost의 개념을 이용하여 첨단화물운송체계의 시스템 대안을 평가하였다. 분석결과 노변 통신시스템을 이용한 시스템의 구성이 중장기적으로 유리한 것으로 평가되었다. 이는 통신비의 부담이 시설의 유지보수비의 부담보다 크기 때문이다. 그러나 노변통신시스템시설은 표준화 등의 문제로 아직 적용에 문제점들이 많으며 낙뢰 등 비용산정에 포함되지 못한 유지보수의 추가비용이 발생할 소지가 크다. 그러므로 교통시설의 특징에 따라 두 접근방식을 혼용하는 방안이 검토되어야 한다.

정부는 최근 인천, 부산, 광양 등 3개 지역 경제자유구역청을 조직$\cdot$인사$\cdot$재정 등에서 자율성과 독립적인$\cdot$허가권을 행사하는 특별지방자치단체로 격상키로 하였다. 외자유치를 통한 원스톱 행정서비스를 제공하기 위해서다. 현재는 외자유치시 각 상급 지자체를 돌아다니며 인허가를 받아야 하기 때문이다. 하지만 특별지자체는 통상의 지자체와 구별되기 때문에 상위 단체의 규제를 받지 않고, 외자유치 등의 특수 목적을 위해서는 최대한의 자율적 권한을 갖게 된다. 이렇듯 정부에서도 경제자유구역청에 많은 관심과 힘을 쏟고 있다고 할 수 있다. 3개 지역의 경제자유구역청 중 가장 왕성한 활동을 펼치면서 외자유치에 모범이 되는 곳이 있다. 바로 광양만권경제자유구역청. 지난해 3월에 개청되어 타 경제자유구역청보다 늦게 출발하였지만 그 결과는 정 반대다. 광양만권경제자유구역청의 초대 청장으로 부임한 백옥인 청장은 포스코터미널 등 8개 업체로부터 9034만달러의 투자를 유치하고 국내외 15개 업체와 2조 720억원에 달하는 투자의향서를 교환하는 등 광양만권을 발전시키기 위해 노력하고 있다. 나아가, 광양에 대한 국제 인지도를 높이고 도로 등 SOC를 확충해 기본적인 투자환경을 조성해 가면서, 동북아 경제 및 물류 거점도시로 발돋움하기 위한 구체적인 계획을 하나하나 펼쳐 나가고 있다.
