  • The purpose of this study is to suggest the logistics strategies for the improvement Gunsan port's competitiveness. To accomplish the purpose, this paper reviews the concept & function of logistics firstly. Next we find out the main factors of improving port's competitiveness, build the basic model of the logistics strategy and apply the model to the case of Gunsan port. The strategies to improve the competitiveness of Gunsan port are as follows ; (1) Construction of logistics environment (2) Planning the port marketing for the extension a logistic market share (3) Construction of logistics chain and finally (4) Construction of logistics community.

  • The goals of this paper are to analyze the present status of logistics on the Dongbei area in China and present implications to the related Korean companies. The mainland of China is very huge, we need to study each regional logistics of China separately. The Dongbei area is more than three times as much as the Korean peninsula, and the population is over two times as much as the two Koreas. Therefore, Korea which is trying to be a logistics hub in Northeast Asia has to pay attention to the logistics of China. This study tries to analyze the logistics of the Dongbei area, but except for the Liaoning province, we needs more information.

  • Currently, the adoption of FTZ( Free Trade Zone) has been recognized as one of the most important strategies for becoming hub port in the world. For this reason, various policies for successful implementation and adoption of FTZ have been presented, and u special law related this FTZ was actually built in 1999. In the mean time, a port logistics industry is deeply related to the successful implementation of FTZ. However, although many research about FTZ have been conducted, there have been little previous studies about port logistics firms and FTZ. Thus, the aim of this study is to investigate a market structure of firms related to Port Logistics effectively and to analyze the perception of these firms about FTZ in Busan.

  • 본 논문은 RFID/USN 서비스의 국내외 시장 전망 및 적용 사례를 분석하였으며, 향후 서비스를 확대 할 수 있는 방안을 제시하였다. 국내외 RFID/USN 서비스 시장 규모는 기기 시장보다 더 커질 것으로 전망되며, 국방/안보, 항공/항만, 도로/교통, 유통/물류, 산업/건설, 제조/공정, 식품/농수 축산, 의료/보건, 도서/출판, 교육/문화/엔터테인먼트, 보안/방범, 재난/재해/환경 등의 분야에서 다양하게 적용되고 있는 것으로 나타났다. RFID/USN 서비스를 확대하기 위해서는 공공 분야를 중심으로 한 대규모 선도 수요 창출이 선행되어야 하며, 모바일 RFID 등 신규 서비스의 창출 및 활성화를 위한 정책 대안이 마련되어야 한다. 그리고 RFID/USN 서비스의 시장 규모와 보급시기 등을 고려하여 우선적으로 적용해야 할 서비스의 발굴을 확대하고, RFID/USN 도입 성과를 가시화하여 민간의 수요를 촉발할 필요가 있다.

The Financialization in the Commodity Markets and Hedge Funds' Financial Speculation (상품시장의 금융화의 헤지펀드의 금융적 투기)

  • This paper suggests that, in contrast to main argument of Efficient Market Hypothesis, hedge funds's financial speculation activity in the commodity markets are tending to generate a malfunction of making future price diverge from fundamental price. For this reason, we insist that stricter regulation on commodity derivative markets, including position limitation, is needed. Using some statistic analysis tools, we show that derivative transaction volume is getting so larger that financial speculation by hedge funds dominates price movement in commodity market and eventually slackens the speed of price's return to the fundamental price.

An Importance-Performance Analysis of Location Selection Factors for International Distribution Center in Port Hinterland (IPA기법을 통한 항만배후단지 내 국제물류센터 입주결정요인 분석)

  • As a consequence of the changed role and functions in port operations, the role of port hinterland has transformed to multi-functional logistic centre linking more efficiently elements of the supply chain. This paper analysed distribution centre selection factors in Busan new port hinterland, aiming to diagnose and evaluate the operational situations of port hinterland as multi-functional logistics centre. Based on a data collected from all 122 samples located in Busan new port hinterland, determinants for location competitiveness identified were: political support, market potentiality, infrastructure utilization, market niche, and connectivity. Comparing the difference between an importance and performance, it is revealed that the target port hinterland requires urgent improvement in political supports such as incentive programmes offered by host country, free trade system and related law, financial assistance in constructing distribution centers, and simplicity, ease and efficiency of administrative procedures. The results provide useful insights for establishing future improvement strategies and a strategic agenda to successfully respond to the demands of the companies located in port hinterlands and/or new customers those who want to move in.

  • The advancement in technology including transportation and information communication has accelerated the flow of supplies, and the importance of the national logistics policy has increased following the expansion of the regional range of logistics to a national range. The rapid growth of the domestic logistics market results in the deficit of logistics facilities, inefficient operation of logistics facilities, and a complicated distribution structure. It has precipitated a plan aimed at efficiency improvement by building base logistics facilities, but this market is now undergoing difficulties due to low performance. Many studies on the revitalization of base logistics facilities have been conducted, but a causal analysis focusing on the function overlap of private logistics businesses has been absent. Therefore, this study has analyzed the function overlap of logistics facilities and the irrationality of the system, which resulted from the lost function of Inland Freight bases in the Yeongnam region. By suggesting the cause of disuse of base logistics complexes from the function overlap in the ground transportation of domestic freight, the study can provide the policy implication for the national logistics infrastructure.

  • 국내 패키징 산업의 규모와 현황을 분석, 추정하기 위하여 산업통상자원부와 생산기술연구원(패키징기술센터)이 '2012년 패키징 산업 통계조사'를 실시하였으며, 조사 결과 국내 패키징 산업 시장 규모는 지속적인 성장세를 보이고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 2011년도 패키징 산업 매출액 규모는 총33조 4,227억원으로 추정되었고 2010년(31조 2,932억원) 대비 68% 증가하였으며, 이는 세계 패키징 시장(약 6,700억 달라 2016년까지 8,200억 달러 3% 성장률) 성장률의 2배로 빠르게 증가하는 것으로 조사되었다. 이와 관련하여 '2012년도 패키징산업 통계조사 결과'를 요약한 내용 전문을 한국생산기술연구원 패키징기술센터로부터 입수 받아 본 잡지에 게재하오니 독자 여러분의 많은 활용 바랍니다.
