  • Creative teaching methods can be beneficial in enhancing creativity and self-directed learning abilities in the classroom. However, there may be some specific learning tasks where applying creative teaching methods can be difficult. This is because students may not have completed the necessary prerequisite learning before performing the learning task, leading to low reliability of task results or meaninglessness. This study aims to propose teaching methods that enhance creativity and self-directed learning ability when performing learning tasks that may not have sufficient prior learning. To achieve this, we present a case of applying creative teaching methods to a learning task called "national threats". As a research procedure, we provide a suitable teaching method model and detailed procedures for the given learning task, and apply them in actual classes. The results showed that applying the presented teaching methods for the learning task produced meaningful academic achievements. This study can be valuable not only for enhancing creativity in education but also for interdisciplinary research in fields such as education and national security.

  • Creative industries and creative occupations have been attracting issues in recent years, in both policy and academic fields. Although no literature has yet made all-embracing definitions of creative sectors, it is important to measure creative workers who are contributing to the national economy. Since 2000, many countries including UK, France, Germany, Finland, Hongkong, US, Canada, etc. have tried to develop more refined mapping methodologies for measuring the creative economy. However we are lack of deep scrutiny in the criteria select which sector is creative or not, as well as in existing methodologies for measuring creative employment. This paper presents a creative mapping methodology, called 'Creative Trident' and criteria that can be applied to measuring the scale of creative employment in Korea. Using annual labor data from Statistics Korea and Ministry of Employment and Labor, this research found that creative employment in Korea amounts to 40,922 and 6.65% of total employment. Also the research found that there are many workers who are creatively occupied outside the creative industries, called embedded creative workers which are 248,445 and 33.5% of total creative employment. That means embedded workers take some large portion of all creative workers and are dispersed across all the sectors of the economy. The research demonstrates that creative trident can be useful to estimate the true size of creative employment in Korean and finishes with some academical and practical implications.

  • In this paper, the creation method of edutainment content among cultural content types was studied. Edutainment aimed to enhance the creative thinking power through the "TRIZ theory" as an element of fun and education for learners at the same time. In this study, the modified OSTM-TRIZ theory was used not only in the technical field but also in the general sector. I proposed a model in which creative thinking can be enhanced to solve problems by analyzing contradictions encountered in the process of presenting problems. Nonlinear digital storytelling in animated folktales can elicit sufficient curiosity from learners, and problem presentation, problem resolution and contradiction analysis using OTSM-TRIZ work as an educational system to develop learners' creativity.

This study deals with the degree to which the students exploit the creativity, and the obstacles for them to exploit the creativity. Another purpose of this study is to explore their implicit knowledge of Korean creative environments. The results are as follows. The implicit knowledge of Korean creativity could be characterized by the following key words: 'flexibility', 'application', 'transformation', 'originality', 'perseverance', 'not being stereotyped', 'esthetic flavor' and 'understanding-new-by-exploring-old'. Students thought themselves to be more or less creative. Students in art and physical education, and male students estimated themselves more creative than other discipline and female. They thought that socio-institutional factors such as educational system focused on the college entrance test are the most serious obstacles against creativity. About half of the students thought the creative persons would have been raised in poor family whereas other students thought differently. The home environment of the creative person was thought to be characterized by the words such as democratic, free and encouraging. Creative persons were thought to be maladaptive school life, but good at peer relations. This study will be used as a pioneer research which suggest a model of Korean creativity.
