Cockpit 내에서도 다른 사회영역과 마찬가지로 "기장", "부기장"이라는 직함 및 직급에 의한 상하관계의 권력거리가 형성된다. 권력거리가 높은 우리나라 사회에서는 다른 사회영역과 마찬가지로 Cockpit 내에서도 권력거리가 높게 나타남은 분명한 사실이다. 그러므로 사회적 심리거리를 느끼는 부기장은 기장에게 운항안전에 관한 조언을 하는 데 있어서 상대적으로 위축되며, 또한 그러한 분위기도 형성되어 있지 않다. 따라서 승무원 간의 긴밀한 협력이 요구되는 Cockpit 환경에서 상호 간의 적극적인 Communication이 이루어져야 하지만 이러한 사회적 분위기 때문에 조언이 위축되고 크고 작은 운항안전 event, 심지어는 대형 사고로 이어질 수 있는 위험성을 내포하고 있다. 따라서 한국식 사고와 문화적 의식을 지니고 있는 조종사들은 문화적 마찰을 겪을 수 있다. 이러한 그들의 문화가 잘 스며든 효율적이고 안전한 운항을 위해서는 간단히 말해 그들의 문화와 맞추는 노력이 필요하다. 즉, 권력거리가 낮추는 연습이 필요 하다. 따라서 교육훈련도 거기에 맞추는 권력거리를 낮은 방식의 교육훈련이 효과적일 수 있다. 권력거리가 낮은 문화권의 교육의 중심은 교관과 학생간의 낮은 권력거리가 특징이다. 이를 바탕으로 교육훈련의 중심을 학생중심으로 맞추어 학생의 적극적인 참여를 이끌며, 교육자인 교관은 "Facilitator"로서의 역할을 수행할 필요성이 있다. 결과적으로는 학생과 교관과의 낮은 권력거리를 체험, 연습하게 되며, 실제 라인에서도 이러한 관계가 기장 부기장으로 이어지는 상하관계에 있어서도 주도적으로 참여, 조언할 수 있는 밑바탕을 제공해주어야 한다.

This paper aims to examine the causes and features of current generational conflicts in Korea and to discuss their implications. The data utilized in the study include collective data on presidential and general elections and secondary data obtained from empirical research. The findings are as follows. First, generational power conflicts express itself by struggles among generations concerning the timing of political power transfer. An average age of assemblymen decreases consistently regardless of changes in overriding ideological atmosphere in general - conservative vs. liberal. Second, ideological conflicts among generations were highly intensified around 2002 presidential election, but gradually moderated since 2004 general election. The conflicts might be re-intensified if a set of conditions were satisfied. Third, cultural conflicts between older and younger generations were contrasted around three cultual axes: economic growth with top priority vs. consumerism, collectivism vs. individualism, and authoritarianism vs. post-authoritarianism. To ease strained relations between generations, intergenerational programs were suggested.

This study is concerned with analysing complexity, flexibility and dynamism of social discoursive space. The developmental process of social discourse is analogous to that of a spatial structure of social discourse. Post-capitalist society has seen New-Liberalism and New-Conservatism have become dominant, resulting in the deterioration of the cultural politics of citizenship. It is argued that the position of otherness, in which those binary structures (inside/outside or centre/margin) collide and collapse, is where subversive discourse can emerge to dominant discursive power. Furthermore, it is necessary to democratize social discursive space, through which the Other becomes able to. participate in the social production, distribution and consumption of social discourse.

Star is riddled with myth while they form the star power and support advertisers for profit realization. Their influence on society and audiences grows day by day. In particular, advertisers depend on star power when they sell their products. This article analyzed the nature of the star power dominating media resources and offering the distorted picture of consumer culture. I take a political economic view of consumer capitalism and star. The article shows how stars contribute to the accumulation of capital and defense of class relations in the consumer culture.

This paper is an attempt to explain the interpretation of P. Ricoeur on the theory of power of Saint Paul. P. Ricoeur tried to reinterpret Saint Paul's thoughts on the power of a nation, the purpose being to link this theory to salvation through the social system. Ricoeur expands this interpretation of political power to the economy and culture. The basis of these ideas is the 'imago Dei' namely the image of God. I would like to consider the image of God as the key to salvation through social system, politics, economy, and culture.

This study proposes smart-phone game applications success model based on mobile internet success model and investigates the effects of cultural propensities especially, uncertainty avoidance and power distance at the individual level. To achieve our research purposes, the study conducted survey in Korea and a total of 221 people participated in the survey. We classified user types by cultural difference as a moderating variable. User's cultural propensity classified two groups: high uncertainty avoidance and high power distance, low uncertainty avoidance and low power distance. This study results reveal that the impact of quality factors on user satisfaction have difference according to cultural propensities.

What is the impact of intercultural understanding and communication on a 'foreign' company's performance? We suggest that a firm's localization is a bilateral process requiring mutual understanding and respect of the foreign and indigenous cultures. To assess this argument, we investigate the relationship between mutual understanding (measured by power distance, communication satisfaction, and cross-cultural understanding) on organizational performance at Korean firms employing Indonesian workers in Indonesia. Survey and statistical results indicate that firm performance was negatively affected by power distance and positively affected by cross-cultural understanding. The results suggest a new perspective on enhancing the organization's performance for overseas operations. While it is necessary for Korean investors to understand local culture, educating local managers on Korean culture better enhances organizational performance.
