Uncertainty Data Reasoning Considering User Preferences Based on Dempster-Shafer Theory (사용자 성향을 고려한 Dempster-Shafer Theory 기반의 불확실한 데이터 추론)

  • 상황인식 서비스 분야에서 불확실한 데이터를 추론하는 것은 매우 어렵고 복잡하다. 이러한 상황정보들에서 얻어지는 데이터는 불확실성을 내포하고 있어서 불확실한 추론 결과를 초래할 수 있다. 비록 불확실성 문제들을 해결하기 위해 퍼지 이론, 뉴런 네트워크, 동적 베이지안 네트워크, 은닉 마르코프 모델과 같은 여러 종류의 방법들이 제시되었지만 이러한 방법들은 가설들을 하나의 숫자에 의해 신뢰의 정도를 표시하기 때문에 많은 어려움이 있다. 본 논문에서는 사용자들이 제공받는 서비스들에 대하여 만족도를 평가한 후 수집된 데이터를 활용하여 사용자들의 상관 관계를 분석한다. 그리고 Dempster-Shafer 이론을 사용하여 사용자들로부터 측정된 믿음 값을 융합한다. 이는 불확실성 값을 낮추어 추론결과의 정확성을 높이고 증거구간을 재설정하여 사용자들에게 신뢰성 있는 적응형 서비스를 제공하게 한다.

Toward a Possibility of the Unified Model of Cognition (통합적 인지 모형의 가능성)

  • Models for human cognition currently discussed in cognitive science cannot be appropriate ones. The symbolic model of the traditional artificial intelligence works for reasoning and problem-solving tasks, but doesn't fit for pattern recognition such as letter/sound cognition. Connectionism shows the contrary phenomena to those of the traditional artificial intelligence. Connectionist systems has been shown to be very strong in the tasks of pattern recognition but weak in most of logical tasks. Brooks' situated action theory denies the. notion of representation which is presupposed in both the traditional artificial intelligence and connectionism and suggests a subsumption model which is based on perceptions coming from real world. However, situated action theory hasn't also been well applied to human cognition so far. In emphasizing those characteristics of models I refer those models 'left-brain model', 'right-brain model', and 'robot model' respectively. After I examine those models in terms of substantial items of cognitions- mental state, mental procedure, basic element of cognition, rule of cognition, appropriate level of analysis, architecture of cognition, I draw three arguments of embodiment. I suggest a way of unifying those existing models by examining their theoretical compatability which is found in those arguments.

  • This study examines the social problem-solving R&D policies from the perspective of 'Mission-oriented innovation policy'. To this end, we analyzed the 'second science and technology-based social problem solving plan' in terms of civil society's participation, securing the government's dynamic capabilities, and government's risk investments. The plan introduces an institutional framework for civic participation for social problem-solving innovation, strengthening R&D program coordination and integration, and new innovation ecosystem formation. However, there is a need for a concrete program to overcome a path dependency of existing activities. Otherwise new institutions are likely to be formalized. In addition, in order to derive risk investment, it is necessary to integrate innovation policy with social policy fields such as community care and climate change. It is necessary to establish an policy process that combines the agenda of social policy beyond with R & D policy, and to forms a platform for problem solving, integrates various technologies, industries and resources.

Kepler's Scientific Problem Finding and the Abductive Reasoning in his Discovery of the Retinal Image Formation (Kepler의 망막 상 이론 형성 과정에서의 과학적 문제 발견과 귀추적 사고)

  • The aims of this study are to investigate how Kepler found a scientific problem for the retinal image theory and how abductive reasoning was used in his theory development, and to find implications for teaching creativity in science class from his thinking processes in the scientific discovery. Through the analysis of the related literatures, it was found that Kepler's problem finding in his retinal image theory came from the critical analysis of contemporary theories of vision, based on his relevant knowledge of optics, as he formulated his own hypothesis to build a new theory in eye vision employing optical phenomenon in spherical lens, which is a kind of abductive reasoning. From the results, three suggestions are proposed, that: (a) in the development of creativity teaching material, the situations like Kepler's problem finding need to be included in the programs; (b) it should be taught that relevant scientific knowledge is important for problem finding and hypothesis formulating; and (c) the experience of successful problem solving by themselves could help them find new scientific problem(s).

지식학습 능력을 갖는 전문가 시스템

  • 전문가 시스템 개발과정에서 완전한 경험적 규칙들을 얻는 것은 극히 어려운 작업이다. 전문가들이 확고한 경험적 규칙들을 얻기위해서는 오랜 시간이 걸리며, 그 얻어진 지식조차 확신할 수 없다. 또한 같은 분야 지식도 전문가들 사이에서 큰 차이를 보일 수 있다. 이러한 상황에서 전문가 시스템이 보다 완전한 지식베이스를 얻어, 주어진 영역에서 기존의 고도 전문가 수준의 전문성을 갖는 완전한 전문가로 활약하기 위해서는 지식 배제, 둘째 기존의 경험적 탐색 공간은 물론 보다 다양한 문제 해결 전략이 가능한 심층적 탐색공간을 제공하여 그로부터 새로운 문제 해결 지식을 학습하는 자기 학습기능이 필요하다. 본지에서는 이러한 자기학습 기능을 갖는 전문가 시스템의 알고리즘을 검토하였다. 그리고 끝으로 전력계통에 대한 적용예로서 전압제어 전문가 시스템을 설명하였다. 아직 전문가 시스템의 자기학습 기능의 구현은 초보적 연구에 머물고 있으며, 그들의 학습 능력조차 낮은 수준에 불과하다. 그러나 전문가 시스템 연구자들은 기존 전문가 시스템의 문제점과 그 적응능력의 중요성을 인식하고 있기 때문에 보다 진보된 개념(데이타들로부터 이론과 원리를 학습하는)이 도입된 자기학습 전문가 시스템의 적용연구는 앞으로 여러분야에서 폭넓게 이루어 질 것으로 기대된다.

Contextual Understanding of North Korea Nuclear Problem (북한 핵의 맥락적 이해)

  • This article aims for searching the clue of North Korea nuke-problem by understanding it contextually. We must see this from the beginning as many trials in settling the problem have failed. North Korea nuke-problem is related to the change of international implication as well as the domestic process of its development. At first, it started from the regime survival, which evolved with the effect of learning. During the Cold War, its development had combined the principle of 'self-defense' because of Sino-Russia conflict. Particularly, its meaning varied dramatically due to the collapse of Cold War system plus the advent of post-Cold War system. North Korea nuclear program has became a global problem based on the deterioration of North Korea's security milieu and Bush administration's policy. Therefore, the area of common solution for NK nuke-problem must be found in the context of regime survival and the change of its meaning by continual convergence effort.

An Investigation of the Factors that Influence the Compliance to Information Security Policy: From Risk Compensation Theory (정보보안 정책 준수에 영향을 미치는 요인: 위험보상이론 관점에서)

  • Information security has been a major concern in organizations. The longstanding question of how to improve employees security behaviors and reduce human errors remains unanswered and requires further exploration in the information security domain. To do this, we propose a risk compensation theory-based model and examine the model. Research results shows that the relationships between information security countermeasures and information security compliance intention of employees are moderated by system vulnerability. However, the finding is contrary to the previously held risk compensation assumption and deserve further study. In addition, system quality does not play a moderator role in the relationship. Conclusions and implications are discussed.

Approaches for Shared Use of South/North Korean Transboundary Rivers (남북한 공유하천의 공동이용을 위한 접근방법)

  • 남북 공유하천은 크게 임진강과 북한강으로 대별된다. 이중 임진강은 2000년을 기점으로 상호 협력방안이 모색되고 있다. 그러나 북한강수계에서는 북한이 유역변경을 위해 대댐을 건설하여 운영중에 있는 등 남북관계에 있어서 협력과 갈등이 공존하고 있는 상황이다. 국제공유하천에 있어 수자원 개발과 이용은 협력과 공평성에 기초하여야 한다. 그러나 갈등은 모든 국제하천이 가지고 있는 공통의 문제로 해결을 위한 대안마련에 많은 노력이 필요하다. 그럼에도 국 내외의 사례에서 볼 수 있듯이 예방적 조치들이 미약한 것이 현실이다. 남 북한 공유하천에서도 수자원 이용과 관련된 문제점은 계속되고 있다. 특히, 북한강 수계의 경우 상류유역을 점하고 있는 북한이 임남댐을 건설해 유역변경 수력발전을 함으로서 하류를 점하고 있는 남한지역에서는 하천관리 및 용수공급 등 지장을 받고 있다. 얼마 전에는 댐의 안정성 문제가 제기되어 국가안보 차원에서 문제를 다루어야 할 정도로 중대 사안이 되었다. 임진강 유역에서는 수해방지를 위한 남 북한간 협력체제의 토대가 마련되어 가고 있지만 황강댐의 유역변경 이 구체화될 경우 문제는 더욱 복잡해진다. 본 연구에서는 국제공유하천의 갈등해소 이론을 바탕으로 보다 현실적인 접근방법을 대안으로 제시하고자 하였다.

The Use of Analogy in Teaching and Learning Geography (효과적인 지리 교수.학습을 위한 유추의 이해와 활용)

  • Analogical thinking is a problem-solving strategy to use a familiar problem (or base analog) to solve a novel problem of the same type (the target problem). The purpose of this study is to provide new insight into geography teaching and learning by connecting cognitive science research on analogical thinking with issues of geography education and suggest that teaching with analogies can be a productive instructional strategy for geography. In this study, using the various examples of analogical thinking used in geography we defined analogical thinking, addressed the theoretical models on analogical transfer, and discussed conditions that make an effective analogical transfer. The major research findings include the following: a) the spatial analogy, indicating skills to find places that may be far apart but have similar locations, and therefore have other similar conditions and/or connections, can provide a useful way to design contents for place learning; b) representational transfer, specifying a common representation for two problems, can play a key role in solving geographic problems requiring data visualization and spatialization processes; and c) either asking learners to compare/analyze similar examples sharing common structure or providing them examples bridging the gap between concrete, real-life phenomena and the ideas and models can contribute to learning in geographic concepts and skills. The spatial analogy requiring both geographic content knowledge and visual/spatial thinking has the potential to become a content-specific problem-solving strategy. We ended with recommendations for future research on analogy that is important in geography education.

Learning Experience Study of Problem Based Learning on War history (문제중심학습(PBL) 경험연구 -군사학과 전쟁사 강좌 사례를 중심으로-)

  • Problem Based Learning(PBL) is one of effective teaching-learning strategy for enhancing military students' motivation, comparing with the other study method. After monitoring military student classes, we conclude that PBL can enhance the effectiveness of learning in War history case study education and finds merits; PBL assists students to play a more active role in the class, induces students to solve problems independently, and makes the learning military situation real case study. The case study is common in social sciences and life sciences. Case studies may be descriptive or explanatory. It is good for War history education. The demerit of PBL is a costly method as students should spend more time and institutions should provide more manpower and materials. This study suggests that more empirical researches on alternative teaching methods, including PBL, to a lecture in War history education.
