  • 디지털화의 가속, 고속 통신 인프라의 확대 등으로 전자, 정보 통신 기기들이 단일 네트워크로 연결되어 영상 및 음향 정보를 서로 공유할 수 있으며, 생활 공간 내에서 실생활의 질 향상을 위한 지능적 정보 서비스와 자연스럽고 편한 내추럴 인터페이스 기술에 의한 지능형 반응 정보 서비스 공간 기술이 중요한 이슈로 등장하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 지능형 반응 공간의 물리적 객체로서 학교, 연구 기관 및 회사 등의 회의실을 선정한다. 그리고, 이를 대상으로 회의 참여자들이 자연스럽고 편리하게 의견 교환, 관련 자료 및 정보 처리를 할 수 있는 시스템 구축을 위한 아키텍처에 대하여 논의한다. 본 연구에서 제안하는 시스템 아키텍처는 회의와 관련된 문서나 회의 내용 등의 정보를 실감 가시화 노드로 추상화되고 메타 정보화함으로써 전체 회의 내용의 파악과 회의 정보에 대한 체계적이고 논리적인 관리를 가능하게 한다. 또한 여러 사람의 공동 작업을 필요로 하는 정보 또는 문서에 대한 동시 편집 기능과 자연스러운 동작에 의한 데이터 조작을 지원하는 실감 워크벤치 및 워크스크린 기술, 정보 핸들링의 다양성과 조작의 편리성을 위한 실감 아이콘에 의하여 자연스럽고 편리한 회의를 가능하게 한다. 그리고, 이러한 요소 기술들이 에이전트에 의해 회의 프로세스 및 요소 기술들의 시스템적 통합을 가능하게 한다.

Hardware Design for JBIG2 Encoder on Embedded System (임베디드용 JBIG2 부호화기의 하드웨어 설계)

  • This paper proposes the hardware IP design of JBIG2 encoder. In order to facilitate the next generation FAX after the standardization of JBIG2, major modules of JBIG2 encoder are designed and implemented, such as symbol extraction module, Huffman coder, MMR coder, and MQ coder. ImpulseC Codeveloper and Xilinx ISE/EDK program are used for the synthesis of VHDL code. To minimize the memory usage, 128 lines of input image are processed succesively instead of total image. The synthesized IPs are downloaded to Virtex-4 FX60 FPGA on ML410 development board. The four synthesized IPs utilize 36.7% of total slice of FPGA. Using Active-HDL tool, the generated IPs were verified showing normal operation. Compared with the software operation using microblaze cpu on ML410 board, the synthesized IPs are better in operation time. The improvement ratio of operation time between the synthesized IP and software is 17 times in case of symbol extraction IP, and 10 times in Huffman coder IP. MMR coder IP shows 6 times faster and MQ coder IP shows 2.2 times faster than software only operation. The synthesized H/W IP and S/W module cooperated to succeed in compressing the CCITT standard document.

Identification of sports game highlights using live comments data (실시간 댓글 데이터를 이용한 스포츠 경기 하이라이트 식별)

  • In this paper, we propose a procedure for identifying sports game highlights using online live comments. Highlights in sports games can be defined as important events that capture the viewers' attention, often involving scoring. Internet portals and many other platforms may edit game videos and provide highlight scenes. Since reviewing each game and identifying highlights manually can be labor-intensive and time-consuming, statistical learning procedures are beneficial for the automatic identification of highlights. In this paper, we extract words from preprocessed live comments, and divide videos into one-minute intervals to create a document-term matrix summarizing the frequency of word occurrences at each timestamp. Next, employing the log-odds ratios as weights, the weighted sum of the term frequencies at each timestamp is calculated to generate an event score. Then, the nonparametric kernel regression model is applied to event scores to estimate the underlying trend of event scores. The residual for each timestamp is obtained as the difference between underlying trend and the actual event score. Finally, we predict events as those instances whose residuals are widely deviated from the estimated trend levels. Applying this approach to real soccer games, we could predict actual highlights more accurately compared to simply using comment frequencies.

Multimedia Information Retrieval Using Semantic Relevancy (의미적 연관성을 이용한 멀티미디어 정보 검색)

  • As the Web technologies and wired/wireless network are improved and various new multimedia services are introduced recently, need for searching multimedia including video data has been much increasing, The previous approaches for multimedia retrieval, however, do not make use of the relationships among semantic concepts contained in multimedia contents in an efficient way and provide only restricted search results, This paper proposes a multimedia retrieval system exploiting semantic relevancy of multimedia contents based on a domain ontology, We show the effectiveness of the proposed system by experiments on a prototype system we have developed. The proposed multimedia retrieval system can extend a given search keyword based on the relationships among the semantic concepts in the ontology and can find a wide range of multimedia contents having semantic relevancy to the input keyword. It also presents the results categorized by the semantic meaning and relevancy to the keyword derived from the ontology. Independency of domain ontology with respect to metadata on the multimedia contents is preserved in the proposed system architecture.

  • This paper discusses techniques for embedding data into 3D polygonal models of geometry. Much researches of Watermarking had been gone as element technology of DRM (digital rights management). But, few research had gone to 3D polygonal model. Most research is limited at text document, 2D image, animation, music etc. RP system is suitable a few production in various goods species, and it is used much in industry to possible reason that produce prototype and find error or incongruent factor at early stage on design in product development childhood. This paper is research about method that insert watermark in STL ( stereolithography) file that have 3D shape model. Proposed algorithm inserts watermark in normal vector region and facet's interior region of 3D shape data. For this reason, 3D shape does not produce some flexure and fulfill invisibility of watermark. Experiment results that insert and extract watermark in normal netter region and facet's Interior region of 3D shape data by proposed algorithm do not influence entirely in 3D shape and show that insertion and extraction of watermark are possible.

  • Over the past 20 years, brain science has developed rapidly thanks to new technologies such as functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), leading to more accurate knowledge of human nature and behavioral changes. This knowledge is also actively applied in the field of management. This research aimed to gain insights into how neuroscience can be incorporated into management through the case of Midas IT Co. This construction software company has a separate organization with the purpose of studying brain science, and it makes and implements human resource management policies based on brain science. The founder Lee Hyung-woo has a humanist management philosophy, and the company's brain science research supports that philosophy. The case study method was adopted as the research method, and procedures such as interviews and direct observation, participation observation, and document information were carried out. The company's human resource management system can be explained by a brain science model called "SCARF", which combines various neuroscience discoveries. As this model suggests, the company has improved the trust and satisfaction of its members by reducing threat of status and by increasing certainty, autonomy, relationship, and fairness in the workplace, resulting in the creation of a platform for creativity, integrity, and high performance.

A Study on the Improvement of Retrieval Efficiency Based on the CRFMD (공통기술표현포맷에 기반한 다매체자료의 검색효율 향상에 관한 연구)

  • In recent years, theories of image and sound analysis have been proposed to work with text retrieval systems and have progressed quickly with the rapid progress in data processing speeds. This study proposes a common representation format for multimedia documents (CRFMD) composed of both images and text to form a single data structure. It also shows that image classification of a given test set is dramatically improved when text features are encoded together with image features. CRFMD might be applicable to other areas of multimedia document retrieval and processing, such as medical image retrieval, World Wide Web searching, and museum collection retrieval.

Design and Implementation of a Browser for Educational PDA Contents (교육용 PDA 컨텐츠 브라우저의 설계 및 구현)

  • Recently various electronic books (I-Book) based on PDA (personal digital assistance) that we can easily use anytime and anywhere have been developed. Volume and weight of the E-Book is much less than that of traditional books. In that reason, it is easy to carry and serve us with contents by diverse functions such as searching, bookmark, dictionary, and playing of color image, sound or moving picture. On account of these advantages, many products connected with I-Book have been emerged in the market. However a product connected with educational contents is scarce, because it requires not only normal function but also additional functions such as a problem solving. Therefore it is actually necessary to develop a browser and an editor for educational contents. In this paper, we express educational contents by XML and define structure of document with XML schema. Then, we design and implement an editor and a browser that can manage educational contents on PDA.

Design of an Efficient FTL Algorithm for Flash Memory Accesses Using Sector-level Mapping (섹터 매핑 기법을 적용한 효율적인 FTL 알고리듬 설계)

  • This paper proposes a novel FTL (Flash Translation Layer) algorithm based on sector-level mapping to reduce the number of total erase operations in flash memory accesses. The proposed algorithm can reduce the number of erase operations by utilizing the sector-level mapping table when writing data at flash memory. Sector-level mapping technique reduces flash memory access time and extendsthe life time of the flash memory. In the algorithm, wear-leveling is implemented by selecting victim blocks having the minimal number of erase operations, when empty spaces for write are not available. To evaluate the performance of the proposed FTL algorithm, experiments were performed on several applications, such as MP3 players, MPEG players, web browsers and document editors. The proposed algorithm reduces the number of erase operations by 72.4% and 61.9%, when compared with well-known BAST and FAST algorithms, respectively.

A Key Exchange Protocol based on the Steganography with the QR code (스테가노그라피 기법이 적용된 QR코드 이미지 기반의 키 교환 프로토콜)

  • The traditional key exchange protocols are transmitted by using the cryptographic. However, these protocols are compromised by the attacker. To solve this problem, this paper proposes a key exchange protocol based on the steganography with the QR code. The steganography technique embed secret information to the images, documents, videos, and MP3 files and transmit to the others. The attacker can't know that the transmission data is the secret data. Therefore, the sender transmits efficiently and safely the secret data to the others. In additional, the cover image is using the QR code image to insert the secret key. If attackers scan the QR code, then they just read the information or connect URL. They can not be recognized that the QR code image is hiding the secret key. The experiments compare the QR code image with the well-known image about the distortion and the safety.
