Recognition of Various Printed Hangul Images by using the Boundary Tracing Technique (경계선 기울기 방법을 이용한 다양한 인쇄체 한글의 인식)

  • 본 논문에서는 CCD 흑백 카메라를 이용하여 입력되는 인쇄체 한글 이미지의 문자를 인식하여 편집 가능한 텍스트 문서로 변환하는 시스템을 구현하였다. 문자 인식에 있어서 잡음에 강한 경계선 기울기 방법을 이용함으로써 문자의 구조적 특성에 근거한 윤곽선 정보를 추출할 수 있었다. 이를 이용하여 각 문자 이미지의 수평 및 수직 모음을 인지하고 6가지 유형으로 분류한 후, 자소 단위로 분리하고 최대 길이투영을 사용하여 모음을 인식하였다 분리된 자음은 경계선이 변화되는 위상의 형태를 미리 저장된 표준패턴과 비교하여 인식하였다. 인식된 문자는 KS 한글 완성형 코드로 문서 편집기에 출력되어 사용자에 제공되는 시스템을 구현하였다.

  • 최근 컴퓨팅 환경의 동향은 사람과 컴퓨터간의 좀더 자연스러운 인터페이스와 사용자의 눈에 보이지 않는 하드웨어의 계발이다. 디지털 데스크는 이 두 아이디어가 결합된 컴퓨팅 환경의 대표적인 예이다. 즉, 디지털 데스크에서 아무 장치도 하지 않은 사용자의 fingertip을 컴퓨터의 입력 장치로 사용하는 것이다. 본 논문은 디지털 데스크에서 사용자 fingertip의 이동경로를 추출하고, 추출된 이동경로로 symbolic gesture를 인식하는 방법을 제안한다. 제안된 방법은 Fingertip tracker, Gesture mode selector, 그리고 Symbolic gesture recognizer 세 개의 모듈로 구성된다. Fingertip tracker는 카메라로부터 입력되는 영상에서 사용자 fingertip의 이동경로를 추출하고, Gesture mode selector는 추출한 fingertip의 이동경로가 symbolic gesture인지를 구분한다. Symbolic gesture recognizer는 추출된 fingertip의 이동경로로 symbolic gesture를 인식한다. 이 방법을 문서교정 부호를 인식하여 전자문서를 교정하는 시스템에 적용해 본 결과 좋은 인식 결과를 얻을 수 있었다.

  • 현재 PC환경 뿐만 아니라 모바일 환경, 임베디드 환경에서 딥러닝 모델을 구동하기 위한 많은 연구들이 진행 중에 있다. 본 연구에서는 완성된 딥러닝 모델을 구동하는 환경을 Java로 구현하여 개발 접근성을 높이고자 한다. 이미지, 영상처리를 위해 OpenCV를 사용시 C++ API문서는 보편화되어있는 반면에 JavaCv API 문서는 그렇지 못하다. 그러나 모바일 개발 환경 특성상 Java언어로 작업한 코드를 안드로이드 스튜디오에서 작업 시 그대로 가져올 수 있어 개발이 용이하다. 모델 구동을 위한 전반적인 이미지 처리 및 작업환경을 개발하였다.

Human Friendly Recognition and Editing Support System of Korean Language (인간에게 친밀한 한글 인식 및 편집 지원시스템)

  • In this paper we realized a system, if a user selects the area of the important parts or the arrangement parts when he reads the books or the papers, which amends, stores and readjusts the characters that are included in the selected area by outputting the characters to the word processor in sequence. If a user selects what he wishes lot with his finger, the system detects the movement of the finger by applying the hand recognition algorithm and recognizes the selected area. The system converts the distance of the width and the length of the selected area to the number of the pulse, and controls the motor to move the camera at the position. After the system scales up/down the zoom to be able to recognize the character and controls the focus to the regulated zoom closely, it controls the focus in detail to get more distinct image by using the difference of the light and darkness. We realize the recognition and editing support system of korean language that converts the obtained images to the document by applying the character recognition algorithm and arrange the important parts.

  • This paper casts an application of an extended fuzzy integral on the selective extraction of color clusters characterized by a particular color hue from color document images. Despite of the negative role of fuzzy integral, the presented approach attains the detection of the seals through the neighborhood information via the center of area method. The conventional fuzzy integral evaluates the negative aspects of the importance about the items by min operator, which result in the discontinuous parts of seals. In an attempt to cope with the drawback our approach considers the integral aspects via the center of area method, which results in the robustness of the images. Finally, the framework is successfully tested on a data set formed by documents from a real application for the detection.

  • Image authentication algorithms have to discriminate forged contents in the various critical fields of military, medical services, digital documents. They must ensure perceptual invisibility and fragility against malicious attacks. It is desirable that watermarking algorithms support sufficient insertion capacity and blind feature. And, high reliable algorithms that can eliminate false-positive and false-negative errors are needed in the watermark extraction process. In this paper, we control coefficients of high frequency band in a DCT domain and compensate brightness histogram for high reliability. As a result, we found that the proposed algorithm guarantee various requirements such as perceptual invisibility with high PSNR values, fragility, high reliability and blind feature. In addition, experiment results show that the proposed algorithm can be used steganographic applications by sufficient capacity of watermark.

  • Ant Colony System(ACS) is easily applicable to the traveling salesman problem(TSP) and it has demonstrated good performance on TSP. Recently, ACS has been emerged as the useful tool for the pattern recognition, feature extraction, and edge detection. The edge detection is wifely utilized in the area of document analysis, character recognition, and face recognition. However, the conventional operator-based edge detection approaches require additional postprocessing steps for the application. In the present study, in order to overcome this shortcoming, we have proposed the new ACS-based edge detection algorithm. The experimental results indicate that this proposed algorithm has the excellent performance in terms of robustness and flexibility.

  • Image segmentation is the basic step in the field of the image processing for pattern recognition, environment recognition, and context analysis. The Otsu's automatic threshold selection, which determines the optimal threshold value to maximize the between class scatter using the distribution information of the normalized histogram of a image, is the famous method among the various image segmentation methods. For the automatic threshold selection proposed by Otsu, it is difficult to determine the optimal threshold value by considering the sub-region characteristic of the image because the Otsu's algorithm analyzes the global histogram of a image. In this paper, to alleviate this difficulty of Otsu's image segmentation algorithm and to improve image segmentation capability, the original image is divided into several sub-images by using context fuzzy c-means algorithm. The proposed fuzzy Otsu threshold algorithm is applied to the divided sub-images and the several threshold values are obtained.

  • Binary images, such as cartoon character images, text images and signature images, which consist of two values with black and white have more difficulties inserting imperceptible secret data than color images. Steganography using binary cover images is not easy to satisfy requirements for both the imperceptibility of stego images and a high embedding rate of secret data at the same time. In this paper, we propose a scheme that can get both the high quality of stego images and a high embedding rate by supplementing the advantages of previous research. In addition, the insertion of the proposed method changes only existing pixels of the imperceptible position and can embed the secret data of [$log_2(mn+1)-2$] bits in a block with size of $m{\times}n$.
