  • Characteristics of electrodelss lamp as a load of the ballast is different compared to normal fluorescent lamp because the lamp includes the magnetics for inductive discharging process. So somewhat different modeling is necessary to make a proper power match between the lamp and ballast. Modeling of an electrodeless lamps, Endura of Osram, is presented in this paper. Simulation with a result of experiment is given for a verification of proposed model.

  • An electric power efficiency of electrodeless fluorescent lamp depens on a big relative property of gas, gas pressure, lamp formation, ingredients of magnetic substance and shape and action frequency etc. in lamp. We used magnetic substance that opens self-examination material of electrodeless fluorescent lamp antenna. We used Mn-Zn type as the Ferrite. We have examined resistance, impedance and Q-factor's frequency characteristic by ferrite. Coil turns were changed from 13 to 15 turns to recognize brightness change of lamp by winding number. Optical equipment (LS-100) was used to measure brightness. We could know Q-factor's difference according to material is important part of antenna design. When an electrodeless fluorescent lamp was made using T company's PE22, it showed the highest brightness. As number of winding is increased the brightness increased, and starting characteristic became good.

  • In recent year there have been several developments in lamp technology that promise savings in electrical power consumption and improved quality of the lighting space. Above all, the advantage of Electrodeless fluorescent lamp is the removal of internal electrodes and heating filaments that are a light-limiting factor of conventional fluorescent lamps. Therefore, the life of Electrodeless fluorescent lamps is substantially higher than that of conventional fluorescent lamps and last up to 100,000 hours. In this paper, the Electromagnetic emitting properties were presented by simulation software operated at 2.65MHz and some specific conditions.

  • Recently, the environmental problem has received considerable attention. so, many lamps have been developing for environmental requirement and energy efficiency, also, at glow discharge lamp researchers try to reduce energy spending that is power saving lamp. this kind requirement agree with strong points of electrodeless fluorescent lamp has received to now lighting sauce. In this paper, at the research and development of Electrodeless Fluorescent Lamp phase, according to ferrite C.F.D(Computational Fluid Dynamics) Simulation and lamp brightness character are measured to find optimization design requirements of RF antenna which is impotent for emission of lamp.

  • This paper presents a wired and wireless linked remote control system. Ethernet based network communication is used for long distance management and 2.4GHz RF network is adopted for the local area communication between the main network and the ballast. For the effective remote control and management including dimming using wired and wireless linked digital communication networks, control circuit of the ballast is implemented with fully digital circuit using MCU and EPLD. In this paper, the proper frame structure is proposed for the digital-remote lighting-control system and the detailed system configurations including fully digital controlled ballast for the induction lamp are described.

  • This paper gives a comparative analysis on lifetime of the fluorescent induction lamp. We have treasured and analysed optical characteristics of circular type fluorescent induction lamps, which has A and B types, to estimate lifetime. In the result of analysis on lifetime, $B_{10}$ lifetime of A and B type lamps are 466 hours and 1,595 hours, respectively.

  • This paper presents a study on the dimming control of electrodeless fluorescent lamp. To do this the equivalent model of electrodeless fluorescent lamp (ENDURA 100w Type) was first established. The resulted model of the lamp was applied to the two kinds of dimming control method, one is the variable switching frequency method and the other is the variable dc link voltage method. And the comparison results of the dimming characteristics between the two methods was presented. Theoretical predictions were verified by the experimental results on the ENDURA 100W type electrodeless fluorescent lame.

  • In this study, several experiment is executed to analyze properties of Electrodeless Discharge Lamp using H-Discharge. 1. The operating frequency of this lamp is $2.45{\sim}2.65$[MHz] 2. The color of light is mild-white. And, it is shifted in the direction of red in low temperature. 3. In ambient temperature under $10^{\circ}C$, luminous efficiency is decreased precipitously. Therefore, research for improvement discharge-characteristic in low temperature need. 4. Discharge-characteristic stable between $160{\sim}240$[V]. And, luminous output is inverse proportion to coil-voltage. 5. When input-voltage is decreased continuously unstable section exist.

  • The electrodeless lamp is intended as a high efficacy replacement for the incandescent reflector lamp in many applications. but Increasing awareness of electromagnetic compatibility(EMC) issues in lighting application, the problems of interference generation by electrodeless fluorescent lighting system have been highlighted. In this paper, Maxwell 2D finite element analysis program(ansoft) is used to obtain electromagnetic properties associated with the coil and nearby structures. and also evaluated Flux, B, H, by changing the input current.
