  • USB는 사용의 편리성, 넓은 확장성을 기반으로 PC 역사상 가장 성공적인 접속 장치로서, 현재까지 20억 개 이상이 사용되고 있고, USB가 장착된 장치의 종류 및 사용 개수도 빠르게 증가하는 추세이다. 이와 같은 USB의 발전에 힘입어 유선의 속도와 보안성에 무선의 편리함을 추가한 무선 USB 1.0 규격이 2005년 5월 발표되었으며, 상용 제품도 속속 출시되고 있다. 본 고는 유선 USB 2.0 기술에 기반하고 무선 매체로서UWB를 이용하는 무선 USB의 기술 및 표준화 동향에 대하여 소개하고, 무선 USB 기술의 특징 및 국내외 연구 동향에 대하여 살펴보고자 한다.

  • It's for USB to be used more frequently than another I/O devices. The Universal Serial Bus is the most successful interface in PC history. It's already the do facto interconnect for PCs, and has proliferated into consumer electronics(CE) and mobile devices as well. USB has built on many killer applications, many CE devices, many interfaces. The tangle of wires among the number of devices in your home demands wireless technology. If our devices is unwired, it solves the tangle of wires. In this paper we want to use Legacy USB functionalities, portabilities, multimedia capabilities with wireless interconnection. This paper is related to a study of USB implementation without wires. This paper is related to make the hub function of USB cordless, so it will connect host with devices without wires. In case making USB wireless, it must support the above functionalities. Moreover, It needs the data structure and the resources for host functionalities, e.g. ETD(Endpoint Transfer Descriptor), data memory. This will benefit a convenient use of USB.

  • Wireless universal serial bus (WUSB) is the USB technology merged with WiMedia PHY/MAC. WUSB can be applied to wireless persanal area network (WPAN) applications as well as PAN applications like wired USB. Because numerous WUSB networks operate independently for each application, data conflict can occur between adjacent networks. To avoid data conflict, the resource in a different time zone can be utilized. However, if devices in a network increase, available resources in the network decrease, and then the lack of resources necessary to provide service can occur. To solve this problem, we propose interference avoidance scheme for WUSB systems.

  • 본 논문은 UWB 기술 기반 무선 USB(WUSB) 프로토콜에서, 디바이스들의 이동성으로 인해 발생하는 Private Distributed Reservation Protocol (DRP) 예약 충돌 현상을 분석한다. 그리고 Private DRP 예약 충돌 시 발생하는 성능 저하를 감소시키기 위해 Private DRP 충돌 회피 방식을 제안한다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 Private DRP 충돌 회피 프로토콜은 DRD (Dual Role Device)를 이용하여 3홉 범위의 디바이스들의 이동으로 인한 충돌을 방지하는 기법을 제안한다.

  • In this paper, a resource management scheme for enhancing the network connectivity and reliability in wireless USB system is proposed. Wireless USB protocol is suitable for the application that supports the real-time multimedia service in Ship Area Network since it supports high speed data transfer. However, the device's mobility is caused the dramatic change of link state and network topology, and is occurred the degradation of network performance. Therefore, a resource management scheme for wireless USB system is proposed in this paper. The proposed technique can intelligently treat the change of link state, and solve the degradation of network performance. The simulation results show that proposed protocol can enhance the throughput and delay performance by selecting relay device with better link state.

  • The existing USB connection type of the clip-type pulsmeter equipped with a Hall sensor and a permanent magnet does not have any error or malfunction to measure the pulse wave. The property of the wireless networking system communicating the pulse wave data through the wireless LAN communication by combination USB with Ethernet and Ethernet to Wi-Fi converting system instead of existing USB connection method was investigated. There are exited that the patient needs to stay at close site of the desktop PC without USB connector and the wireless transfer and receiver networking system has pulse wave measurement SW to receive the pulse wave data. Thus it is expected that the study becomes helpful to measure and transfer the exact pulse wave of the patient in a comfortable pose at close range.

  • Recently, the emergence of various terminal devices increases desire for information exchanges. USB technology is the one of useful devices which is used for connection between them. Especially, it has been introduced some technologies that are able to convergence between UWB wireless technologies and USB transmission technologies. In this paper, we designed and implemented the way to extension virtually desktop computing environment by using USB transfer technology. It leads virtual desktop environment that was able to extend up to 8 units by using USB to VGA/HDMI adapter. And we can control quality of services and signal by USB transfer software.

  • In this Paper, we propose an energy efficient localization technique based on WUSB (Wireless USB) over WBAN (Wireless Body Area Networks) protocol required for Wearable Computer systems. For this purpose, the proposed localization algorithm minimizes power consumption and estimates location without range information. It is executed independently on the basis of WUSB over WBAN protocol at each sensor node comprising peripherals of a wearable computer system. And it minimizes power consumption by estimating locations of sensor nodes with range-free method fast.
