Design and Implementation of Mobile Web Map Service (모바일을 위한 웹지도 서비스의 설계 및 구현)

  • Recently, many WMS(Web Map Services) and POI(Point of Interest) services come to be in service on the Internet using Web GIS(Geographic Information System) as Information Technology and computer H/W are evolved faster in its speed, network bandwidth and features. The Web GIS is, however, limited and constrained on the specification of its system configuration, the service class provided and the presentation methodology of a map. As the mobile Internet becomes popular in mobile service, Web GIS service on mobile environment is strongly required and to be provided by location based WMS(Web Map Service) on a mobile client such as PDA with location information of the user. In this paper, we made an effort to design and implement a GIS computing environment by thin client for mobile web map service. For implementing the thin client GIS computing environment. we were using NGII's(National Geographic Information Institute's) DXF map, representing the map by SVG(Scalable Vector Graphics) recommended by OGC(OpenGis Consortium), and adapting standard XML web service to provide the thin client GIS service on PDA by applying the location information of the user in realtime with GPS on mobile environment.

  • As the hospital environment has been increasingly changed into a ubiquitous environment, the application services for the hospital environment are also faced with new requirements. In particular, the emergence of various mobile devices and the introduction of a wireless sensor network technology have accelerated the realization of the u-healthcare. The multi-agent paradigm has been introduced for satisfying both the integration of information and the various application scenarios established from various environments. This paper describes the software structure and u-applications for u-hospital information system based on ubiquitous environments. And it suggested the construction of a multi agent based distributed framework for supporting u-hospital information system. The suggested framework includes the JADE and distributed object group framework. And it implemented u-application services for supporting doctors and nurses, which provides the patient's health information and ward environment information. Especially, it is using a dynamic security mechanism on the security situation, which has not been emphasized in existing researches, and this paper shows the results for each user through the GUI.

  • Since the emergence of the smartphone and tablet PC whose wireless internet accessibility has improved, personal computing environment has shifted from PCs to mobile web based mobile devices, and therefore the use of information and the communication method have been changing rapidly. Under the circumstance, domestic universities have actively been establishing mobile websites for smartphone users. Such mobile websites, however, focused on diverse functions and a showy design rather than on usability or accessibility, and were developed simply for the purpose of public relations. For this reason, students are now faced with difficulties in using the websites. Therefore, this paper proposes a novel web interface with the consideration of usability and accessibility in order for users to easily use and assess proper information. The matters to be taken into account in developing a mobile website are an intuitive interface design, user experiences, a user customized interface and compliance with web standards.

An Energy Efficient Data-Centric Probing Priority Determination Method for Mobile Sinks in Wireless Sensor Networks (무선 센서 네트워크에서 에너지 효율을 고려한 모바일 싱크의 데이터 중심 탐색 우선순위결정 기법)

  • Many methods have been researched to prolong sensor network lifetime using mobile technologies. In the mobile sink research, there are the track based methods and the anchor points based methods as representative operation methods for mobile sinks. However, the existing methods decrease Quality of Service (QoS) and lead the routing hotspot in the vicinity of the mobile sink. The reason is that they use static mobile paths that are not concerned about the network environments such as the query position and the data priority. In this paper, we propose the novel mobile sink operation method that solves the problems of the existing methods. In our method, the probing priority of the mobile sink is determined with the data priorities for increasing the QoS and the mobile features are used for reducing the routing hotspot. The experimental results show that the proposed method reduces query response time and improves network lifetime over the existing methods.

  • The paper presents a framework for developing real-time multi-user board games and applications in augmented reality. Recently, increase the environment to playing game in augmented reality with advancement of computing ability improvement and wireless networking technique of mobile device. While the trend of utilizing this kind of games is creasing, the facts that there is a shortage of games whose contents are attractive to users. In this paper we propose a framework that enables game content developers to develop new game contents base on augmented reality easily and quickly. This framework is an automatic service that can augment in various methods by using the supported marker recognition service. Therefore game contents developers do not need to know about either augmented reality technique or the inner process structure. The framework also supports special functions and various interaction interfaces for augmented reality board game and components of the board game we can implement. These enable developers to accomplish all the necessary components and structures of the board game more easily.

  • Computer performance and the development of computer appliances of today have adopted a new shape of concept, "ubiquitous computing." Thus, users can readily obtain access to abundant information as they can utilize the wireless network taking advantage of the ubiquitous concept, which allows usage inhibited by neither time nor location. In this process, the supply and feedback of information tends to be made real in the form of "interactive agent". This interactive agent with the application of artificial intelligence can enhance the reliability of information using friendly characters, and is used as a tool to grasp the intention! and behavior patterns of the users. This paper will take a look at the concept and the definition of the intelligent agent with "added characteristic", and furthermore investigate the potential and the scope of its development analyzing its features and comparing the examples of the domestic market that pursues to generate profits with it.

  • Tn these server oriented network forms, users allowed to approach the a certain server only in slave and passive way, and are limited in sharing informations, and internet choose from a method of traditional centralized web server until now, so we pay a lot of money and have a problem of maintenance management. The P2P is the new solution of these limitations, but there is no verification about the possibility and validity of p2p as the business model. This parer offering to some solution for those problems using the JXTA technique and P2P compution. We will apply the JXTA platform that wireless environment as mobile environment. The JXTA technique can be interoperability between third-party. This paper is implementation of P2P communication system on mobile environment. It's implementation used by JXTA technique, J2ME and XML.

  • Recently, wireless communication technology and state of art miniaturization has enabled the wireless sensor network with Smart Environmental sensors. The sensor network is a new field which has been researched vigorously in the ubiquitous computing and Ad-hoc network. How to efficiently use the limited energy in this USN(Ubiquitous sensor Networks) has been debated recently. We utilized the Directed Diffusion and Gossiping concept which is based on the Large scale Glass greenhouse and present a method to prolong the lifespan of the sensor network by operating variable time based this routing information on the average energy leftover. In this paper, we present a method to minimize the energy consumption of sensor node within Glass greenhouses and ensure a stable network operation at the same time through energy efficient routing among sensor nodes.

  • Numerous researches on network self-configuration have been conducted on Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) and Ad Hoc network but the results have not been applied yet for factory automation. This paper presents development of intelligent process management systems conducting process monitoring and control irrelevant to physical position of a plant operator. The systems are indispensable for diagnosis of rotating machines which cannot exploit wired network. The system was implemented in a Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) using Bluetooth communication protocol. When a mobile terminal reaches to communication range of the process management server, the server detects the mobile terminal to reconfigure plant network automatically. The server authenticates a user of the terminal to download and installs monitoring and control program considering authorized level of the user. If the terminal leaves communication range of the server, it deletes the node from the network and removes the program automatically to save resources and prevent security problems such as missing terminal. Operation of developed functions was verified in a testbed emulating steel-making plant.

  • In sensor network environments, a sensor node has a limited power because of their resource constraints. Therefore it is important to efficiently use its power in sensor networks. Power consumption of sensor node is closely related to its amount of transmission data. So, we need to reduce the transmission data in order to minimize the power consumption. And sensor networks are inherently unreliable because radio transmission can fail, node can move, and so on. In this paper, we propose the reliable data aggregation protocol in order to these problems. This protocol performs the routing and the query inserting process at the same time to minimize the packet loss caused by network changes. And, this protocol removes the unnecessary routing caused by the periodic routing without query. Additionally, we suggest the countermeasure algorithm against the frequent errors in sensor networks.
