  • In this paper, we analysed the standardized techniques for radio frequency identification systems. RFID system is to carry data in suitable transponders, generally known as tags, and to retrieve data, by machinable means, at a suitable time and place to satisfy particular application needs. The paper has discussed on international standardization trends and its techniques and provided with understanding the technical regulations for activating and harmonizing internationally domestic RFID industries.

  • IMT-2000은 유선통신 시장에서 확고히 자리잡은 인터넷 서비스와 멀티미디어 고속 데이터정보를 무선으로 공급하고자 하는 사용자의 요구를 충족시키기 위해 등장하였다. 그러나 이러한 서비스는 무선망을 통하여 제공되기 때문에 그 특성상 전송로가 노출되어 있어 허가반지 않은 사용자에 의한 불법적인 절취사용과 악의를 가진 제3자가 공유된 전송매체를 통해 전파를 도청하기 쉽다는 문제점을 가지고 있다 따라서 이동 무선 환경에서의 보안과 인증문제는 필수적인 사항이라고 할 수 있다. 이를 위해 본 논문에서는 기존의 인증 방식을 분석하고 사용자의 식별을 위한 쌍방향 인증 프로토콜을 설계하고 그 효율성을 분석하였다.

  • IMT-2000은 유선통신 시장에서 확고히 자리잡은 인터넷 서비스와 멀티미디어 고속 데이터 정보를 무선으로 공급하고자 하는 사용자의 요구를 충족시키기 위해 등장하였다. 그러나 이러한 서비스는 무선망을 통하여 제공되기 때문에 무선망의 특성상 전송로가 노출되어 허가 받지 않은 사용자에 의한 불법적인 절취사용과 공유된 전송매체를 통한 전파의 도청 등의 문제점을 가지고 있다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해 본 논문에서는 IMT-2000에서 사용자 식별을 위한 쌍방향 인증 프로토콜을 설계하고 그 성능을 평가하였다.

  • Recent wireless communications using the unlicensed band have been on the rise and the range of use is increasing. The license-exempted band is a prerequisite for accepting interference between telecommunication equipment. In particular, the interference phenomenon of Bluetooth, wireless LAN, and RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) using the 2.4 GHz band is getting serious. In such urban areas, the wireless transmission medium may be in a bad state. There are roughly two ways to make effective transmission in this environment. The first is the IEEE 802.11 RTS / CTS method and the second is the frame fragmentation method. In this paper, it is difficult to transmit a frame over a certain size in a jamming environment due to the interference of the wireless environment. In this environment, we implement a frame division transmission scheme that guarantees effective transmission and reliability by dividing a frame into smaller units in order to perform reliability transmission and efficient transmission.

Development of Personal Hand-held Electronic Devices for Marine Leisure Safety (해양레저 안전을 위한 개인 휴대용 전자장치 개발)

  • This paper describes two kinds of personal hand-held electronic devices to enhance marine leisure safety. The one is Radar response-type safety device triggering by the pulse signal from a commercial 9GHz-band Radar to provide quick search and rescue with combined civilian-government-military fleets. The other one is M-RFID (Marine Radio Frequency IDentification) based safety electronic device using 900MHz Tx/Rx with spread spectrum frequency hopping and GPS. Through the field tests at sea using Korea Coast Guard's warship the operating performances are verified. Further plan for practical use of each device was also discussed.

  • RFID(Radio Frequency Identification) is used to describe a system that transmits the identity of an object or person wirelessly using radio waves. RFID is recognized as a key technology of USN(Ubiquitous Sensor Network). ISO/IEC JTC1 and EPCglobal are developing RFID related standards for global supply chain management. RFID is an important solution not only for the supply chain management, but also for USN and future services. Recently, mobile RFID which provide various services using RFID reader in mobile phone, is being standardized in Korea. In this paper, we analyze trends of RFID standardization activities in ISO/IEC JTC1 and EPCglobal and mobile RFID, and propose an convergence scenario of IPv6 and RFID.

  • In this paper, we analysed the technical characteristics of a universal shipborne automatic identification system using self-organizing time division multiple access in the VHF marine mobile band. IMO's Marine Safety Committee approved revision of chapter V of the Safety of Life at Sea(SOLAS) Convention in 73rd meeting. According to this revision, AIS will become a nandatary carriage requirement by 01 July 2002. AIS is a broadcast system, operating in the VHF marine band. It is capable of sending infomation such as would be beneficial to the safety of navigation and the identification and monitoring of maritime traffic. It is absolutely necessary to analyse the related international and domestic specifications for the AIS implementation and installation.

  • The theoretical propagation modes of radio waves in the area of Line of Sight(LOS) within Fresnel zone are searched for the available detection ranges in a Marine RFID (Radio Frequency Identification). The structural LOS model to Earth's curvature is proposed and, the calculation method of horizontal distance in a specific radio frequency is also considered in this work As studying results, it is found that the height of antenna to cover the detection ranges and the influences of detection ranges by weather environments can be analyse with the theoretical methods.

  • Mother ship must be able to know accident occurrence information rapidly to rescue crew who fall in sea. In this paper, designed and manufactured transceiver of prescribed 447 MHz is operating as low power radio station specified in Radio Regulation. So, it is available without special permission proceedings getting form probation so that the use of this system may be easy. the system has been started for operation when the sensor get in touch with water. The system transmits with modulation by 500Hz square wave, and the receiver alarms when the transmitted signal is received. Therefore, the system can be used for not only saving a life, but also for low speed of data transmission below 2,400 bps, and other purposes.

  • 이 논문은 건물 및 상점, 도로표지판 등에 부착된 RFID 태그를 이용하여 위치정보를 획득하는 방법과, 이를 이용하여 위치기반 서비스를 실시할 수 있는 응용 시스템 및 이의 방법을 기술하고 있다. 기존의 GPS를 이용한 위치 정보는 신호를 보내는 인공위성의 지리적 변화에 의하여 정확도가 떨어지거나 전파 인터페이스 문제로 인하여 잘못된 위치정보를 주는 경우가 있다. 그러므로, 이 논문은 RFID 등에 위치정보를 식별할 수 있는 위치정보 식별자를 적용할 것을 제안한다. 이 것은 기존의 GPS 및 무선 네트워크를 사용할 때 발생할 수 있는 상기에 서술된 문제점을 해결하고, 태그를 통해 즉각적인 위치정보의 획득이 가능해 짐으로서 현재 이동통신사에서 제공하고 있는 위치정보 게이트웨이 접근에 대한 비용을 지불하지 않는 장점이 있다.
