WLL(Wireless Local Loop)은 흔히 '무선가입자망'으로 불린다. 수년 전 국내에서도 잠깐 반짝 등장했다가 업체들 개발노력만 헛되이 사장시킨 서비스이기도 하다. 교환기에서 가입자 단말까지를 무선으로 연결하는 방식의 이 서비스는 흔히 유선(PSTN 등)보다 저렴하게 구축할 수 있어 개도국 등 통신환경이 미비한 지역에서 선호된다. 이 때문에 '틈새시장용'이란 수식어도 따른다. 주류는 아니라는 것.

In this paper, we have proposed and evaluated the performance of the routiong protocols servicing the mobile and fixed subscribers in a large e scale circuit switched telecommunication network, connected by gateways. The large scale network consists of several subnetworks, and a subnetwork is composed of $M{\times}N$ nodes in grid topology. When a call for mobile subscriber occurs, the current routing protocols search the whole large scale network to find a mobile subscriber. Therefore, it causes many redundant packets and long call setup delay. So, we have proposed a new routing protocol, in which the destination subscriber is first searched at the subnetwork where the call is proposed protocol is better than that of the current protocol.

정보통신서비스의 멀티미디어화, 실시간화가 보편적 요구조건으로 자리잡으면서 인프라의 광대역화, 고속화가 당면 과제로 되고 있다. 현존하는 가입자망이 집선 혹은 다중화 기능을 이용한 페어게인 시스템을 기반으로 하고 있으나, 규제완화와 정보통신서비스 고도화에 의해 새로운 가입자망의 탄생이 예고되고 있다. 이에 따라 기존 동선을 사용하여 전송 대역을 확장하는 xDSL(x Digital Subscriber Line)기술, 광케이블을 사용하여 광대역 전송능력을 지원할 뿐 아니라 가입자 배선능력을 획기적으로 개선하는 FTTx(Fiber To The x)기술, 광대역 전송 능력을 지원하는 광휘더와 배선 순기비용을 원천적으로 삭감시키는 무선 배선을 결합하여 새로운 비지니스 기회를 제공하는 HFR(Hybrid Fiber Radio)기술, 댁내 배선상의 병목을 제거하기 위한 WHAN(Wireless Home Area NetWork) 기술등이 가입자 접속능력을 초고속화하기 위한 기반이 될 것으로 예상된다. 본고에서는 정보통신서비스의 발전이 가입자 접속방식과 가입자망의 구성방식에 미치는 영향을 분석하고, 초고속 가입자 접속 기술의 전개 방향과 가입자망의 진화 전망을 기술한다.

This paper describes problems when visited ISP subscriber gets dynamic IP address in home ISP for wireless internet service on GPRS network. We propose a specific DHCP relay for wireless internet service of visited ISP subscriber on GPRS network. We designed and implemented the specific DHCP relay and installed it in ISP testbed. We show the allocated dynamic IP address using specific DHCP relay for visited ISP subscriber on GPRS network. Now we think it is possible the visited ISP subscriber can access wireless internet service on GPRS network using specific DHCP relay, and UMTS system can be managed IP address for subscriber roaming.

Recently, the rapidly increased use of smartphone devices provides both opportunity and problems at the same time to the telecom companies in domestic and world wide. It provides a great opportunity to overcome the market stagnation of the existing voice- centric communications, and also problems of building a highly efficient new wireless access networks to accommodate huge volume of data traffic among smart devices. Facing with the age of keen competition, telecom companies have two kinds of strategies for network transition; a strategy of building uniform LTE -based 4G networks as fast as possible, and a hybrid network enhancement strategy compounding 3G and 4G networks using HSP A+, WiFi, cloud computing, etc. It is difficult to predict which strategy will have more successful outcome in the near future. This paper studies the trends and issues of network enhancement policies and transition strategies to the 4G network era, and tries to draw appropriate and efficient ways for network enhancement and operation.

이동통신 망을 이용한 데이터통신 서비스는 정보형인 무선인터넷 서비스와 통신형인 SMS 서비스로 구분하여 국내 무선인터넷 산업 동향을 파악하고, 해외 주요 국가들과 비교하였다. 우리나라와 일본은 통신형과 정보형 서비스가 균형을 이루며 고루 발전하고 있음을 확인하였으며, 서유럽 지역에서는 통신형 서비스 위주로 발전하고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 국내의 데이터통신 서비스는 매출액, 트래픽 면에서 아직 초기시장에 머물러 있으나, 무선인터넷 가입자 기반이 넓고, 높은 성장세를 보이고 있는 등 긍정적인 측면들도 발견할 수 있었다. 또한 WAP/ME 등 브라우저 방식의 가입자가 증가하고 있으며, CP 및 유료 사이트의 수가 증가하는 등 무선인터넷 서비스의 성장을 위한 기반은 잘 갖춰진 것으로 판단된다. 그러므로 가입자 중 실제 사용자의 비중을 늘리고, 이용자들이 좋아하는 콘텐츠를 확대하여 데이터통신의 매출액 비중을 선진 이동통신 국가들 수준으로 높이기 위한 노력이 요구되고 있다.

현재 국내의 초고속통신망의 중심인 가입자망 구축은 통신사업자를 중심으로 시작단계에 있으며 갈수록 수요가 급증하고 있고 이에 따른 신규 서비스망의 구축이 요구되고있다. 또한 국내 제조업체들도 많은 역량을 투자하여 연구개발을 수행하고 있으며 새로운 서비스 충족을 위한 다양한 기능의 장비를 출시하고 있다. 초고속가입자망장비는 광 가입자망장비, xDSL 장비, 무선망 장비 및 케이블 망 장비 등이 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 가입자망 장비의 개발현황을 중심으로 다루고자 한다.

모든 통신망에서 가장 중요한 요소 중에 하나이며, 가장 많은 투자 재원이 필요한 것이 가입자 접속 부문이다. 기존 PSTN 등의 고정망과는 다르게 가입자의 이동성에 따른, 그리고 무선 전파 자원과 기존의 유선 교환 및 전송망을 이용한다는 특성으로 인하여 이동통신망의 가입자 접속부문에 대한 명확한 정의나 개념이 모호한 상태이다. 이에 본 고는 CDMA 이동통신망을 대상으로 BTS, BSC, MSC 등의 서브시스템에 대한 고찰을 통해 보다 체계적이고, 이동통신망의 여러 특성을 충분히 반영한 기능적 관점에서의 가입자 접속부문에 대한 대안적 정의를 제안한다. 특히, 가입자 접속 부문에 대한 기능적인 측면에서의 체계적인 정의는 유무선의 통합화와 이동통신에서의 IP 서비스 제공 등 이종 망간 그리고 서비스간 통합화를 위한 기술 개발 추진과 사업자 및 정책 당국자의 기술전략 수립의 기초 자료로서 활용할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
