Quality Control to Improve Reliability of Automatic Water Quality Data (수질자동측정망 자료의 신뢰성 제고를 위한 정도관리)

  • The automatic water quality monitoring system (AWQMS) have been installed to immediately response to any pollution incident. It also make it possible to conduct the task efficiently regarding water quality control. The purpose of this study is to enhance reliability by securing accuracy of automatic water quality data through quality assessment (QA) for temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen (DO), electric conductivity (EC), total organic carbon (TOC). The result of comparison between manual and automatic data, relative accuracy of general items (temperature, pH, EC, DO) and TOC were mostly satisfied with guideline (i.e. less than 20%). On the other hand, relative accuracy of DO between sampling site and housing site was somewhat against the guideline. The contamination by attaching algae and microorganism in the pipeline is considered as main cause. After backwashing the pipeline, DO concentration was increased up to 53%. Therefore, pipeline management is recognizable as important thing to secure reliability of water quality data.

  • The FLC(Fuzzy Logic Controller) is stronger to the disturbance and has the excellent characteristic to the overshoot of the initialized value than the classical controller, and also can carry out the proper control being out of all relation to the mathematical model and parameter value of the system. But it has the restriction which can't adopt the environment changes of the control system because of generating the fuzzy control rule through an expert's experience and the fixed value of the once determined control rule, and also can't converge correctly to the desired value because of haying the minute error of the controller output value. Now there are many suggested methods to eliminate the minute error, we also suggest the GA-FNNIC(Genetic Algorithm Fuzzy Neural Network Intelligence Controller) combined FLC with NN(Neural Network) and GA(Genetic Algorithm). In this paper, we compare the suggested GA-FNNIC with FLC and analyze the output characteristics, convergence speed, overshoot and rising time. Finally we show that the GA-FNNIC converge correctly to the desirable value without any error.

A Study on the Optimal Welding Condition for Root-Pass in Horizontal Butt-Joint TIG Welding (수평자세 맞대기 TIG 초층용접에서 최적용접조건의 선정에 관한 연구)

  • In this study, to investigate the shape of the back bead as a weld quality parameter and to select the optimal condition of the root-pass TIG welding of a horizontal butt-joint, an experimental design and the response surface method (RSM) have been employed. Three parameters are used as input variables, which include the base current, peak current, and welding speed. The back bead width is selected as an output variable representing the weld quality, the target value of the width is 5.4 mm. Conducting the experiments according to the Box-Behnken experimental design, a $2^{nd}$ regression model for the back bead width was made, and the validation of the model was confirmed by using the F-test. The desirability function was designed through the nominal-the-best formula for the appropriate back bead width. Finally, the following optimal condition for welding was selected using the RSM: base current of 0.9204, peak current of 0.8676, and welding speed of 0.3776 in coded values. For verification, a test welding process under the optimal condition was executed and the result showed the back bead width of 5.38 mm that matched the target value well.

3-D Groundwater Flow Analysis of Excavated Ground by Reliability Method (신뢰성기법에 의한 굴착지반에서의 3차원 지하수 흐름해석)

  • A reliability-groundwater flow analysis is performed and the influence of flow parameters on the probability of exceeding the threshold value is examined. For this study, the 3-D numerical groundwater flow program, DGU-FLOW, is developed by extending the 2-D flow program and is coupled to the first and second order reliability program. The 3-D flow program is verified by solving the examples of groundwater flow through the underground excavation and comparing the results from commercial MODFLOW program. Reliability routine of the program is also verified by comparing the probability of failure with that of Monte-Carlo Simulation. The reliability analysis of the groundwater flow showed that the probability of failure from the first and second order reliability method are quite close to that of Monte-Carlo Simulation. from the parametric study of hydraulic conductivity of soil layers, the increase of both mean and variance of hydraulic conductivity results in the increase of probability of exceeding the threshold flow quantity. The probability of failure was more sensitive to constant head located at the end of the flow domain than the other parameters.

Dual Band Antenna of 433 MHz and 920 MHz for Marine Buoy (해양 부이용 433 MHz와 920 MHz 이중 대역 안테나)

  • This paper shows the design and fabrication of antenna embedded in marine buoy for marine IoT service, especially automatic identification system of fishing gears. Frequency band of proposed antenna has dual band of 433 MHz and 920 MHz considering marine IoT extension. Dual pattern monopole type for 920 MHz and meander type for 433 MHz are adopted in the proposed antenna. Voltage standing wave ratio is obtained 1.548 at 433 MHz and obtained 1.5 of mean value at 920 MHz band by measuring the fabricated antenna. The maximum antenna gain of 3.83 dBi is measured at 902 MHz among 920 MHz band, while antenna gain of 433 MHz is obtained 1.18 dBi. Although antenna gain of 433 MHz is low than 920 MHz band, this gain is larger than desired value of -5 dBi. And, it is confirmed that other measured values meet the performance criteria for archiving communication distance of 10 km between marine buoy and fishing ship in automatic identification system of fishing gears.

  • Reliability allocation is generally used during the early stage of system development to apportion the system reliability target to its individual modules. This paper presents a comprehensive method for performing the reliability allocation of KTX door systems. Nine criteria for reliability allocation include failure criticality, operating time, risk, complexity, failure rate, maintenance, manufacturing technology, working condition, and reliability cost. For satisfying the system reliability target, the allocated $B_{10}$ lives of four modules are provided.

  • We named the system Visual Path Map which visualizes the distribution of clusters according to characteristics and entire process about exercise prescription, and we purpose to visualize a process according to exercise prescription. Visual Path Map visualizes the distribution of clusters according to characteristics, current and object distribution, and changed distribution for prescription. So it visualizes paths from current distribution to object distribution according to prescription. We used SOM in order to express properties along subjects in Visual Path map, and visualized distribution of clusters about physical characteristics, body mass index, and age information of 1,500 ordinary people. Also we visualize practical exercise prescription according to real data of expert of exercise prescription.

Acoustic Properties of the Jeonju World Cup Stadium (전주월드컵 경기장의 음향특성 평가)

  • 전주월드컵 경기장은 Fully Digital sidelobe-free array 방식의 음향시스템을 도입한 유일한 경기장으로서 대규모 경기장에 Line Array type의 스피커를 사용한 최초의 예가 된다. 현장음향실험을 통하여 경기장의 주요 음향 파라미터인 음압레벨(SPL), 잔향시간(RT), 음성명료도(D50), 음성이해도(RASTI) 등을 측정함으로 전주월드컵 경기장의 음향시스템의 특성과 종합적인 음향성능을 알아보고자 한다. 주음원(Messenger)만 사용하여 실험한 결과 음압레벨(SPL)은 관중석의 객석간 위치별 음압레벨 표준편차가 약 2.78dB로 나타났다. 이 값은 당초의 음압레벨분포편차의 목표치인 ${\pm}3dB$의 범위 이내로 나타났다. 또한 최대음압레벨은 평균 100.1dB로 목표치인 96dB을 초과하는 것으로 나타났다. 잔향시간(RT)은 공석시 전체 관중석 평균 2.94초로 나타났으며, 1000Hz에서의 평균 잔향시간은 2.58초로 나타났다. 잔향시간은 실제 경기장의 사용 시 약 0.3-0.4초의 감소가 발생되리라 판단된다. 음성명료도(D50)는 전체 관중석 평균 $56.2\%$로 매우 양호한 상태로 나타났고 음성이해도(RASTI)는 전체 관중석 평균 0.63으로 목표치인 0.5를 상회하는 것으로 나타났다. 이상의 현장음향실험 결과를 분석한 결과 전주월드컵 경기장의 음향성공은 음향설계 요건을 만족하는 것으로 나타났고 야외 경기장 같은 대형공간에서의 음향시스템에 있어서 Fully Digital sidelobe-free array 방식의 음향시스템의 적용가능성을 보여주고 있는 것으로 나타났다.

맥동관형 크라이오 펌프 국산 시제품 성능예측과 평가

  • 맥동관형 크라이오펌프 개발 2단계를 맞아 우성진공(유)을 중심으로 상용화 시제품 제작이 진행되고 있다. 최종 크라이오 펌프 개발품은 흡기구 직경(내경) 16.5 (14) 인치에 질소 배기속도 3,600 L/s를 목표로 하고 있다. 상용품 완성 전에 거쳐야 할 필수적인 시험과정으로 시제품의 공정대응성 현장평가를 위해 KAIST 나노팹에 개발품을 투입하는 프로그램이 계획되어 있어서 공정장치에 장착할 수 있도록 10인치 크라이오 펌프 제작이 추가로 진행되고 있다. 개발품의 성능확인은 우선 몬테카를로 계산을 통해 배기속도를 예측하고 구조설계를 최적화했으며 이를 바탕으로 가공 조립된 크라이오펌프 시제품의 성능을 표준화된 장치에서 표준화된 절차를 통해 평가하여 설계 목표값과 비교했다. 한편 개발품의 성능 수준을 상대적으로 규정하기 위해 기존 상용품들을 같은 방식을 따라 평가하여 성능을 서로 비교하는 작업을 수행했다. 10인치 모델로는 국산 Genesis HPM200, CTI-8 수직형 및 수평형 GM 크라이오 펌프를 성능 시험했으며 16.5인치 개발품의 유사모델로 CTI-12 GM 크라이오 펌프를 시험해서 비교했다.

  • 자율이동로봇에 있어서 기본적이면서도 가장 중요한 문제 중의 하나는 자신의 위치를 추정하는 것이다. 만약 로봇 자신이 어디에 있는지 알지 못한다면 효과적으로 로봇의 동작을 계획할 수도 없을 뿐 아니라, 목표물을 찾을 수도 없으며 목표에 도달하는 데 있어서도 상당한 문제가 생기게 된다. 이미 로봇의 자기 위치추정 문제에 대해서는 GPS, 시각, 레이져, 초음파 센서등을 이용한 많은 기술들이 개발된 상태이다. 하지만 각각의 방법들에 있어서 정확성의 향상은 하드웨어 비용의 증가와 추가 전력을 고려해야 하는 등의 문제를 가져오게 되었다. 문제의 핵심은 저렴하면서도 손쉽고 정확한 값을 갖는 알고리즘을 개발하는 데 있다고 할 수 있는 것이다. 본 논문에서는 초음파 센서를 이용하여 이러한 문제에 대한 만족할 만한 답을 얻고자 한다.
