Design of a Disturbance Observer for DC Motor Speed Control under Load Variation (부하변동이 존재하는 DC 모터의 속도 제어를 위한 외란관측기 설케)

  • This paper considers a speed control problem of DC motor under load variations. In order to reduce the effect of load variation, a disturbance observer has been designed for the given system. With a cheap encoder there exists considerable measurement noise in the velocity feedback and it should be reflected in designing the disturbance observer. The authors have obtained the nominal transfer function of a DC motor and designed a disturbance observer for the control purpose. With the disturbance observer a digital controller has been implemented using a DSP(TMS320F2812). Some experiments show the enhanced performance of the control system with the proposed method.

  • Brushless DC motor which has the characteristics of high efficiency and high torque, can be controlled speed by the encoder or resolver. But these sensors cost highly and have the problem that they increases the size. This paper proposes a speed control by Hall-Sensor. which is small and cheap. But this sensor has a problem of low resolution. To solve the problem this paper proposes speed control by using a least square algorithm.

  • A mixed method between $H_2\;and\;H_{\infty}$ control are widely applied to systems which has parameter perturbation and uncertain model to obtain an optimal robust controller. Brushless Direct Current (BLDC) motors are widely used for high performance control applications. Conventional PID controller only provides satisfactory performance for set-point regulation. However, with the presence of nonlinearities, uncertainties and perturbations in the system, conventional PID is not sufficient to achieve an optimal robust controller. This paper presents an approach to ease designing a Mixed $H_2/H_{\infty}$ PID controller for controlling speed of Brushless DC motors and the genetic algorithm is used to solve the optimized problems. Numerical results are shown to prove that the performance in the proposed controller is better than that in the optimal PID controller using LQR approach.

  • This paper presents the sensorless position control of the Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) using stator flux estimation and Phase Lock Loop (PLL). The field current and the torque current are required in order to perform the vector control of the PMSM. At this time, it is necessary for the torque to know the exact position of the magnetic flux generated by the permanent magnet, because the torque must be applied torque current in the direction orthogonal to the permanent magnet. In general the speed of the PMSM is controlled by using a magnetic position sensor. However, this paper, we estimates the stator flux by using the PLL method without the magnetic position sensor. This method is simple and easy, in addition it has the advantage of a stabile estimation of the rotor. Finally the proposed algorithm was confirmed by experimental results and showed the good performance.

  • This paper proposed new techniques of rotor position detection for 8/6 pole Switched Reluctance Motor(SRM). This technique is very simple and easy to find out rotor position. The main idea uses the impulse responses which have different values between aligned and unaligned rotor position. In order to obtain the informations of the rotor position, the impulse applied to the unenergized phases and their responses are analyzed to control the speed of SRM without shaft sensor. Experimental results verify the feasibility of the proposed method.

  • This paper describes the controller for the improving speed control the AC servo motor. The microprocessor provides an output to the difference in command. The servo system improves the characteristics of speed control. When the motor is running at the same speed as set by the reference signal, the speed encoder also provides a signal of the same frequency. Thus, the microprocessor controlled digital techniques enable to realize the flexible performance and control which was possible with time constant. We can know that optimal speed of machining center is 75msec in 30000mm/min and actually, 75msec is using on machining center. Finally experimental results prove excellent performance of this control system. This can be reduced error with more exact measure of actual speed. The system can be adaptable to CNC machine.

  • This paper is a study about Ac servo motor position and speed control characteristics which depend on feedforward control, the acceleration / deceleration time constant after the interpolation, and PI control, automatic deceleration at corner in order to shape cutting control of feed drive system of the machine tool. The shape error caused by delay of the servo system in the direction of radius at the time of circular cutting is reduced by feedforward control. The shape error generated by the position command delay is minimized by using the acceleration / deceleration time constant after the interpolation. The results were verified to optical machining center experimentation of the machine tool.

  • This paper describes the design and experimental verification of a hybrid fuzzy control system for a BLDC motor drive. The principle of the proposed control system is to use a PI controller which performs satisfactorily in most cases, while a fuzzy controller, which is ready to take over the PI controller. is used when severe perturbations occur. Thus. the PI and fuzzy controller can be managed to take advantage of their positive attributes.

  • Internet provides the useful method to monitor the current states of the machine tool no matter where a personnel is monitoring them. In this paper, a monitoring method of the torque of the machine tool's spindle induction motor using internet is suggested. The torque of vector controlled induction motor is estimated without speed measuring sensor. Only stator currents are measured to estimate the magnetizing current which is used to calculate flux linkage, rotor velocity and motor torque. Graphical programming is used to implement the suggested algorithm, to monitor the torque of an induction motor in real time and to make the estimated torque monitored on client computers. To solve the fluctuation problem of estimated torque caused from instantly varying rotating speed of an induction motor, the rotating speed is reconstructed based on the measured current signals. Mechanical part of the machine tool is also reconstructed using the data obtained from preliminary experiments. Torque of the spindle induction motor is well monitored on the client computers with 3% error range under various cutting conditions.
