An Analysis for the Characteristics of Headward Erosion and Separation Zone due to Bed Discordance at Confluence (합류부 하상고 불일치에 의한 두부침식 및 분리구역 특성분석)

  • The pattern of headward erosion at tributary and the separation zone formation in a loosed bed at confluence according to the confluence angle, discharge ratio, and dredging depth ratio have been analyzed. The separation zone is defined the inside of zero velocity boundary at downstream of confluence. The limit of separation zone occurrence is presented with dredging depth ratio. The propagation length of knickpoint increases as the confluence angle, discharge ratio, and dredging depth ratio increase in general and its regression equation has been suggested. The length and width ratios of separation zone in a loosed bed increase as discharge ratio and confluence angle increase as well as in a fixed bed. The length ratio decreases and the width ratio increases as dredging depth ratio increases results in great increase of shape factor and backwater rise by the conveyance reduction at confluence. The regression equation of shape factor with confluence angle, discharge ratio, and dredging depth ratio has been suggested.

  • This paper presents a technique to evaluate the reliability of customers in Community Energy System(CES). Operators of the CES are responsible for a reliable energy supply to their customers. Due to the strategy of the priority on their customers, the restoration process of DGs should be reordered when system outage happens. The previous study has proposed the technique in the distribution system in which one operator owns all DGs. Case studies in Bus 2 of Roy Billinton Test System(RBTS) verify that the accuracy of the proposed technique is comparable to that of previous technique, and the distribution system divided into several CESs changes the reliability index of customers in the CESs.

  • In or to generate high electric power in increasing demand, power station should operate facilities to meet requirement. The scale of electric power equipment is increasing in both size and complexity. With unexpected accidents at power facilities or power stations happening, substantial socioeconomic losses in an industrial society is caused. A major cause of unexpected accidents is deterioration of dielectrics, isolating two conductors electrically. In order to detect the deterioration processes of power cables, the operation status of power cables should be monitored on a regular basis. We have invented and installed equipment at Korea Western Power Co., Ltd., located in Taean, in order to predict and prevent the deterioration status of dielectrics destruction of power cables. The main line in Y-connection to the secondary coils of transformer delivers electric power to the external devices. The equipment we developed is the one measuring insulation resistance of cables operation in on/off status with respect to the main line. We present the equipment in terms of operation and configuration of hardware side.

  • Currently, separated buses were increased to limit a fault currents in power transmission system. However, separated buses caused bad influences such as a decrease of reliability and stability. Superconducting fault current limiter (SFCL) was proposed to limit a fault current lately and that has many merits beside any other solutions. Therefore, we proposed the install of Superconducting fault current limiter (SFCL) in power transmission system with separated bus. And our proposal was verified by reliability of power system.

  • 본 논문은 UPFC(Unified Power Flow Controi)의 유효전력 및 무효전력의 제어를 통해 시스템의 레벨을 향상시키기 위한 운용 알고리즘을 제시한다. 전력 계통에서 UPFC의 효과 분석하기 위해 분리형 모델(decoupled model)을 이용하였다. 본 논문에서는 계통의 조류 및 전압을 이용한 안전도 지수가 제시되었고, 이를 반복계산(iterative method)을 통해 최소화하였다. 이를 위해 각 안전도 지수의 민감도 벡터가 최소화되는 방향으로 UPFC의 운전점을 찾고, 이로써 시스템의 안전도를 증대시킨다. 제안된 알고리즘은 다기의 UPFC를 대상으로 IEEE 30 모선에 적용하여 시스템 안전도 레벨을 검토하였다.

  • Isolated phase bus is, as a special bus which allows large current from a generator to main transformer, composed of main conductor, enclosure and auxiliary equipments such as insulating bellows, bus elbows, support insulator, etc. To develop this kind of high power devices, it is required to secure the technique of selection of conducting and insulating materials, basic arrangement skills, and analysis on eddy current which causes temperature increase in enclosures. By the way, these techniques are based on the analysis of electromagnetic phenomena for high voltage and large current. In this study, an electromagnetic field analysis program is developed and applied to the isolated phase bus. which could be the basic numerical method for the analysis design and modifying isolated phase bus.

  • 국내의 전력계통은 송전거리가 짧고, 전력공급의 신뢰도 및 안정도 향상을 위해서 망상구조로 되어있다. 이러한 구조는 사고시 임피던스 저하로 인해 사고전류의 크기가 차단기 차단내력을 초과하게 된다. 또한 전력수요 증가로 인해 사고전류의 크기는 계속 증가하고 있다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위해서 배전계통의 장비 및 대용량 보호 기기로의 교체나 모선 분리 등의 방법을 실시하고 있지만 평사시 계통에 미치는 영향과 손실 발생에 따른 효율저하, 대용량 차단기로의 교체에 따른 경제적인 문제를 수반하게 된다. 이러한 문제점을 효과적으로 해결하기 위해 초전도 한류기가 고안되었다. 본 연구에서는 변압기와 초전도 소자를 이용한 자속 결합형 초전도 한류기의 3상 사고전류제한 실험을 수행하였다. 자속 결합형 초전도 한류기는 평상시 정상 상태에서는 초전도 소자가 저항을 발생시키지 않고, 1, 2차 리액터에서 발생하는 자속은 서로 상쇄되어 전압이 유기되지 않음으로써 아무런 손실 없이 동작한다. 하지만 계통에서 사고가 발생하여 초전도 소자 임계 전류값 이상의 사고전류가 유입되면 초전도 소자가 ��치되어 저항을 발생하게 된다. 또한 병렬로 연결된 2차측 리액터에 사고 전류가 bypass되어 1, 2차 리액터에서 전압이 유기되고 이에 따라 안정적으로 사고전류를 제한하게 된다.

  • Isolated phase bus(IPS) has a special structure for carrying large current generated by a generator to a main transformer. In the analysis of IPB, the understanding of the magnetic field distribution generated by large current is important. Especially, while the bus conductor current is flowing, almost same amount of current as bus conductor current is induced in the enclosures under the influence of time varying magnetic field, and therefore the large electric loss and the deterioration of insulating capability might occur due to Joule heating effect. Hence for the optimal design of IPB satisfying the condition to minimize the loss, the accurate analysis of magnetic field distribution and the eddy current characteristics of three phase isolated phase bus have been investigated. In the analysis of time varying magnetic field, instead of finite difference method(FDM) which is generally used, finite element method with phasor concept is investigated under the assumption that the bus current is purely sinusoidal. The characteristics is studied along the phase angle by comparing the effect of eddy current on the magnetic field distribution with the case that eddy current is not considered, and also the effect of material, thickness and radius of enclosure on the eddy current distribution is discussed.

Developmental Plan of Man-Overboard Alert Devices of Small Fishing Vessels: A Study (소형어선의 선외추락 경보장치 개발 방안 연구)

  • A method of transmitting an alert signal in case of man-overboard (MOB) systems in a small fishing vessel navigating within coastal area is being operated as VHF-DSC equipment via a distress alert button and V-P ass Equipment via alert button or beacon separation. However, a small fishing vessel with a couple of crews on board is an inappropriate way to alert a man-overboard condition. However, internationally, MOB equipment using VHF-DSC, AIS, and Bluetooth technologies is used to transmit alert signals directly to the mother ship and other radio stations. In order to analyze the performance and technology of the MOB equipment operating in foreign countries, it was confirmed that the alarm signal can be received within a maximum of one nautical mile when the MOB device is on the water surface. An MOB device that meets domestic conditions needs to send an alarm signal to a station within the VHF communication range. However, in order to reduce the false alert signal, it is most appropriate to operate the VHF-DSC radio equipment installed on the ship remotely. Analysis of various technologies connecting the MOB and the VHF-DSC revealed that the Bluetooth system has advantages such as device miniaturization. When an emergency signal is transmitted from the MOB device, it can be received by a dedicated receiver and recognized through an external input terminal of the VHF-DSC equipment generating its own alarm. If the emergency situation cannot be processed at the mother ship, a distress alert is sent to all radio stations via VHF-DSC for response under emergencies faced by small fishing vessels.
