  • The purpose of this study is to empirically analyze the impact of corporate innovation activities on corporate innovation performance using data from companies participating in the smart farm project. A company's innovation activities were divided into planning capacity, R&D capacity, and commercialization capacity, and the impact of each innovation activity on the company's sales and patent creation was estimated. The moderating effect was also analyzed. Regression analysis was conducted as a research method, and as a result of the analysis, it was found that planning capacity, R&D capacity, and commercialization capacity related to innovation within a company have an impact on corporate performance creation. appeared to be In order to increase the business performance of technology commercialization, it was confirmed that planning and R&D capabilities as well as governmental technology policy support are needed.

  • Urban air mobility (UAM) is being developed as part of the next-generation aircraft, which could be a viable solution to entrenched problems of urban traffic congestion and environmental pollution. A new airport platform called vertiport as a space where UAM can take off and land vertically is also being introduced. Noise regulations for UAM will be strict due to its operation in a highly populated urban area. Ground effects caused by vertiport can directly affect aerodynamic forces and noise characteristics of UAM. In this study, ground effects of vertiport on aerodynamic loads, vorticity field, and far-field noise were analyzed using Lattice-Boltzmann Method (LBM) simulation and Ffowcs Williams and Hawkings (FW-H) acoustic analogy with a permeable surface method.

Ammonia Wastewater Treatment and Selective Recovery Using a Sweep Gas-Vacuum Hybrid Type Membrane Degassing Process (스윕 가스-진공 하이브리드식 탈기막 공정을 활용한 암모니아 폐수처리 및 선택적 회수)

  • In this study, a sweep gas - vacuum hybrid type membrane degassing process was proposed for ammonia wastewater treatment. In addition, the ammonia selective recovery of the hybrid type membrane degassing process was also investigated. As a result, the hybrid type membrane degassing process showed better degassing performance (54.9 mg NH3/m2min for 360 min) than the sweep gas type (32.3 mg NH3/m2min) or vacuum type (22 mg NH3/m2min). Additionally, the hybrid type membrane degassing process showed an excellent ammonia selectivity (103 times compared to Na+ Na+, 133 times compared to Ca2+). The ammonia selectivity was appeared to be due to the conversion characteristics of ammonium ion / dissolved ammonia depending on pH. The results in this study are expected to be used in the development of ammonia wastewater treatment and ammonia recovery in the future.

  • Recently, there has been a worldwide increase in research and development on automated vehicles for commercialization. It is expected that the use of level 3 autonomous vehicles on continuous-flow roads will be introduced and will increase. Consequently, various studies have been conducted to investigate the impact of mixed traffic flow with automated vehicles based on the market penetration rate (MPR). However, these studies have been conducted independently, and the results have shown different trends. Therefore, this study attempted a quantitative analysis of the impact of automated vehicles on mixed traffic flow on uninterrupted roads through a meta-analysis. The results showed that the effect size estimated from an MPR of 75% or higher was statistically significant.

  • In the transportation sector, reducing total vehicle mileage and passenger vehicle traffic are proposed as strategies to achieve carbon neutrality. To achieve this, MaaS services must be actively promoted with the goal of revitalizing public transportation. In order to promote MaaS, individual movement data is required, such as the individual's means of movement, route, and conversion of the individual's means of use. However, in Korea, there are legal limitations in collecting and utilizing data on individual movements. As the right to request transmission of personal information was newly established in the revised Personal Information Protection Act in 2023, a law was established to collect and utilize data on individual movements. However, enforcement ordinance, detailed rules, instructions, guidelines must be prepared, and the standardization of data format and transmission system for collecting my data needs to take precedence.

  • Ammonia is drawing attention as carbon free fuel due to its ease of storage and transportation compared to hydrogen. This study suggests ammonia fueled solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) system with electrochemical hydrogen compressor (EHC)-based recirculation. Performance of electrochemical hydrogen pump is based on the experimental data under varying hydrogen and nitrogen concentration. As a result, the suggested system shows 62.04% net electrical efficiency. The efficiency is 10.33% point higher compared to simple standalone SOFC system (51.71%), but 0.02% point lower compared to blower-based recirculation system (62.06%). Further improvement in the EHC-based SOFC recirculation system can be achieved with EHC performance improvement.

  • A smart key has been used in a variety of embedded environments and there also have been attacks from a remote place by amplifying signals at a location of a user. Existing studies on defence techniques suggest multiple sensors and hash functions to improve authentication speed; these, however, increase the electricity usage and the probability of type 1 error. For these reasons, I suggest an embedded security controller based on client authentication and user movement information improving the authentication method between a controller and a host device. I applied encryption algorithm to the suggested model for communication using an Arduino board, GPS, and Bluetooth and performed authentication through path analysis utilizing user movement information for the authentication. I found that the change in usability was nonsignificant when performing actions using the suggested model by evaluating the time to encode and decode. The embedded security controller in the model can be applied to the system of a remote controller for a two-wheeled vehicle or a mobile and stationary host device; in the process of studying, I found that encryption and decryption could take less then 100ms. The later study may deal with protocols to speed up the data communication including encryption and decryption and the path data management.

  • In order to accelerate the commercialization of self-driving cars, it is necessary to accurately identify the causes of deteriorating the driving safety of the current self-driving cars and try to improve them. This study conducted a questionnaire survey of experts studying autonomous driving in Korea to identify the causes of problems in the driving safety of autonomous vehicles and the level of autonomous driving technology in Korea. As a result of the survey, the construction section, heavy rain/heavy snow conditions, fine dust conditions, and the presence of potholes were less satisfied with the current technology level than their importance, and thus priority research and development was required. Among them, the failure of road/road facilities and the performance of the sensor itself in the construction section and the porthole, and the performance of the sensor and the absence of an algorithm were the most responsible for the situation connected to the weather. In order to realize safe autonomous driving as soon as possible, it is necessary to continuously identify and resolve the causes that hinder the driving safety of autonomous vehicles.

  • There is growing significance in securing urban parks and enhancing their accessibility due to irrational residential developments and apartment construction. Accordingly, Daejeon Metropolitan City has carried out urban park management projects to improve the quality of parks and create new parks. Daejeon Metropolitan City generates and manages park data for the purpose of management by the administrative district. However, these datasets take different forms in each administrative district. This study integrates the park data in Daejeon, generated by administrative districts, into the same format and generates geographic information data with the area information of each park for analysis. Analysis results show that urban parks are severely imbalanced across administrative districts, requiring new policy measures. In addition, by normalizing the park analysis results and, then, creating their rankings, this study compares them with the actual park information in detail to confirm the soundness of the dataset. The analysis results provide implications to improve the management of urban parks. This study proposes integrated datasets and the continued management of them in each administrative district by including essential data that can feature the objective information of the parks along with park evaluation indicators based on previous studies.

  • As the competition among the autonomous vehicle (AV, here after) developers are getting fierce, Korean government has been supporting developers by deregulating safety standards and providing financial subsidies. Recently, some OEMs announced their plans to market Lv3 and Lv4 automated driving systems. However, these market changes raised concern among public road management sectors for monitoring road conditions and alleviating hazardous conditions for AVs and human drivers. In this regards, the authors proposed a methodology for monitoring road infrastructure to identify hazardous factors for AVs and categorizing the hazards based on their level of impact. To evaluate the degrees of the harm on AVs, the authors suggested a methodology for managing road hazard factors based on vehicle performance features including vehicle body, sensors, and algorithms. Furthermore, they proposed a method providing AVs and road management authorities with potential risk information on road by delivering them on the monitoring map with node and link structure.
