Development of Augmented Reality Based 3D Model Interaction User-Interface for Supporting Ship Design Drawing Information (선박 설계도면 정보 제공을 위한 증강현실 기반의 3D 모델 상호작용 사용자 인터페이스 개발)

  • Recently, due to improvement of computer performance and development of information devices, technology of mobile augmented reality is proliferating rapidly. However, because most of contents are passive or limitary, user can not feel interest and immersion. This paper designs interaction user interface system of 2 dimensional drawing based on mobile augmented reality to make bi-directional communication between the real world and the virtual world possible by using the vision based augmented reality and the database system.

  • This paper presents a framework of real-time augmented reality on 3-D mobile display with stereo camera tracking. In the framework, camera poses are jointly estimated with the geometric relationship between stereoscopic images, which is based on model-based tracking. With the estimated camera poses, the virtual contents are correctly augmented on stereoscopic images through image rectification. For real-time performance, stereo camera tracking and image rectification are efficiently performed using multiple threads. Image rectification and color conversion are accelerated with a GPU processing. The proposed framework is tested and demonstrated on a commercial smartphone, which is equipped with a stereoscopic camera and a parallax barrier 3-D display.

  • 지난 몇년간 우리의 온라인 게임은 괄목할 만한 성장을 거듭했으며, 이제 양적인 면에서 국내시장에는 고점에 와있다고 본다. 하지만 PC성능의 향성, 플랫폼의 다양화, 초고속통신망의 확대, 2D에서 3D로의 발전, 다양한 게임 장르의 구현 등으로 질적인 면에서의 성장은 앞으로도 고도의 성장을 구가할 수 있다고 본다. 특히 해외시정의 경우 인프라 구축과 더불어 급성장세를 유지하리라 예측된다. 향후 1~2년 안에 200억 달러가 넘을 세계 게임시장에서 온라인 게임이 차지하는 비중은 점점 늘어가는 추세이며 앞으로 5년안에는 모바일, 콘솔온라인, MMORPG 등의 네트워크 관련 게임이 전체시장의 50%에 이를 전망이다. 이는 현재 온라인 게임이 차지하고 있는 세계시장 점유율과 매출 총액에 대비한다면 이들이 성장의 주축을 이루리라고 판단하기에 어렵지 않다.

  • 3차원 건설환경의 디지털기반의 가시화는 도시계획 및 통신계획, 건설, 건축, 입체적인 도시공간정보시스템 구현, 안전 및 방재 등에서 많은 필요와 그 중요성이 크게 부각되고 있다. 건설현장의 환경정보의 사전분석에 의하여 USN의 구성과 실시간 정보취득의 장점을 활용하여 기존의 항공사진과 DEM의 매칭에 의한 3D지형공간에 온도, 습도, 조도, 적외선량, GPS위치, 이산화탄소량 등의 환경정보를 실시간으로 원하는 장소와 시간에서 획득하여 이를 모바일 스마트폰으로 연결함으로서 새로운 건설환경정보를 사전에 분석할 수 있도록 하였다.

  • Recently, the use and application of computer graphics in the mobile and ubiquitous environment are growing. Real-time rendering and modeling for computer graphics are due to system performance, there're lots of limitation in lower system such as PDA and cell phone etc. Therefore, we suggested the intelligent Serving Rendering Middleware which is to provide adaptation service of computer graphics contents fit to user's environment real-time whatever environment the users are in. The Service Rendering Middleware needs multi-level configurations and applications, so, in this paper we propose multi-level algorithm to decide adaptation levels are deal with separately according to device performance.

  • As digital contents based on 3D graphics are increased, the requirement for low power 3D graphic hardware for mobile devices is increased. We design a transformation engine for mobile 3D graphic processor. We propose a simplified transformation engine for mobile 3D graphic processor. The area of the transformation engine is reduced by merging a mapping transformation unit into a projective transformation unit and by replacing a clipping unit with a selection unit. It consists of a viewing transformation unit a projective transformation unit a divide by w nit, and a selection unit. It can process 32 bit floating point format of the IEEE-754 standard or a reduced 24 bit floating point format. It has a pipelined architecture so that a vertex is processed every 4 cycles except for the initial latency. The RTL code is verified using an FPGA.

  • In this paper, we apply the learning of the mobile robot insect augmented reality Digilog Book. In the era of electronic, book written in paper space just have moved to virtual reality space. The virtual reality, constraints spatial and physical, in the real world, it is a technique that enables to experience indirectly situation not experienced directly as user immersive experience type interface. Applied to the learning robot Digilog Book that allows the fusion of paper analog and digital content, using the augmented reality technology, to experience various interactions. Apply critical elements moving, three-dimensional images and animation to enrich the learning, for easier block assembly, designed to grasp more easily rank order between the blocks. Anywhere at any time, is capable of learning of the robot in Digilog Book to be executed by the mobile phone in particular.

  • Most games based on PCs or consoles at present show vivid special effects and brilliance sceneries. However, the other games running on mobiles and portable devices can not show magnificent scenes because of low hardware specifications such as slow CPU, old graphics card and battery capacity. These games relatively prefer light and casual contents that do not need tremendous calculation. It is very important to keep minimum of game graphics quality in those games. Thus this research presents the new possibility of variable indexed color palettes to overcome the low hardware capacities.

  • With the development of OSMU mode in the game industry, the most popular 3D mobile game 'Honour Of Kings' in China, in addition to the entertainment effects of the game itself, has paid more attention to the production of promotional animation video contents in recent years. The huge animation market is generating abundant game revenue for 'Honour Of Kings'. This paper selected the most popular game promotional animations 'MU BIAO' and 'Bu Ye Chang'an' through a survey of 30 CG promotional animation in the official story station of 'Honour of Kings'. Important elements such as rich stories and the special effects of the gorgeous scenes, etc are summarized. Through the research of this paper, grasped the importance of promotional animation content in the game industry, and can expect the common growth of the game industry and the animation industry, which is one of the ways to create high profits in the game market.
