Infrastructure for Network Applications based on Multi-Platform (멀티 플랫폼 기반 네트워크 응용을 위한 기반 구조)

  • Several multi-user online applications which are operated by the existing fixed terminals(PC) are being changed into online application based on multi-platform operated by the several PC, PDA and mobile phones to perform concurrent works due to the popularization of mobile devices recently. This paper proposed the infrastructure for network applications based on multi-platform. We also proposed the methods of consistency control based on multi-platform, update propagation protocols among diverse clients which take the asymmetry of computing power and network bandwidth among each client into account. Moreover, we implemented a chatting application based on multi-platform and it showed the proposed infrastructure and methods perform well.

Design and Implementation of a Virtual Machine for Embedded Systems (임베디드 시스템을 위한 가상기계의 설계 및 구현)

  • This paper presents the EVM(Embedded Virtual Machine) which enables the execution of dynamic applications loaded in the embedded systems such as Mobile Devices(mobile phone, PDA), Set-Top Box, and Digital TV using downloading techniques. To accomplish this goal, we defined a SIL-(Standard Intermediate Language) code, and implemented a Bytecode-to-SIL translator which enables the execution of programs written in java language in the EVM platform without JVM, and a MSIL--to-SIL- translator which enables for programs written in .NET language to be executed in the EVM platform without .NET platform. Also, we developed a EFF(Executable File Format) builder as an assembler which translates SIL codes into an executable file, *.evm, and implemented the EVM which reads the *.evm file and executes it. The virtual machine for embedded systems developed in this paper is the software technologies that enable the execution of applications or contents without changes to when the platforms change. In fact, the virtual machine suggested here is not only usable as a standard model for existing virtual machines but also aid in more efficient execution of applications loaded in the embedded systems such as Mobile Devices, Digital TV, and Set-Top Box.

  • As smart device companies such as Google or Apple develop competitive mobile-based automotive operating systems and navigation systems, the range of choice for users in such markets is expanding. Navigation systems equipped with mobile operating systems have increased convenience for users. However, since an API for the POI databases used in navigation systems doesn't exist, the number of applications using POI data is insufficient. In this paper, we designed and implemented system calls for navigation operating systems with a focus on POI search, in order to resolve such limitations. The system calls support set-based POI search functions, and therefore provides solutions to search performance degradation problems caused by false inputs. As a result of performance evaluation, not only did the search performance improve, but there was also no problem in applying APIs in applications.

  • We have implemented a Jini-Agent system which enables resource-limited mobile devices to utilize the Jini connection service. The Jini-Agent system supports Jini connection technologies to mobile devices without additional client program installation in it. It also supports a dynamic service list which helps the mobile devices to search and to utilize the services through web browser in real time. A couple of examples such as a file search service and a print service with mobile devices have been demonstrated by using the Jini-Agent system.

  • In these days mobile handsets have come to be used at almost every user. The mobility of mobile devices and the performance improvement of the mobile networks have made this trend possible. As a great variety of mobile applications are published, the necessity of running large-scale mobile applications becomes greater than before. To accomplish this, the existing researchers have developed mobile cluster computing libraries like Mobile-JPVM. In this paper, we implement a compute-intensive Animated GIF generating application and its cell phone viewer software using Mobile-JPVM library. We find out by the real execution of our softwares on the KTF handsets that they can sufficiently run on cellular phones. Our Animated GIF generator and its viewer are going to be commercially used for the mobile fashion advertisement systems.

  • 매쉬업은 공개된 Open API들을 이용하여 두 가지 이상의 서로 다른 자원을 섞어서 완전히 새로운 가치의 서비스를 만드는 것이다. 매쉬업은 미래 IT 융합 서비스의 효과적인 구현 방법으로써 그 관심도가 점점 높아지고 있으나 컴퓨팅 파워가 떨어지는 스마트폰 환경에서 매쉬업을 성공적으로 개발하기 위해서는 한정된 스마트폰 성능과 고성능 무선 인터넷 활용에 대한 이슈들을 고려해야만 한다. 본 논문에서는 다양한 Open API들을 이용하여 스마트폰에서 활용 가능한 위치기반 모바일 매쉬업을 개발한다. 이는 클라우드 컴퓨팅 개념을 접목하여 별도의 솔루션을 구축하지 않고도 저비용 고효율적으로 스마트폰 응용 프로그램을 제작할 수 있는 방법을 제시하고 있다.

  • 홈 네트워크 분야는 현재 유무선 통신과 디지털 정보 기기를 기반으로 지능화 된 주거 공간을 제공하고자 하는 스마트 홈 연구가 활발하게 진행 중이다. 최근 사용자에게 더 편리하고 실용적인 스마트 홈 서비스를 어떻게 제공할 것인가에 대한 이슈가 대두되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이를 위해 범용성, 유용성, 편의성을 고려한 서비스에 대해 연구하였다. 플랫폼 독립적인 웹서비스를 기반으로 홈 내 자원에 대한 기본 정보을 제공하고, 자원 사이의 관계 상황을 찾아 새로운 관계 정보를 제공한다. 이를 활용하여 사용자 편의적인 인터페이스를 가진 모바일 응용 프로그램을 개발하였다. 향후 장애 정보와 결합하여 홈 내 유지보수 서비스로의 확장을 기대한다.

  • Spread of smartphone creates various contents. Among many contents, AR application using Location Based Service(LBS) is needed widely. In this paper, we propose error correction algorithm for location-based Augmented Reality(AR) system using computer vision technology in android environment. This method that detects the early features with SURF(Speeded Up Robust Features) algorithm to minimize the mismatch and to reduce the operations, and tracks the detected, and applies it in mobile environment. We use the GPS data to retrieve the location information, and use the gyro sensor and G-sensor to get the pose estimation and direction information. However, the cumulative errors of location information cause the mismatch that and an object is not fixed, and we can not accept it the complete AR technology. Because AR needs many operations, implementation in mobile environment has many difficulties. The proposed approach minimizes the performance degradation in mobile environments, and are relatively simple to implement, and a variety of existing systems can be useful in a mobile environment.

  • This study tried to provide basic data for predicting consumers by applying the structural analysis method (SEM) to the causal relationship model that applied the technology acceptance theory for mobile home training, exercise commitment, and continuous intention. Therefore, in order to identify the strategic tools due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, the survey was conducted using the mobile program "Survey Monkey" according to the sampling plan from February 1, 2021 to May 21, 2021, and a total of 287 valid samples. people were used in the final analysis of consumers. As a result of the study, it was found that the acceptance model had a significant effect(+) on exercise commitment, and the acceptance model had a significant effect(+) on the exercise continuation intention. Finally, it was found that exercise commitment had a significant(+) effect on exercise continuity intention.

Dynamic Power Management Framework for Mobile Multi-core System (모바일 멀티코어 시스템을 위한 동적 전력관리 프레임워크)

  • In this paper, we propose a dynamic power management framework for multi-core systems. We reduced the power consumption of multi-core processors such as Intel Centrino Duo and ARM11 MPCore, which have been used at the consumer electronics and personal computer market. Each processor uses a different technique to save its power usage, but there is no embedded multi-core processor which has a precise power control mechanism such as dynamic voltage scaling technique. The proposed dynamic power management framework is suitable for smart phones which have an operating system to provide multi-processing capability. Basically, our framework follows an intuitive idea that reducing the power consumption of idle cores is the most effective way to save the overall power consumption of a multi-core processor. We could minimize the energy consumption used by idle cores with application-targeted policies that reflect the characteristics of active workloads. We defined some properties of an application to analyze the performance requirement in real time and automated the management process to verify the result quickly. We tested the proposed framework with popular processors such as Intel Centrino Duo and ARM11 MPCore, and were able to find that our framework dynamically reduced the power consumption of multi-core processors and satisfied the performance requirement of each program.
