  • The following results are achieved from a mortar flow test depending on stainless steel slag fineness, rate of replacement, and a research on material age compressive strength, strength activity index. 1. Flow is proportional to the stainless steel slag fineness. 2. Mixing stainless steel slag decreases compressive strength 3. Material age compressive strength has the maximum value when stainless steel slag fineness is 6000$cm^2$/g. 4. Material age 7day strength activity index satisfies KSCE 95-01 at all conditions except the case of fineness 8000$cm^2$/gㆍstainless steel slag rate of replacement 30%. 5. Material age 28day strength activity index satisfies KSCE 95-01 in case of stainless steel slag fineness 4000$cm^2$/gㆍrate of replacement 10%, fineness 6000$cm^2$/gㆍ10%, or 20%.

  • This paper is the part of fundamental study considering whether the unprocessed water cooled blastfurnace slag, by-product of iron works, can be useful for some fine aggregate of mortar and concrete. The acquired results in this study show that the qualities of the water cooled blastfurnace slag produced in the state of raw material in the country in not good for using as a fine aggregate of mortar and concrete. To be used as a fine aggregate of concrete the qualities need to be improved in the process of manufacture.

  • This study is performed to examine the non-destruction properties of the Hwangtoh mortar. The absorption ratio is in the range of $8.25%{\sim}18.16%$, it tend to increase with increase using the stone dust and Hwangtoh. The pulse velocity and dynamic modulus at the curing age 7 and 28days are in the range of $2,290m/s{\sim}4,140m/s,\;2,976m/s{\sim}4,219m/s\;and\;105{\times}10^3kgf/cm^2{\sim}293{\times}10^3kgf/cm^2,\;137{\times}10^3kgf/cm^2{\sim}318{\times}10^3kgf/cm^2$, respectively. They tend to decrease with increase using the stone dust and Hwangtoh.

  • This study was performed to evaluate the internal and external factors affecting external strength of the 3-layer polymer composite pipes made of polymer mortar and fiber-glass reinforced plastic. Twenty four sandwich type 3-layer polymer composite pipes were made of polymer mortar and fiber-glass reinforced plastic by centrifugal method. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effects the of polymer mortar thickness for and core fiber-glass contents per unit area on external strength of 3-layer polymer composite pipes. For the more economical and practical design of 3-layer polymer composite pipe, further study should be done for the various polymer mortar, fiber-glass and different ratio of the inside/outside FRP thickness.

  • Recently, the development of the paved track is required as a low-maintenance of conventional line. The main reason is that the line capacity and bearing of track are increased progressively. The important factors of paved track are stability and applicability. To be based on this subject, Cement Mortar Pouring(CMP) paved track is developed. CMP paved track is a kind of ballast reinforced track using the prepacked concrete technique. The most important thing to design the paved track is to optimize the track structure considering various conditions. Because construction environment is very limited, cost is expensive and it has very complicated behavior. On this paper, structural characteristics of the paved track are investigated using the 3D finite element analysis to verify the optimized structure of the CMP track.

  • Recently, it has been often reported that recycling of wasted glasses should be a great topic in related business circles. For the environmental reasons, a public institution are looking fur the ways of recycling these waste glasses. Consequently, the purpose of this research is to recycle crushed and powdered waste glasses by substituting for the cement in mortar and concrete. First of all, the optimum replacement ratio of Powdered Waste Glasses(PWG) can be obtained from the pilot test results. Secondary, we make advances in recycling of waste glasses as recycled to make secondary concrete products. So, we manufactured concrete brick and block contained powdered waste glasses by through mortar pilot test.

  • This paper discusses the strength properties of the polymer-modified mortars using redispersible polymer powders, which is widely used for the manufacture of prepackaged-type polymer-modified mortar products at present. The polymer-modified mortars using redispersible polymer powders are prepared with various polymer-cement ratios, and tested for air content, flexural and compressive strengths, and tensile strength. The strength properties are almost the same as those of polymer dispersion-modified mortars, depending on the polymer-cement ratios, and are improved over unmodified mortar. In particular, between tensile strength and glass transition point of polymer powder have a high correlation. It is concluded from the test results that polymer-modified mortars using redispersible polymer powders can be used in the same manner as ordinary polymer dispersion-modified mortars.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the bond properties of polymer cement mortar. Generally, cement mortar using polymer has been used that recovering the deteriorative concrete structure performance. In this case, it is very important problem to become a monolithic construction by bonding property. In this study, it is evaluated with other properties that adhesion strength between polymer cement mortar and concrete substrate. And polymer cement mortar was compared with plain cement mortar by scanning electron microscope.

  • The 5 types of cement mortar was immersed in the various chemical solutions for 400 days and then the compressive strength and the length change were measured to consider the chemical resistance at required ages. Due to the effect of flyashe and GGBF slag, the compressive strength of blended cement mortar was higher than that of portland cement mortar at long ages. According to the result of length change, the mineral admixture in blended cement had an indluence on reducing the amount of C3A, the cause of making concrete expand, and it made the formation of cements mortar denser so that the length change was much smaller than that of the portland cement mortar. However, the OPC mortar immersed in Na2SO4 solution for 180 days shows 4 times bigger length change chante than the blended cement mortar.

  • This experimental study presents the strength properties of mortar using the blast-furnace slag sand. The mix disign of this study is based on the each three classes of unit water; (250, 275, 300)kg/㎥ and four classes of W/C; (45, 50, 55, 60)% and substitution rate(0, 25, 50, 75, 100)%. It gives following result. As W/C ratio increase, the strength is decrease. In case of mortar using air-cooled blast-furnace slag sand, the 3-days and 7-days compression strength is increase as substitution rate is higher. But in case of the mortar using the quenched blast-furnace slag sand, the compression strength is decrease as substitution rate is higher.
