  • Of srategic importance nowdays is the development of high performance spacecraft bus. In this study, optimization for spacecraft structure is performed under the framework of coupled load analysis which is a branch of component mode synthesis with constrained mode and modal transient analysis. unlike the traditional method which uses the quasi-static table supplied by launch vehicle contractor, the present method adots the load results of previous coupled load analysis. It if shown that the proposed method can serve as a effective tool for the optimization spacecraft structure in the early stage of design and weight reduction by numerical example.

High-Speed Shear Test Characterization of Sn-Ag-Cu-In Quaternary Solder Joint (Sn-Ag-Cu-In 4원계 무연솔더 조인트의 고속 전단 특성)

  • With Pb-free solder joints containing Sn-Ag-Cu-based ternary alloys (Sn-1.0 wt.%Ag-0.5Cu and Sn-4.0Ag-0.5Cu) and Sn-Ag-Cu-In-based quaternary alloys (Sn-1.0Ag-0.5Cu-1.0In, Sn-1.2Ag-0.5Cu-0.4In, Sn-1.2Ag-0.5Cu-0.6In, and Sn-1.2Ag-0.7Cu-0.4In), fracture-mode change, shear strengths, and fracture energies were observed and measured under a high-speed shear test of 500 mm/s. The samples in each composition were prepared with as-reflowed ones or solid-aged ones at $125^{\circ}C$ to 500 h. As a result, it was observed that ductile or quasi-ductile fracture modes occurs in the most of Sn-Ag-Cu-In samples. The happening frequency of a quasi-ductile fracture mode showed that the Sn-Ag-Cu-In joints possessed ductile fracture properties more than that of Sn-3.0Ag-0.5Cu in the high-speed shear condition. Moreover, the Sn-Ag-Cu-In joints presented averagely fracture energies similar to those of Sn-Ag-Cu joints. While maximum values in the fracture energies were measured after the solid aging for 100 h, clear decreases in the fracture energies were observed after the solid aging for 500 h. This result indicated that reliability degradation of the Sn-Ag-Cu-In solder joints might accelerate from about that time.

  • This paper presents an experimental study to investigate enhanced performance of the masonry walls strengthened in shear and ductility using honeycomb steel mesh. The performance of masonry walls strengthened with steel mesh will compare with unreinforced masonry walls to show the performance of reinforced masonry walls. According to the experiment, it is expected that this system is effective to enhance the shear strength and ductility of the masonry walls.

Ductile Fracture Behaviour of SA 533B Pressure Vessel Steel Under Mixed Mode (I/II) Loading (혼합 모드(I/II) 하중에 의한 SA533B 압력용기강의 연성파괴 특성에 관한 연구)

  • The aim of this study is to investigate the ductile fracture behavior under mixed mode (I/II) loading using SA533B pressure vessel steel. Anti-symmetric 4-point (AS4P) bonding tests were performed to obtain the J-R curves under two different mixed mode (I/II) loadings. In addition, the fractographic examination of fracture surfaces was carried out to compare with those of pure Mode I and Mode II. In conclusions, the J-R curves under Mixed Mode (I/II) loading were located between those of Mode I and Mode II loadings. When the mixture ratio of mixed mode (I/II) loading was high, the J-R currie of mixed mode (I/II) loading approached that of pure mode I loading after some amount of crack propagation. In contrast with the above fact, if the mixture ratio was low, the J-R curve looked after that of pure mode II loading. The fractographic evidences such as the shape of dimples under different loading conditions supported these conclusions.

Ductile Fracture Behaviour of SPS Specimen Under Pure Mode II Loading (순수 모드 II하중 하에서의 SPS 시험편의 연성파괴 특성에 관한 연구)

  • The aim of this study is to investigate the ductile fracture behaviour under pure Mode II loading using A533B pressure vessel steel. Single punch shear(SPS) test was performed to obtain the J-R curve under pure Mode II loading which was compared with that of the Model I loading. Simulation using Rousellier Ductile Damage Theory(RDDT) was carried out with 4-node quadrilateral element(L(sub)c=0.25mm). For the crack advance, the failed element removal technique was adopted with a $\beta$ criterion. Through the $\beta$ value tuning-up procedures, $\beta$(sub)crit(sup)II was determined as 1.5 in contrast with $\beta$(sub)crit(sup)I=5.5. In conclusion, it was found that the J-R curve under Mode II loading was located at lower part than that under Mode I loading obtained from the previous study and that the $\beta$ values strongly depended on the loading type. In addition, the predicted result using RDDT showed a good agreement with the SPS experimental one under pure Mode II loading.

A Study on the Characteristics of Coupling Loss factor Associated with Fluid Loading (접수 구조물의 연성손실계수 변화에 관한 연구)

  • Statistical Energy Analysis(SEA) is an efficient tool to predict the broadband noise and vibration for the huge and complex structures such as aircraft and ships. To estimate the noise and vibration by using SEA accurately, the characteristics of SEA parameters associated with fluid loading have to be investigated. In this report, the fluid loaded coupling loss factors were calculated for an 'L' and 'T' type line connections and compared to the ones without fluid loading. Then, the vibration levels for steel box model with 'L' and 'T' type line connection were computed using the fluid loaded and no fluid loaded coupling loss factors, respectively. As a result, the calculated vibration levels of the model using the fluid loaded coupling loss factors were lower than those without fluid loading. As a conclusion, it is necessary to use the fluid loaded coupling loss factors for increasing the prediction accuracy on the noise and vibration of immersed structures.

  • The foundation of offshore wind energy system is generally assumed to be fixed-ended in system analysis for the convenience of calculation and, correspondingly, it might lead a conservative design. If soil-foundation interaction get involved with the analysis, the system characteristics such as natural frequency, shear force, moment and displacement are expected to differ from those of fixed-ended case. In this study, the analysis have been conducted to identify how the response of offshore wind turbine varies upon considering the foundation flexibility with soil-foundation interaction. The model taking account of the flexibility of foundation was compared with fixed-ended model at the seabed. The flexibilities of foundation were obtained by coupled spring model at the seabed and Winkler Spring Model with soil depth. As a result, the first mode of the whole system with the Winkler Spring Model was decreased relative to that with the fixed-ended model. The results showed that the effect of foundation flexibility should be considered when designing the offshore wind energy system.

  • 본 연구는 철근비와 보강판비를 조정한 보강철근비를 변수로 탄소섬유쉬트 접착된 철근콘크리트 보에 대하여 그 변형특성과 강도특성 및 파괴모드를 실험적으로 고찰한 것이다. 철근비와 보강판비가 증가할수록 최대내력은 증가하는 경향을 보이지만 탄소섬유쉬트의 겹수가 증가할수록 철근비 증가의 경우와는 달리 에너지흡수능력이 저하된다. 철근비와 보강판비에 따른 파괴모드를 구분하고 시험결과와 비교, 고찰하였던 바 파괴모드와 연성의 측면에서 보강철근비 е의 한계값을 0.87 max으로 제안하였다.탄소섬유쉬트와 철근콘크리트 보의 합성작용이 철근항복이후까지 유지되어 비선형적인 거동을 보임으로써 구조적거동이 양호하게 나타나는 것으로 입증되었다.

Damage Assessment and Aseismic Capacity Evaluation of Existing Structures (기설구조물의 손상도 및 내진능력 평가방법)

  • 본 연구에서는 기설구조물에 대한 손상도 추정기법과 내진능력평가 방법에 대하여 연구하였다. 구조물의 손상도를 추정하는 방법으로는 소수의 계측 데이터를 이용한 모드섭동법(inverse modal perturbation)을 이용하였다. 구조물의 손상은 강성행렬의 감소로 표현하여, 각 요소행렬에 대한 손상을 손상지수를 사용하여 나타내었다. 구조적 손상과 이에 기인한 고유진동 특성의 변화량과의 관계를 섭동방정식으로부터 구한 후, 이로부터 손상지수와 고유진동 특성의 변화량과의 관계를 유동하였다. 따라서 손상 전과 후에서 구조물의 고유진동수와 모드형상을 측정하여 섭동식의 해를 구함으로써 구조물의 강성행렬의 감소로 나타나는 구조물의 손상도를 추정하게 된다. 손상도 추정에 의해 평가된 강성의 변화량에 기인한 손상 후의 기설구조물의 지진응답, 내진능력과 지진손상도의 평가를 손상전과 비교하였다. 내진능력은 구조부재에서 회전연성도 능력의 경험식을 이용하여 평가하였고, 지진손상도의 평가는 가장 많이 사용되는 방법인 Park & Ang 방법을 사용하였다. 예제해석은 다른 지진하중을 받는 2층과 8층의 예제구조물에 대해서 수행하였다.

Effect of Cr/Ni equivalent ratio on ductility-dip cracking in AISI 316L austenitic stainless steel weld metals ($Cr_{eq}/Ni_{eq}$ 당량비에 따른 AISI 316L 스테인리스강의 연성저하균열 특성에 대한 연구)

  • AISI 316L 스테인리스강에 새롭게 디자인한 서로 다른 3가지 응고모드를 가진 와이어로 FCAW(Flux Cored Arc Welding)을 하였다. 각각의 3가지 와이어는 Pseudobinary phase diagram에 따라 AF, FA, F모드를 가졌다. 미세조직은 $Cr_{eq}/Ni_{eq}$이 증가할수록 델타 페라이트 함량이 증가하였으며, 초정 상의 경우 초정 오스테나이트에서 초정 페라이트로 변태하였고, 연성저하균열의 민감도가 감소하였다. 연성저하균열은 이동결정립계의 형상에 따라 좌우되며, 미량의 페라이트를 함유한 오스테나이트에서는 페라이트가 핀(Pin) 역할을 제대로 하지 못하여 직선형태의 이동 결정립계 따라 입계 미끄러짐의 메커니즘을 통해 전파되었으며, 곡선형태의 이동 결정립계에서는 델타 페라이트가 핀 역할을 하여 역할을 하여 구속 상태에서 응력집중을 막고 응력을 분산시켜 균열이 전파되는 것을 방해하여 균열이 발생되지 않았다.
