  • While traditional two-axis tracking systems with double sensors had been using two sensors to control azimuth and elevation angle of the sun so that a solar cell module would make a normal line with the sun, this paper proposed a new two-axis system that can achieve the same performance with only one sensor in it. It is Two-axis tracking system that control azimuth and elevation to control to be reduced for solar cell module as proposed tracking system uses 1 sensors and the sun always forms normal. Two-axis tracking system of one sensor method that propose in paper that could reduce electric power consumption and sees than fixed type preventing action and the most efficient driving and needless drive could confirm that generation efficiency of about 23 [%] increases. To heighten efficiency of solar cell doing to receive more sunlights chasing the sun, done tracking device have proceeded a lot of studies in large size way. Therefore, is expected that will do big part in the sun tracking supply through utility study about persistent generation efficiency constructing monitoring system of the sun tracking of this paper.

  • In this paper, we present an inertial sensor-based motion capturing system to measure and analyze whole body movements. This system implements a wireless AHRS(attitude heading reference system) we developed using a combination of rate gyroscope, accelerometer and magnetometer sensor signals. Several AHRS modules mounted on segments of the patient's body provide the quaternions representing the patient segments's orientation in space. We performed 3D motion capture using the quaternion data calculated. And a method is also proposed for calculating three-dimensional inter-segment joint angle which is an important bio-mechanical measure for a variety of applications related to rehabilitation. To evaluate the performance of our AHRS module, the Vicon motion capture system, which offers millimeter resolution of 3D spatial displacements and orientations, is used as a reference. The evaluation resulted in a RMSE of 2.56 degree. The results suggest that our system will provide an in-depth insight into the effectiveness, appropriate level of care, and feedback of the rehabilitation process by performing real-time limbs or gait analysis during the post-stroke recovery process.

  • In this paper, we present an inertial sensor-based gait analysis system to measure and analyze lower-limb movements. We developed an integral AHRS(Attitude Heading Reference System) using a combination of rate gyroscope, accelerometer and magnetometer sensor signals. Several AHRS modules mounted on segments of the patient's body provide the quaternions representing the patient segments's orientation in space. The evaluation resulted in a RMSE(Root Mean Square Error) of 1.08 and 1.72 degree in yaw and pitch angle. In order to evaluate the performance of our the gait analysis system, we compared the joint angle for the hip, knee and ankle with those provided by Vicon system. The result shows that our system will provide an in-depth insight into the effectiveness, appropriate level of care, and feedback of the rehabilitation process by performing real-time limb or gait analysis during the post-stroke recovery.

  • A flight simulator is composed of engine, navigation systems and instrument modules. However, two problems exist here. First, the coordinate of each independent module is not same. To solve this problem, we design a method that mutual coordinates are capable of transformation each other. Second, the distance and bearing between two points on the earth are computed in a sphere shape using the spherical trigonometry. However, the computing time is very severe. In this paper, we project the sphere into the planar to reduce the computing time. An experimental result shows that the performance of the proposed method is excellent to both distance and bearing calculations in close region. Also, the computing time is reduced from $4.95{\times}10^{-4}$ seconds to $1.648{\times}10^{-4}$ seconds.

  • The receiver of this paper is Dual-band monopulse type for prototype of tracking radar. Localization of radar technology is an issue of SamsungThales and go into development. Dual-band radar in comparison with Single-band radar requires higher cost and power consumption but there are many advantages of dealing with jamming, detection range, image signal rejection, cloud-rain influence, clutter, resolution. The receiver is comprised of X-band RF head module, Ka-band RF head module and common IF module. Each signal of X-band and Ka-band is selected by the switch in If module. Phase shifter in IF module of local stage controls the phase of sum, azimuth, elevation channel. In the test result, gain is $40{\pm}3 dB$, isolation of transmitter/receiver is 39 dBc, dynamic range is 110 dB and noise figure of each channel is 4.5dB and 6.9dB.

  • Tilt sensors are mainly used to measure the collapse of structures such as buildings, bridges and tunnels. Recently, due to the ease of use and low price, many tilt sensors using MEMS sensors have been used, but the measurement angle range is limited, and thus, they do not have high precision for 360 degree. This is due to the inherent offset and scale errors of MEMS sensors. In this paper, we proposed an algorithm for the calculation of precision angles to reduce the mechanical error of MEMS sensors, and produced a MEMS sensor module and a transmission module to compare the angle accuracy of sensor modules before calibration and the angle measurement accuracy after calibration. Experimental results show that the proposed technique has a precision of ± 0.015 degrees for all 360-degree.

  • In 2008, the global photovoltaic(PV) market reached 5.6GW and the cumulative PV power installed totalled almost 15GW compared to 9GW in 2007. Due to a favourable feed-in-tariff, Korea emerged in 2008 as the 4th largest PV market worldwide. PV power installation rose 495.5 percent to 268MW in 2008 compare to 45MW in 2007. However many PV systems are not installed in suitable part which is concerned about geometrical factor. It is generally recognized that the actual output of PV system in field is a function of orientation, tilt angle, irradiance, temperature, soiling and various system-related losses. Thus this paper shows that a experimental result of PV modules(A group) with uniform azimuth angle and PV modules(B group) with non-uniform azimuth angle. As a result, the electrical output of B group is decreased 48.8% as compared with electrical output of A group.

  • Recently, hydraulic fracturing is used in various fields and microseismic monitoring is one of the best methods for judging where hydraulic fractures exist and how they are developing. When locating microseismic events using single vertical well data, distances from the vertical array and depths from the surface are generally decided using time differences between compressional (P) wave and shear (S) wave arrivals and azimuths are calculated using P wave hodogram analysis. However, in field data, it is sometimes hard to acquire P wave data which has smaller amplitude than S wave because microseismic data often have very low signal to noise (S/N) ratio. To overcome this problem, in this study, we developed a grid search algorithm which can find event location using all combinations of arrival times recorded at receivers. In addition, we introduced and analyzed the method which calculates azimuths using S wave. The tests of synthetic data show the inversion method using all combinations of arrival times and receivers can locate events without considering the origin time even using only single phase. In addition, the method can locate events with higher accuracy and has lower sensitivity on first arrival picking errors than conventional method. The method which calculates azimuths using S wave can provide reliable results when the dip between event and receiver is relatively small. However, this method shows the limitation when dip is greater than about $20^{\circ}$ in our model test.
