A Heterogeneous-carrier Selectable Routing Scheme Based on Normalized Location and Transmission Characteristics (MCS-NLTC) for Multi-carrier MANETs at Sea (다중매체로 이루어진 해상 자율망에서 이종 매체 선택이 가능하고 정규화된 위치와 전송특성에 의한 라우팅)

  • A routing scheme called MCS-NLTC using a self-configuration marine network model and the diversity and heterogeneity of broadband wireless access technologies is newly proposed. The MCS-NLTC algorithm selects optimal nodes and carriers for every hop in optimal routes based on not conventional hop counts but normalized distances to destination ships (location information of destination ships). Normalized transmission characteristics of applications and carriers are considered to get optimal routes as well. The location information enhances convergence speed to get destinations, which makes the route search time faster. Evaluated performances are compared with those of the schemes based on max-win (OMH-MW), and normalized transmission characteristics (MCS-NTC).

MetaCube : A New Skeletal Element for Modeling Informal Objects (메타큐브 : 부정형 물체의 모델링을 위한 새로운 구조 요소)

  • In Computer Graphics, to select the element for modeling is very important in aspect of real-time processing of photorealistic images. Especially in modeling of informal objects, the criteria of choice are such as the minimum number of data, the easy rendering technique, and the expansibility. The metaball model which is one of the methods for modeling the implicit surface is excellent in modeling the complicated surface with a few data. However, a greater number of data are required for modeling objects that consist of planar surfaces with metaballs than with polygons. In this paper, we propose the new skeletal element, metacube which has the merits of metaball and improves the modeling ability of informal objects containing planar surfaces. A metacube has two parameters to change freely its shape from the cube to the sphere and can easily do the modeling of objects with curved surfaces and plane surfaces.

A Mesh Watermarking Using Patch CEGI (패치 CEGI를 이용한 메쉬 워터마킹)

  • We proposed a blind watermarking for 3D mesh model using the patch CEGIs. The CEGI is the 3D orientation histogram with complex weight whose magnitude is the mesh area and phase is the normal distance of the mesh from the designated origin. In the proposed algorithm we divide the 3D mesh model into the number of patch that determined adaptively to the shape of model and calculate the patch CEGIs. Some cells for embedding the watermark are selected according to the rank of their magnitudes in each of patches after calculating the respective magnitude distributions of CEGI for each patches of a mesh model. Each of the watermark bit is embedded into cells with the same rank in these patch CEGI. Based on the patch center point and the rank table as watermark key, watermark extraction and realignment process are performed without the original mesh. In the rotated model, we perform the realignment process using Euler angle before the watermark extracting. The results of experiment verify that the proposed algorithm is imperceptible and robust against geometrical attacks of cropping, affine transformation and vertex randomization as well as topological attacks of remeshing and mesh simplification.

  • For the purpose of producing of grid D.E.M based on National Digital Map accurately and efficiently, We must carefully consider arrangement and numbers of it's elevation information, supplement interpolation method of control point information for maintaining accuracy. According to each combination, each of them has an effect on estimate elevations. This study, after finishing experimental analysis of several grid distance and interpolation methods, aims at presenting the optimal grid distance and interpolation method in the production of grid D.E.M by using of National Digital Map. The results are as follows: First, The result of experimental analysis shows that the method of Kriging is a very excellent interpolation method in the production of grid D.E. M by using National Digital Map. Second, For the purpose of determining grid distance, this study present that twice of the amount of contour interval to make producing grid D.E.M is optimal distance.

  • The psychoacoustic model in MPEG audio layer-III (MP3) encoder is optimized for the fixed-point processing. The optimization process consists of determining the data word length of arithmetic unit and the algorithm for transcendental functions that are often used in the psychoacoustic model. In order to determine the data word length, we defined a statistical model expressing the relation between the fixed-point operation errors of the psychoacoustic model and the probability of alteration of the allocated bits doe to these errors. Based on the simulations using this model, we chose a 24-bit data path and constructed a 24-bit fixed-point MP3 encoder. Sound quality tests using the constructed fixed-point encoder showed a mean degradation of -0.2 on ITU-R 5-point audio impairment scale.

  • 집중호우의 증가는 저수지 내 탁수의 증가로 이어지며, 저수지에서의 탁수 배제는 하천의 탁수 문제로 연결될 수 있다. 탁수의 발생은 정수처리 비용 증가와 하천 생태계 문제 등을 발생시키므로, 이에 대한 해결책이 지속적으로 요구되고 있다. 특히 낙동강 유역의 임하호는 태풍 및 집중호우 발생 시 고탁수의 유입 빈도가 높다. 탁수가 임하호에 유입되면 일반적으로 저수지 탁수 예측 수치해석을 수행하여 탁수의 저수지 내 탁수 거동과 방류량에 따른 탁수 저감 정도를 파악하고, 탁수 배제를 위한 저수지 운영계획을 수립한다. 그러나 방류된 고탁수의 하천 거동에 대한 수치해석은 국내에서는 수행하고 있지 않은 실정이다. 임하댐 하류에서 내성천합류부까지는 약 0.325 m3/s의 물을 취수하고 있으므로(2022년 기준), 하천의 탁수도 저수지 탁수와 동시에 고려되어야 할 필요가 있다. 저수지와 하천의 유사 거동 분석에 대해 격자 구성 등의 이유로 일반적으로 각각 다른 tool을 사용하고 있으나, 모델구축 및 입□출력 data의 변환 등 구축, 구동, 분석 과정 모두 효율적이지 못하다. 이에 본 연구에서는 하천과 저수지에서의 탁수 거동을 동시에 예측할 수 있는 일원화된 수치해석 모델을 구축(임하호~낙본C)하였다. 준3차원 모델인 EFDC를 이용하였으며, 격자는 저수지는 직사각격자, 하천은 Curvlinear를 적용하였다. 연직방향으로는 저수지와 하천의 수심 차이가 크므로 EFDC 내에 탑재되어 있는 𝜎-z(uniform)레이어 옵션을 선택하여, 저수지 연직 레이어는 40개, 하천은 2개로 구축되었다. 하천에서의 탁수 거동 예측은 지류의 유량, 탁도 등의 경계조건 data를 얻기가 쉽지 않기 때문에, 유량은 임하호 유입유량에 유역면적비를 적용하였으며, 탁도는 TSS(Total Suspended Solid)-SSC(Suspended Sediment Concentration)-유량의 관계를 각각 회귀분석 등을 통해 도출하여 연구 범위 내 7개 지류하천에 적용하였다. 모의 시기는 2개의 태풍으로 연속적인 탁수가 발생한 2020년 08~10월로 결정하였다. 모의 결과 저수지와 하천의 PBIAS는 각각 13.6과 8.4로(Very Good 등급) 하천과 저수지를 동시에 모의하는 탁수 예측의 적용 가능성은 충분한 것으로 확인되었다. 그러나 이벤트별 지류의 유량과 탁도는 일정한 관계로 계산될 수 없으므로, 향후 유역 모델과 연계하여 지류 유입 유량 및 탁도의 정확도를 개선할 것이다.

Development of Prediction Model for the Na Content of Leaves of Spring Potatoes Using Hyperspectral Imagery (초분광 영상을 이용한 봄감자의 잎 Na 함량 예측 모델 개발)

  • In this study, the leaf Na content prediction model for spring potato was established using 400-1000 nm hyperspectral sensor to develop the multispectral sensor for the salinity monitoring in reclaimed land. The irrigation conditions were standard, drought, and salinity (2, 4, 8 dS/m), and the irrigation amount was calculated based on the amount of evaporation. The leaves' Na contents were measured 1st and 2nd weeks after starting irrigation in the vegetative, tuber formative, and tuber growing periods, respectively. The reflectance of the leaves was converted from 5 nm to 10 nm, 25 nm, and 50 nm of FWHM (full width at half maximum) based on the 10 nm wavelength intervals. Using the variance importance in projections of partial least square regression(PLSR-VIP), ten band ratios were selected as the variables to predict salinity damage levels with Na content of spring potato leaves. The MLR(Multiple linear regression) models were estimated by removing the band ratios one by one in the order of the lowest weight among the ten band ratios. The performance of models was compared by not only R2, MAPE but also the number of band ratios, optimal FWHM to develop the compact multispectral sensor. It was an advantage to use 25 nm of FWHM to predict the amount of Na in leaves for spring potatoes during the 1st and 2nd weeks vegetative and tuber formative periods and 2 weeks tuber growing periods. The selected bandpass filters were 15 bands and mainly in red and red-edge regions such as 430/440, 490/500, 500/510, 550/560, 570/580, 590/600, 640/650, 650/660, 670/680, 680/690, 690/700, 700/710, 710/720, 720/730, 730/740 nm.

  • Optimal shape of a typical ramjet intake is examined numerically to maximize the total pressure recovery. A response surface method is introduced to approximately predict its performance with respect to the design parameters over the each design domain. The first deflection angle of ramp, the area of inlet throat, and the diffuser angle are chosen as a design parameter. ANOVA is used to verify the trustability of the achieved response surface. The total pressure recovery of the optimum model, compared to that of the base model, is increased by 36%. The loss of viscosity through the diffuser is estimated less than 5%.

  • Performing the sensitivity analysis of contact conduction on the basis of the thermal model already established, the study of thermal design is accomplished for the preparation of the future changes of mechanical interface design. A relatively simple thermal model is taken into consideration for the convenience of the analysis. A variety of the spacecraft bus voltages and the contact resistances are tried. As a consequence, when the mechanical interface condition is changed at the same module, the successful thermal design could be achieved if we design the heater to have sufficiently large power with reference to the heritage of contact resistance.

  • In this paper, we develope the simulation model for Ethernet passive optical networks (Ethernet-PON) by using OPNET. Ethernet-PON is an emerging access network technology that provides a low-cost method of deploying optical access lines. The simulator uses a Request/Grant TDMA MAC protocol based on IEEE 802.3ah EFM. It also executes registration, ranging and dynamic bandwidth allocation algorithm by exchanging control packets between OLT and ONUs. We have evaluated for success ratio of initial registration process and delay of late registration process. We also have simulated for dynamic TDMA protocol and static TDMA protocol in terms of channel utilization and queueing delay. We expect that this simulator can help to determine various parameters which are considered for designing Ethernet-PON system.
