  • ERC-20, the standard API for Ethereum token smart contracts, was introduced to ensure compatibility among applications such as wallets and decentralized exchanges. However, many compatibility vulnerability problems have existed because there is no rigorous functional specifications for each API nor conformance review tools for the standard. In this paper, we proposed a new review procedure and a tool to perform the procedure to review if ERC-20 token smart contract programs for the Ethereum blockchain conform to the de facto standards. Based on the knowledge from an analysis on the ERC-20 API functional behavior of the top 100 token smart contract programs in the existing Ethereum blockchain, a new specification for the de facto standard for ERC-20 API was explicitly defined. The new specification enabled us to design a systematic review method for Ethereum smart contract programs. We developed a tool to support this review method and we evaluated a few benchmark programs with the tool.

  • This study focuses on Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) as a theoretical perspective to provide education that enables adolescent students to understand themselves, establish healthy relationships with others, and form a healthy community. The meaning of learning and core competencies were analyzed. Results showed that the core competencies of SEL were all included in the nature, goals, subject competencies, core concepts, generalized knowledge, and achievement standards of the 2015 revised Home Economics Education (HEE) Curriculum. The implications for this are: First, the core competencies of SEL can be sufficiently cultivated through explicit education in HE classes without introducing a separate SEL program in the school field. Second, since HEE is a subject that emphasizes practice, the competencies of SEL can be applied in connection with actual life outside of school. Lastly, the effectiveness of SEL can be increased through HEE because the goals of SEL, which emphasize the connection between parents and the creation of healthy and safe community, are similar to the goals of HEE.

  • With the increasing socio-economic value of an open collaboration over the Internet, it has become significantly important to successfully manage open source software development program. Most of the previous research have focused on various factors that influence the performance of the project, but studies on how the project owners recognized as "leader" affect the outcome of the project are very limited. This research investigates how individual and governance characteristics of an owner influences the performance of project based on impression formation and social capital theory. For a data set, we collect 611 Repositories and the owner's data from the open source development platform Github, and we form knowledge sharing network of an each repository by using social network analysis. We use hierarchical regression analysis, and our results show that a leader, who exposes a lot of one's personal information or who has actively followed and showed interests to communicate with other developers, affects positive impacts on project performance. A leader who has a high centrality in knowledge sharing network also positively affects on project performance. On the other hand, if a leader was highly willing to accept external knowledge or is recognized as an expert in the community with large numbers of followers, the result show negative impacts on project performance. The research may serve as a useful guideline not only for the future open source software projects but also for the effective management of different types of open collaboration.

  • In the world of Web pages, there are oceans of documents in natural language texts and tables. To extract rules from Web pages and maintain consistency between them, we have developed the framework of XRML(extensible Rule Markup Language). XRML allows the identification of rules on Web pages and generates the identified rules automatically. For this purpose, we have designed the Rule Identification Markup Language (RIML) that is similar to the formal Rule Structure Markup Language (RSML), both as pares of XRML. RIML is designed to identify rules not only from texts, but also from tables on Web pages, and to transform to the formal rules in RSは syntax automatically. While designing RIML, we considered the features of sharing variables and values, omitted terms, and synonyms. Using these features, rules can be identified or changed once, automatically generating their corresponding RSML rules. We have conducted an experiment to evaluate the effect of the RIML approach with real world Web pages of Amazon.com, BamesandNoble.com, and Powells.com We found that $97.7\%$ of the rules can be detected on the Web pages, and the completeness of generated rule components is $88.5\%$. This is good proof that XRML can facilitate the extraction and maintenance of rules from Web pages while building expert systems in the Semantic Web environment.

  • In this study, we analyzed science teachers' NOS-PCK in Science Inquiry Experiment lessons. Four science teachers in charge of Science Inquiry Experiment in high schools located in the Seoul metropolitan area participated in the study. NOS Lessons were observed, all of the teaching-learning materials were collected, and semi-structured interviews were conducted. All the collected data were analyzed according to five factors of NOS-PCK. As a result of the study, their understanding and consideration of the curriculum related to NOS were insufficient in some cases. They thought that given inquiry activities or textbook composition was not effective for NOS teaching so that they actively reconstructed the curriculum. In terms of teaching strategies, their lessons were close to explicit approaches. However reflective approaches were generally lacking. They were neglected in evaluating NOS for reasons that views of NOS are individually subjective or that NOS is not an area of cognitive learning. They guessed the state of students by relying on their own experiences rather than based on evaluation results. They recognized a specific aspect of values of NOS learning. And intention to teach NOS played an important role throughout their classes. Based on the above results, we discuss some ways to improve the professionalism of science teachers for NOS teaching.

  • In this study, we analyzed the influences of lecture design using CoRe upon the professor's teaching professionalism in the aspects of pedagogical content knowledge (PCK). The participants are three professors from the college of science-engineering located in Chungcheong-do. After collecting their syllabi, we observed their lecture and conducted the orientation. Afterward, we collected the CoRes which they prepared before the lecture. Then we observed their lecture and conducted semi-structured interviews. This process was carried out twice. We analyzed their syllabi, CoRes, videotaped lectures, field notes, the teaching materials, and interview transcripts. The results revealed that professors not only clarified the learning objectives and the characteristics of students but also reflected them in the lecture. In addition, they established the teaching strategies according to the characteristics of contents in the unit. As they recognized the necessity of understanding students' achievement, they selected the assessment method and applied it in the lecture. In some cases, however, they lacked presenting learning objectives specifically and explained students' misconceptions without inducing new concepts. They also presented a shortage of considering students' prior knowledge. They lacked providing students with an opportunity to participate in lectures, and their assessment method was not effective. Based on the results, we discussed implications to improve teaching professionalism using CoRe.

  • Since socioscientific issues (SSI) reflect various characteristics of new technologies designed to meet the incessant human needs in the contemporary society, this study explores the feasibility of adapting nature of technology (NOT) to analyze students' socioscientific decision-making. To achieve the aim, forty-five college students enrolled in a liberal arts course on science and technology studies participated in the study and responded to a GMO (golden rice) scenario in a written form. Four major viewpoints were identified from their writing: 1) is the technological artifact able to solve a societal problem?, 2) are there some alternatives to solve the societal problem?, 3) what kinds of side effects or flaws could turn up during distribution and consumption of the technological artifact?, and 4) can we cope with the technological uncertainty? We revisited the viewpoints within the NOT framework (technology as a 'fix,' cultural context and role of values, technological trade-offs, technology as a system, and technological progression). As a result, unlike NOS, NOT were quite explicitly represented in their decision-making and students' level of understanding on NOT varied. It indicates that NOT can be a promising construct for cultivating informed SSI decision-making.

  • Our team carried out a new program for public engagement on nanotechnology in Korea. We chose 22 monitors, who majored in science or technology and graduated from universities long time ago. Most of them were married and housewives. This 'focus group' had not only general knowledge about science or technology but also much interest in social activities. The 167 nanoproducts to be monitored were for daily life, e.g. home appliances (washing machine, refrigerator, water purifier, etc), clothing, cosmetics, food, toy, and others. And the period of it was one month. The monitors had a sheet with 10 questions, and filled them out in essay form. All of them submitted 2~3 sheets every weekend to our team. Before monitoring, our team had a meeting for introduction and explanation about the potential risk of nanotechnology as well as benefits from it. Another meeting was held after finishing monitoring to share their experience one another. The main results of the monitoring were as follows: the number of nanoproducts describing both the definition of 'nano' and the size of nanomaterials was just 2 (1.2%) the number of them explaining the technical methods enough was 15 (9/0%) the number of them accounting for the reason of functional improvement enough was 14(8.4%); the number of them doubtful as if there would be exaggeration or false knowledge was 27 (16.2%); the number of them commenting potential hazards to human health or environment was almost zero; the number of them describing about safety certification acceptable was 9 (5.4%). The monitors made a proposal containing recommendation to Government and industry. The contents were as follows: industry should make the manual in detail and correctly, Describe Certificate detailed and correctly, Do research on risk and toxicity continually, Educate employee about nanoproducts at consumer's center; Government should make indication of nanoproducts compulsory, Appoint Certificate Authority and make Certificate Mark guaranteeing the safety on nanoproducts, Make detailed explanation about nanoproducts compulsory.
