  • This study was to understand "flow" that has been very popular in the area of phenomenology and to interpret it from the perspectives of mathematics education to activate its use in mathematics education. The flow is the state in which people are so involved in an activity that nothing else seems to matter; the experience itself is so enjoyable that people will do it for the sheer sake of doing it. If anyone in society can experience with training how to get into flow, students should have chances to experience flow included in high-order thinking in order to have better fuality of life and to be confident problem solvers in the future.

  • Deleuze and Guattari revive the educational meaning of training. For them, "a violent training" always penetrates unconsciousness and consciousness. For example, we can float on water only by swimming. There is a complex historical exploration on the subject of training. Socrates distinguishes the training of spirit from that of the body, so he secures the independence of educational language. This heritage continues to us until today. However, Foucault argues that, since the modern era, humans have accepted an active obedience by "disciplinary training". Nowadays, the term "skill discipline" is also reduced to business language, and we should overcome this situation. Deleuze and Guattari suggest a "becoming-other" argument predicated on "pre-conscious singularities" on this point. The training of spirit evolves in relation to a body and other circumstance for them. Therefore, the traditional hierarchy between spirit and body is erased in their argument. Ironically, this argument displays "educational effectiveness" to success Socrates's heritage subverting to the modern thinking of it. In conclusion, we can now rethink the educational value of training based on this effectiveness. Kyudo training is an excellent example of education through body and spirit.

  • The purpose of this study is the construction and internal validation of DT ISD model that incorporates Design Thinking process into Instructional Systems Design. The study proceeded in 3 steps. Firstly, literature review was conducted to examine the process and components of Instructional Systems Design model such as ADDIE. Design Thinking models were also reviewed to determine the probability of integrating Design Thinking with ISD. Secondly, DT ISD model was constructed by adopting 3 principles of Design Thinking to ISD process. Thirdly, the internal validation research was conducted through 3 rounds delphi study and DT ISD model was finally validated by experts of instructional technology and lifelong education. DT ISD model is based upon constructionism in learning theory rather than behavioral or cognitive learning theory such as ADDIE. Hence, DT ISD model is an effective instructional design model for adult lifelong education program. It is suggested that action research is necessary to examine the external validation of DT ISD model.

  • The aim of this study was to improve the 'self-directed learning ability and attitudeselementary school students by applying a brain education-based learning program based on brain science in the form of a short term camp in consideration of the elementary school students' brain characteristics and mechanisms. For this purpose, this study was conducted on 4, 5, and 6 elementary school students in Korea. The brain training based learning camp program was conducted for two nights and three days. The camps were conducted twice from February 3 to 5, 2017 with 45 students from grade 6 and from February 22 to July 24, 2017, with 56 students from grades 4 and 5, 101 students in total. The conclusions of this study are as follows. The brain education-based learning camp program was found to be effective in improving the elementary school students' self-directed learning ability and learning attitude. First, the brain education-based learning camp program can increase the learning concentration through brain gymnastics, breathing, and meditation. Second, brain training called 'Brain Screen' among the brain education-based learning camp program can improve the brain ability of memory. Third, it can establish a self - directed learning philosophy of 'My study is done by me' by giving reason and motivation to study through the brain education-based learning camp program.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate how the noble eight fold oriented meditation activities(NEFOM) interacts with young children's development of morality and sociability. This research has 56 participants aged 5 with a control group of 28 young children and another group with 28 kids. The instrument is a meditation program consisted with 10 training sessions; the noble eight fold was intensively applied and encouraged the participants to think of the behaviors that are desired in this theoretical framework. For the purpose, the research questions are as follows: First, are there effects of NEFOM on the morality of preschoolers. Second, are there effects of NEFOM on the sociality of preschooler. Main findings of this study can be summarized as follows: First, NEFOM can improve preschoolers' morality in a sense of making a decision based upon its right and wrong in intentions, rather than immediate gain and loss as a consequence of their actions. Second, NEFOM can facilitate sociability by providing some opportunities to feel joy, happiness, tranquility, and hopeful emotions, instead of negative feelings of depression, stress, and aggressiveness. Furthermore, it can suggest concrete behavioral directions for them. To summarize, the meditation activities designed by the eight principles of the noble eight fold have strong educational potential to facilitate seeking the foundations of mindsets and thus have positive impacts on young children's morality and sociability by encouraging them to think through the principles and concrete directions for the behaviors.
