  • The purpose of this study is to investigate a fundamental model for categories and relationships among concepts in library and information science field in order to construct an ontology based upon the knowledge construct of human being. Questionnaire and interview were involved for this study, The results shows that students' knowledge structure was different from KDC and DDC schemes. Students had an object oriented knowledge structure and provided four relationship models. These model could provide a fundamental data for ontology construction. Also, it shows that student academic grades influenced their knowledge structures.

Five researchers collaboratively interviewed five groups of stake-holders. Each group was consisted of practitioners in central government agencies, provincial governments, and educational district offices, as well as instructors of archival education programs. To uncover diverse issues from various perspectives, the interview was initiated by a common question: "Do you have any idea in terms of revising the current law?" After all interview sessions were completed, the researchers discussed among themselves and established a framework for analysis. The study is expected to provide a starting point for the Korean archival community to reinvent the law so that the archival culture and practice in Korea could open a new era.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the types and functions of observations at the stage of child assessment. We can use various methods of evaluation. It includes observation, interview, and standardized tests. Most of occupational therapist using sensory integrative approach usually evaluate their clients based on observations especially in the period of initial assessment. The accurate observation is closely connected with reliability and validity of the assessment. Here present some types of observation and the things we should check in ordinary observing moments. It will be considerable aspect when we study how to improve observation ability of the therapists in the future.

  • Witnesses will be exposed to a variety of misinformation after the witnessing of the event and state at the scene of the investigation after the delay period. This study was conducted to promote correct recall reporting without being affected by factors that against correct recall. Self-Administered Interview(SAI) is known to obtain eyewitness accounts quickly and accurately. Therefore, we performed a SAI to see if it reported more information than the control group that did not perform the SAI. Also, it also performed that correct information was maintained without being affected by misinformation and delay. Eighty-eight participants were asked to perform SAI or game after showing a video of mock crime. Misinformation was presented in the first or second session to see if it affected recall. An analysis of responses from the final test conducted in the second session by participants showed that groups that conducted SAI after a four-week delay reported more correct information than control groups, while there was no difference between incorrect- and confabulation information. In particular, the timing of presenting misinformation did not affect the amount of recall. This suggests that conducting the SAI immediately after witnessing the event protects correct information even after four weeks. Finally, the significance and limitations of this study, and subsequent studies were discussed.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate elementary teachers' views on the barriers in implementing inquiry-based instruction in science education. For this, semi-structured in-depth interviews were performed with 22 elementary school teachers who have served for more than five years in the Gyeonggi province. The interview questions were developed through triangulation of Seidman's phase to achieve reliability in the interview data, then interview questions were modified and completed through an analytic induction method in pre-interviews. In-depth interviews were performed individually and all the interviews were recorded. The data of teachers' views on the barriers were categorized and analyzed into external and internal factors of teachers. The study found that the external factors referred by teachers included the following; the lack of a unit time, lack of materials and equipments, too many students in a class, problems in science curriculum management, difficulty in the assessment of students' inquiry activities, the students' learning, lack of opportunities for teaching inquiry activities, harmfulness of accidents, and so on. Internal factors included the following; lack of preparation for inquiry activities, lack of self-confidence, lack of patience, and so on. The various barriers presented and their causes were analyzed in detail, and possible efforts in activating inquiry activities in elementary science education were suggested.

  • The purpose of this study was to explore practical meanings of convergence education and to seek ways of implementing it in school science education. The study adopted focus group interview method in order to elicit science teachers' perceptions and practical knowledge related to various ways of integrating educational aims and contents from the perspectives of science education. Two focus group interviews were held with four science teachers with the themes of the concept and potential of convergence education, and the implementation and systemic support, respectively. The qualitative data was analyzed by deriving major themes comprising teachers' perception on convergence education: they are 1) related concepts and rationales, 2) contents, methods, and assessment, 3) the characteristics of the science subject that make it suitable for convergent education, 4) teacher perception and professionalism required for implementing convergent education, and finally 5) environmental conditions for putting the idea into practice. Based on this result, the study discusses conceptual and practical issues for implementing convergence education in ways that contribute to overcoming the problems of the traditional educational system and reorienting science education towards the future society.
