Recently, with the development of virtual and augmented reality technology, metaverse is emerging as a new paradigm that will lead the next-generation internet era, and social and economic activities are spreading around the game, entertainment, music, and content industries. Moreover, as non-face-to-face conversion accelerated after the outbreak of COVID-19, lifestyles and industrial sites are becoming untact and further rapidly becoming a metaverse. In particular, the application of metaverse to the education field is attracting attention because realistic classes using real-time voice conversations using avatars, 3D objects, and 360-degree images can increase immersion and overcome the limitations of distance education. This study examines the concept of metaverse and examines that education using metaverse can be an alternative that can increase the efficiency of education in the non-face-to-face era. In particular, it shows that it is effective in language education and suggests an actual metaverse-based Korea language education program.

The Grid is new infrastructure to provide computing environment for grand challenge research by sharing large-scale resources. Currently the Globus becomes a de facto standard middleware to construct Grid and supports core services such as resource management, security, data transfer, information services, and so on. However, it still needs more works and researches to satisfy requirements from various grid applications. A workflow management is becoming a main service as one of the important grid services for complex grid applications. We propose a Meta Scheduling Framework (MSF) in this paper. The MSF provides a XML-based Job Control Markup Language (JCML) for describing information and procedures of grid applications, and a workflow management service for scheduling the job using the JCML and for processing the job effectively.

Libraries, not only research libraries but also public libraries, have been fundamentally affected by the immense spread of the Internet and the World Wide Web. Many public libraries have their Web pages, through which they are providing their new and conventional services. There are also web sites which provide library-like services. This paper shows an experimental project named Internet Public Library Asia, which provides information in multiple languages of information resources published in Chinese, Japanese and Korean languages. This paper firstly overviews how traditional public libraries have been affected by the Internet. Then, it describes a few aspects from the viewpoint of crucial library function on the Internet and also from the viewpoint of Asian resources and users. This paper secondly proposes a model to serve information about valuable resources published in multiple Asian languages, and then shows the metadata schema and a few software tools developed for IPL-Asia The name of IPL is borrowed from Internet Public Library based at University of Michigan, since it is, in part, a collaborative activity with the IPL in Michigan. The metadata schema is defined based both on Dublin Core and IEEE LOM and adapted for parallel description in the four languages, i. e. , Chinese, Japanese, Korean and English. The software tools provide functions to support collaboration among people engaged in development of metadata database and metadata editing. These tools have been developed based on the XML technologies.

XML은 임의 형태 문서, 임의 응용에 대해 일반화 마크업(Markup)을 정의하기 위한 방법을 표준화하는 메타 언어(Meta Language)로서 기술적 문서 마크업을 생성하는 기법과 문서의 지능적 내용이나 체계를 정의하기 위한 언어를 제공하며, 다양한 응용들 사이에 구조화된 데이터를 상호 교환하기 위한 도구와 다양한 입력으로부터 출력의 내용, 구조, 조직을 표준화하기 위한 방법을 제공한다.

기존의 외곽선 방식을 사용해 폰트의 스타일을 바꾸기 위해서는 제작과 동일한 시간과 비용이 소비된다. 메타폰트는 글자의 뼈대를 펜으로 채우는 방식으로 폰트를 표현하여 펜의 모양만 바꾸어도 글자의 스타일을 쉽게 바꿀 수 있다. 하지만 메타폰트는 프로그래밍 언어로 제공되기 때문에 관련 지식이 없는 폰트 디자이너와 일반 사용자들이 사용하기 어렵다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 한글의 특징을 기반으로 하는 한글 매개변수를 추출하여 메타폰트로 만든 한글 글꼴 생성 프로그램에 적용한 후, GUI를 제공하여 손쉽게 한글 폰트를 편집할 수 있는 메타폰트 편집기를 제안한다.

This paper is to suggest designing and implementing tool by transforming source code to meta language. We use formula, which is based on relationship between variables and functions, in class extraction and restructuring method in other to extract most appropriate class.

Subjective cognitive-linguistic complaints in older adults contribute to the diagnostic and prognostic investigation of MCI or dementia. However, the utility of subjective test for predicting cognitive-linguistic decline is controversial. Few domestic studies have included the correlation between subjective and objective tests systematically. The current study analyzed 26 studies published since 2000, and the effect sizes of their correlation coefficients between two tests were computed. The results of qualitative analysis indicated that the number of subjects ranged from 26 to 657. Subjective tests included the self-report 75.4% and the informant-report 24.6%. In objective tests, memory comprised the largest proportion, followed by global cognition, and language, etc. As a result of meta-analysis, self-report test had the predictive value for dementia, and informant-report test contributed to discriminate among 3 groups. In the elderly group, self-report test was correlated with reasoning, and informant-report test with memory and language. In MCIs, self-report test predicted several abilities including language, and informant-report test signaled the future decline of domains like global cognition. Two types of subjective tests in dementia also represented memory, language, and global cognition accurately. This study provides evidence-based information to support relationships between subjective and objective tests for cognitive-linguistic ability in 3 groups.

오늘날 폰트를 디자인하는데 주로 사용되는 외곽선 방식은 글자의 크기를 손쉽게 변경할 수 있으나 글자의 굵기나 스타일을 변화시키려면 다시 수작업을 통해서 디자인을 변경해야 한다. 이를 보완하기 위한 프로그래머블 폰트인 메타폰트는 매개변수를 사용하여 글자의 변화가 매우 용이하다. 하지만 메타폰트는 프로그래밍 언어이므로 메타폰트에 대한 선행학습이 필요하여 폰트 디자이너에게 사용되지 않았다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 폰트 디자이너에게 익숙한 외곽선 방식에 편집기를 제공하면서 글자의 스타일에 대한 변화를 메타폰트에서 처리하여 다양한 폰트를 파생할 수 있는 한글 외곽선 폰트 시스템을 제안한다. 이를 위하여 본 시스템에서는 외곽선 방식의 폰트를 제작할 수 있도록 하는 웹 외곽선 폰트 편집기를 구현하였으며 외곽선 방식의 폰트를 메타폰트로 변환하는 UFO2mf를 구현하였다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 폰트 시스템은 기존 외곽선 방식의 스타일 변화에 대한 수고를 덜어줄 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

This paper describes the major components of ISO/IEC 11179 metadata registry (MDR) standard designed to promote data interoperability between systems, explains and discusses semantic web technology and Web ontology languages initiated by W3C that can be employed to further enhance data interoperability, and finally proposes a framework for a new RDF/OWL-based MDR to convert from the current human-readable MDR to machine-readable MDR. If the new MDR is successful, we might be able to offer a better customized information service to users. The future research will be concerned with evaluating objectively the effectiveness of machine-readable MDR in meeting the needs of real users.

The principle of human perception, behavior, and thought is presented in the traditional interface design study that is ease to use and increase the learn-ability. We believe that the usability is related to user's affection. The goal of this paper is to investigate how visual metaphor works in usability and affection in interface to analyse the effect of visual metaphor to user affection. Literature reviews for the concept of metaphor and affection design conducted. We analyse the effect to user's affection through think-aloud i.e. protocol analysis for metaphor.
