This study aims to design the metadata elements for managing and maintaining digitized records resulting from digitization. The digitized records were first defined and characterized, then assigned as copies and surrogates for source records. Next, the factors to be considered when designing metadata elements for digitized records were determined by comparing standards from different countries like the United States and the United Kingdom. As a result of the comparison, establishing a relationship between digitized records and source records, expanding the automatically extracted metadata elements following resource characteristics, and creating metadata for digitization processes and projects were set to be the key tasks of metadata design for managing digitized records. Furthermore, the metadata elements for digital records and digitization processes were designed individually, and the elements to be added for each entity were proposed by referring to standards from other counties.

Metadata standardization of resources, having a heterogeneous metadata structure for each presidential archive and presidential library and museum is preferentially required for utilizing and sharing presidential records. An integrated operation model of metadata to manage various types of presidential records is then needed. The purpose of this study is to create a design principle of integrated metadata, and to suggest relationships and attributes of metadata, needed for developing integrated metadata operation system on presidential records. The design principle includes "creation of relationship among presidential records", "design of each entity, applicable multiple entity data model", "design to describe various types of presidential records", "design to reflect lifelong management on records of holding institutes", and "designing hybrid metadata for long term preservation". Metadata element set consists of elements for common attributes with all types of presidential records for a unique attribute for a specific presidential record and for reference information among different records related to the production of presidential records.

The purpose of this study is to design metadata for management and sharing of Yeogu data produced in the ecological field. Specifically, metadata is designed based on DCAT, which is designed to facilitate interoperability between data catalogs published on the web. In addition, ABCD, Darwin Core, and EML were analyzed and applied to metadata design to reflect the characteristics of the ecological field. As a result of the research, a total of 51 metadata elements were derived for managing research data in the ecological field, and 6 essential elements, 23 recommended elements, and 22 optional elements were included. The results of this study can be used to design a DB when building a research data management and sharing system based on metadata elements, and to suggest a metadata exchange format when linking with other systems.

I designed the game UCI identification metadata to enable the game industry to provide copyright protection of game content, the efficiency of the management and distribution. This was mapped with existing UCI metadata which is composed of 9 elements that are applied to international standards for interoperability. I redefined 3 elements and added 3 more elements for reflecting the characteristics of the game. So it is composed of 12 elements in total. The result is verified by the general user survey and expert interviews. And I will develope the game UCI identification metadata management system with the results of study to be utilized by game agencies.

The purpose of this study is to extract metadata based on Dublin Core from national construction information DBs, to design XML schema from the extracted metadata and to apply the previous works to integrated information retrieval system. To extract metadata, co-work was performed with librarians in the field of construction information, and. as a result, twelve metadata elements from Dublin Core and one administrative metadata could be extracted. Based on the investigation and analysis of those thirteen metadata elements, XML schema design process was described in detail. finally, the service environments of integrated information retrieval system to which XML schema was applied was introduced. Further study was also provided.

This research makes the metadata element design for Korean medicine research data management and re-use. Derived metadata elements are verified in research data of Korea Institute of Oriental Medicine. TTAK.K0-10.0976 Standard, DataCite metadata Schema and National Research Data Platform of KISTI were analyzed to derive the metadata elements. Including Identifier, 27 elements were derived as top-level elements with 29 mandatory elements, 13 recommended elements and 31 optional elements. The degree of elements' necessity and new metadata elements were investigated and suggested in the survey by six domain experts in korean medicine field. In this study subject classification for the korean medicine research data are suggested. The final version of metadata schema was tested and verified by comparing with the legacy metadata fields. The research results can be used to describe the Korean medicine research data: items and files.

At this point in time, advertisements data providers have no standard way of organizing advertisements, which has been causing confusion in information-sharing and data research. The purpose of this study is to design of metadata element for TV commercials by analyzing the characteristic features of TV commercials. First, it is to analyze characteristics, production process, composing elements of TV commercials through the literature review. Second, it is to analyze the characteristics of metadata elements on TV-Anytime and PB Core. Third, the 7 cases of advertisements data service providers are analyzed to extract the relevant data elements for TV commercial metadata. Forth, a Dublin Core was selected as basic metadata schema for TV commercial. Basic element is set as nineteen elements including , , , and . Sub-element is set as twenty seven elements. Finally, it is hoped that further studies of greater depth and specificity on organization and management of advertisements data may be undertaken.

본 논문은 다양한 위치 획득 시스템에 따라 다른 형식을 가지는 위치 데이터와 이에 따른 표준의 차이를 해결하기 위해 DMLI(Description Model for Location Information)을 제안한다. DMLI는 다른 형식으로 표현된 위치 데이터에 대한 메타데이터를 재정의 하지 않고, 모두의 의미를 포괄하는 메타데이터로 재분류하는 분류체계 모델이다. DMLI는 시설물(Facility), 장소(Place), 서비스(Service) 요소들로 구성된다. 시설물은 공간을 정의하는 최상위 요소로 공간 사용목적과 용도 및 기능에 따른다. 장소는 시설물을 구성하는 최하위 요소다. 서비스는 장소에서 제공 가능한 서비스를 말한다. 또한 위치관련 메타데이터 요소간의 정보를 정의한 사전을 이용하여 기존의 위치 데이터에 대한 메타데이터 요소를 DMLI에서 제안한 메타데이터 요소로 변환이 가능하다. 사전을 이용함으로서 또 다른 형식의 위치 데이터가 입력되어도 DMLI 형식으로의 변환이 용의하다. DMLI 형식으로 재분류된 위치관련 메타데이터들은 공간 사용 목적과 제공 가능한 서비스를 명확히 표현한다. 또한 위치관련 검색, 통계 등의 서비스를 제공하는 어플리케이션을 통하여 다양하게 응용되어 사용된다.

This study aims to develop metadata elements and vocabularies of 'Chosunsibo' issued in Korea during the Japanese colonial era. Despite the vast amount and historical values, newspaper articles in Chosunsibo are still unsearchable and difficult to access. To the end, this study includes as follows: (1) analyzed the DB construction and metadata elements of newspapers issued in Korea during the Japanese colonial, (2) investigated the morphological characteristics and content of 'Chosunsibo', and (3) derived metadata elements, encoding schemes and controlled vocabularies for 'Chosunsibo'. The final draft was verified in three methods: (1) review and revise through data input tests, (2) consulting by a DB expert agency, and (3) drawing up of crosswalks with metadata standards and related cases. The scope of this study is to design the metadata schema of the historical newspaper 'Chosunsibo' and develop a data input system based on that schema.

This study is aimed to develop standard metadata model and develop elements and present the importance of oral history archives that contrast with literature history. The study analyzed standard metadata description elements that can express contents and forms of oral history archives as information. Furthermore, it designed Project, Management, Record, and metadata modeling as a Related record domain for the sake of building digital oral archives. Finally, the study gave shape to real oral history archives based on basic elements, details, and design principles of division elements.
