KISTI has intended to provide domestic researchers of chemistry and materials with the Inorganic Crystal Structure Database free of charge. Therefore, we construct the database and develop new web-based information searching system with the use of the ICSD data licensed by the FIZ Karlsruhe, Germany. We organize several menus possible to search the structure of crystal in a variety of ways on the web and the search results show not only numerical data of the structure of crystal but also the graphic of X-ray diffraction pattern and the 3-dimension structure of crystal. The data will be updated continuously and the searching system will be improved in order to provide researchers with information easily and swiftly.

오늘날 생물학 데이터베이스 시스템은 끊임없이 증가하고 복잡하게 연결되는 데이터를 처리해야 할 필요성과 데이터양의 증가만큼이나 빨리 성장하는 사용자들의 요구에 부응해야 하는 필요성에 직면해 있다. 이 논문에서는 기존의 생물학 데이터베이스 시스템의 특징을 살펴본 후, 현재 당뇨 관련 데이터베이스가 존재하지 않으므로 당뇨 연구를 위한 포괄적인 정보 제공과 사용의 편의를 제공하기 위하여 생물학 관련 데이터베이스를 교차 참조한 당뇨 연구용 데이터베이스를 설계하였다. 본 논문에서 설계한 데이터베이스는 Genetic Information, Protein Information, In Silico digestion, 그리고 Chemical Information 4개의 메뉴로 구성하였다. Genetic Information과 Protein Information은 Cross-Reference를 통한 관련 데이터베이스와 연결시켰고, Protein Information에서 PDB 코드가 존재할 경우 3차원 분자 구조를 제공한다. 아울러 단백질 동정시에 활용할 수 있는 선택된 효소처리 후의 펩타이드의 이론적 질량값을 계산하도록 구현(In Silico Digestion)하였으며, 당뇨 관련 주요 단백질의 화합물들의 구조를 제공하였다.

본 논문에서는 클러스터 VOD 시스템인 VODCA에 특산품 온라인 쇼핑 시스템을 설계 및 구현한다. VODCA 서버와 클라이언트의 구조 및 특징에 대해 살펴보고, 온라인 쇼핑 시스템의 구조 및 특징에 대해 소개한다. 온라인 쇼핑 시스템은 VODCA 서버의 광고 관리 모듈에 의해 온라인 쇼핑 사이트를 위한 웹서버와 DBMS의 광고 정보를 클라이언트로 전송한다. VODCA 클라이언트의 광고 출력 모듈은 서버로부터 전송받은 광고 정보를 사용자에게 보여준다. 또한 상품 구매 요구를 처리하기 위하여 메뉴 드라이브 방식의 입력 모듈을 구현하였다.

The necessity of developing a rapid dose assessment system has been emphasized for an effective emergency response of mitigation of off-site radiological consequences. A microcomputer program based on a rapid dose assessment model of the off-site radiological consequences is developed for various accdident sinarios for the Nuclear Power Plants in Korea. This model, which is consists of the user answering-question input format as a menu driven method and the output format of table and graphic types, is helpful to decision-making on Emergency Preparedness by being more rapidly able to implement the off-site dose assessment and to interpret the result.

개방망은 망 접속을 표준화하여 망을 접근하도록 하는 technical interface의 공개측면과 망이 가지고 있는 망서비스를 공개하여 사용자로 하여금 선택적으로 이용할 수 있게 해주는 망서비스 공개 측면을 모두 고려하여 망구조를 실현해야 한다. 통신망은 망의 서비스 유형 및 일반적인 기능에 따라 음성급 전화망, 데이터망, 전용선망, 이동통신망 및 위성망으로 구분할 수 있으며, 이에 대한 망 접속은 각 망별로 또한 분류될 수 있다. 망서비스는 기술의 발전과 망진화에 따른 기술적인 요인, 고도통신 사업의 다양화에 다른 사업자 요구에 의한 요인, 그리고 시장수요 요인에 의해 계속 발전.진화되어지는 동적인 것이다. 개방망구조는 망서비스와 기술적인 접속을 주요 내용으로 하고 있기 때문에 이것도 역시 계속 진화되는 것으로 해석해야 한다. 본고에서는 개방망의 서비스 측면에서 해당교환 시스팀이나 전송시스팀이 제공가능한 서비스들로서 개방망구조의 서비스메뉴로 표현할 수 있는 것들을 각 망에 대해 자세히 파악하고자 한다. 이번 호에서는 그 첫번째 내용으로서 음성급 전화망에서 개방망서비스로서 국내 교환시스팀과 미국의 ONA 일환으로 BOC가 제공 가능한 것들을 소개한다. 음성급개방망서비스(Voice Grade Open Network Service)는 크게 가입자선측과 중계선측으로 분류 가능하다. 각 분류후에 1) 국내에서 제공가능한 서비스, 2) 여러 BOC가 공통적으로 보유한 서비스, 3) 특정 BOC가 보유한 서비스로 분류 정리하였다.

The purpose of this study is to establish a Zone-Based Land Use Information System(ZBLIS) using digital topographic maps and public statistics data with a case for Pohang. The Basic Spatial Units(BSUs) used in ZBLIS is the administrative district units(Dong and Lie), and larger or smaller spatial units than this are brought out from BSUs. In the first step, the structure of ZBLIS is constructed to choose Analysis Zone on the top menu, and in subsequent steps, to choose Analysis Categories on sub-menu in terms of dialog windows, and then to choose Analysis Sub-categories and Analysis Theme. The 11 Analysis Categories are consisted of Population, Land Use, Transportation, Industry and Economy etc.. In this case study, it is found that there occur some technical problems in the process of making base-map from digital topographic maps, and inputting attribute data to this base map. For each of these problems, some handling method are recommended.

This paper describes an experiment of concrete and specific group work learning system based on the traditional Jigsaw group work learning model. Jigsaw model has two groups of students such as random group and expert group so that a course can make progress on explaining and lecturing all members of class after each student can be a member of expert group of course topic. We design and implement Web-based training system to support collaboration and Interaction among students of a course based on Jigsaw model The Web- based learning system makes each group going up to the expert level of a course subject by supporting various study menu and provides equal opportunity of improving social abilities such as leadership, communication skill, trust, and trouble-settling by taking part in collaboration activities.

In this study, I would like to suggest an idal model of web navigation design which can enhance users' web usability. I would like to prove that when users enjoy web navigation design, they access information much more effectively. Using a survey, I suggest some types of web navigation design for users. After that, I conducted an experiment with 4 types of web navigation designs, which have been developed to reflect varying stages of comprehensibility. My survey focused on three points. First I measured the time they spent to search for information. Secondly, I tested whether they lost their way while searching for information and if they did lose their way, I checked whether they could recover from their errors and find their way back. Thirdly, I investigated whether layout, location and size of the web navigation design factors affected usability. The results of my survey indicated that users spend the shortest time, have the easiest interface, and have least error incidence under the web navigation design to enhance old-aged users' web usability. Thus, developing a universal web navigation design can encourage people to be more involved with the internet.

$Cd_xZn_{1-x}O$ thin films were grown on quartz substrates by using the sol-gel spin-coating method. The mole fraction, x, of the $Cd_xZn_{1-x}O$ thin films was controlled from 0 to 1 by changes in the content ratio of the cadmium acetate dehydrate [$Cd{(CH_3COO)}_2{\cdot}2H_2O$] and zinc acetate dehydrate [$Zn{(CH_3COO)}_2{\cdot}2H_2O$]. The effects of the mole fraction on the morphological, structural, and optical properties of the $Cd_xZn_{1-x}O$ thin films were investigated by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and UV-visible spectroscopy. The $Cd_xZn_{1-x}O$ thin films exhibited the polygonal surface morphology and their grain size was increased ranging from 42.1 to 63.9 nm with the increase in the mole fraction. It was observed that the absorption bandgap of the $Cd_xZn_{1-x}O$ thin films decreased from 3.25 to 2.16 eV as the mole fraction increased and the Urbach energy ($E_U$) values changed inversely to the optical bandgap of the $Cd_xZn_{1-x}O$ thin films.

This study attempted to investigate users' information needs in an educational research library, which delivers web-based digital reference services to library users, by analyzing reference questions asked by remote users. A total of 242 questions from two electronic bulletin boards was examined in terms of 6 types of questions asked and 23 subareas of education. The study found that 56.1% of reference questions on the library bulletin board were pure reference questions in curriculum, textbooks and teaching & instruction. Suggestions for effective use of digital reference services were made: easy access to menu services, use of web forms, development of digital reference systems providing search functions and response functions.
