A improved back-off algorithm using the gaussian model in the vehicular networks (차량 간 통신에서 가우시안 모델을 적용한 개선된 백오프 알고리즘)

  • When a car accident happened, the accident vehicle should broadcast a safe message to its neighbors in multi-hop. However, the pure flooding is difficult to protect a chain-reaction collision because of the frequent collision and the communication delay. To solve this problem, we proposes a back-off algorithm applied to the estimation of the neighbor node count using the t-distribution. And we proposes a MAC protocol preventing the communication delay by separating the neighbor's count collection channel and data channel. As a result, we show the frame reception success rate of our protocol improved more 10% than the previous protocol.

  • The demand on various broadcasting services has been greatly increasing in the area of mobile communication. In IEEE802.16e standard and mobile WiMAX, the multicast broadcast service (MBS) uses shared downlink channel for efficiently supporting a number of users. In this paper we propose a dynamic modulation and coding scheme with relay network to enhance the performance of MBS. The proposed approach employs the adaptive modulation and coding scheme for both the base station and relay station to achieve consistently high throughput. The result of computer simulation with NS-2 shows that the throughput and transmission time are significantly improved by using the proposed approach compared to the existing schemes having a fixed modulation level for the RSs.

Cross-layer Optimization for Multichannel Multiradio Multisession Wireless Networks with Network Coding (멀티채널 멀티라디오 멀티세션 무선 네트워크를 위한 네트워크 코딩 기반 계층간 최적화 기법)

  • Network coding has been extensively studied to increase the network throughput by exploiting the broadcast and overhearing capabilities. In this paper, we formulate a network utility maximization problem to improve the network utility in multichannel, multiradio and multisession wireless multihop network with intrasession network coding. To find the solution of this problem, we propose a congestion control, distributed rate control, and heuristic resource allocation algorithm. We find the network utility and evaluate the performance in multichannel, multiradio and multisession environment by using MATLAB. Finally, the results show that the proposed schemes can achieve throughput improvement by performing the network utility optimization in wireless multihop network.

  • 본 논문에서는 멀티 홉 무선 네트워크에서 적용 가능한 통합적인 MAC 및 라우팅 프로토콜인 ExOR 의 성능개선을 위한 방안을 제시하였다. ExOR 은 무선 네트워크의 전송이 브로드 캐스트 방식으로 이루어지는 것을 이용하여 기회주의적인 라우팅을 시도함으로써 멀티 홉 무선 네트워크에서 링크의 사용량을 낮추고 쓰루풋을 높일 수 있는 전송 기법이다. 하지만 ExOR 은 멀티 홉 무선 네트워크의 크기가 확장되거나 링크의 전송률이 낮다면 라우팅에 참여하는 노드들의 패킷 전달이 원활하지 않기 때문에 지연시간이 크게 증가하여 성능이 급격히 저하되는 단점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 ExOR 라우팅 프로토콜을 적용 시, 패킷을 전달하는 노드 이외의 다른 노드들이 자기 차례가 되기 전까지 아무 일도 하지 않는다는 점에 착안하여 동시에 2 개 이상의 노드가 패킷을 전달하는 방식을 제안하였다. 본 논문에서는 ExOR 라우팅에 참여하는 노드가 패킷을 전달 할 때, 패킷 간 충돌 및 간섭을 최소로 할 수 있는 2 개 이상의 다른 노드를 선택하여 동시에 패킷 전송을 시도하는 방식으로 지연시간을 줄이고, 쓰루풋을 향상시키는 것을 시뮬레이션을 통하여 확인하였다.

  • Vehicular ad-hoc networks is temporarily established through inter-vehicle communication without any additional infrastructure aids. It requires a immediate message propagation because it mainly deals with critical traffic information such as traffic accidents. The distance-based broadcast scheme is one of the representative broadcast schemes for vehicular ad-hoc network. In this scheme, a node to disseminate messages is selected based on a distance from a source node. However, a message propagation delay will be increased if the relay nodes are not placed at the border of transmission range of the source node. In particular, when the node density is low, the message propagation delay is getting longer. In this paper, we propose a time-window reservation based relay node selection scheme. A node receiving the alert message from the source node has its time-window and randomly selects its waiting time within the given time-window range. A proportional time period of the given time-window is reserved in order to reduce the message propagation delay. The experimental results show that the proposed scheme has shorter message propagation delay than the distance-based broadcast scheme irrespective of node density in VANET. In particular, when the node density is low, the proposed scheme shows about 26% shorter delay and about 46% better performance in terms of compound metric, which is a function of propagation latency and network traffic.

  • As a broadcast message authentication method in wireless sensor networks, ${\mu}$TESLA enables sensor nodes efficiently authenticate message from base station (BS). However, if we use ${\mu}$TESLA that has very short length of key slot in unattended wireless sensor network (UWSN), sensors may calculate a huge amount of hashs at once in order to verify the revealed secret key. In contrast, if we set the length of ${\mu}$TESLA's key slot too long in order to reduce the amount of hashs to calculate, BS should wait out the long slot time to release key. In this paper, we suggest variable key slot ${\mu}$TESLA in order to mitigate the problem. As showing experiment results, we prove that our suggestion improve sensor node's response time and decrease of number of hash function calculation.

A hybrid-vehicular communication systems using a gaussian model for sending a safe message (안전 메시지 전달을 위해 가우시안 모델을 적용한 하이브리드 차량 통신 시스템)

Also, there is a problem that the estimation accuracy is low because of the memory limit from increasing the sampling count. In this paper, we proposes a HVC systems using a back-off algorithm applied to a gaussian model. And we proposes a MAC protocol preventing the communication delay by separating the neighbor count collection channel, data channel, and RSU communication channel. As a result, we show the frame reception success rate of our protocol improved about 10% than the previous protocol.

  • ${\mu}TESLA$ is well known as the most representative energy-efficient broadcast authentication method. Until now, there are many researches that figure out the problems or limitation of ${\mu}TESLA$ and mitigate or solve them, but most researches have been verified in the environment far from the real world. We consider the necessity of verifying what the real efficiency of ${\mu}TESLA$ is. In this paper, we assume that sensors that continuously repeat hibernation and activity perform communication under the UWSN(Unattended WSN), which BS does not stay in the network. In this environment, we newly inspect the performance of ${\mu}TESLA$ by performing various simulations.

  • 최근 유비쿼터스 기술이 급속도로 발전함에 따라 많은 application들이 다양한 환경에서 통신서비스를 요구하고 있다. 이를 지원하기 위하여 많은 무선 센서 네트워킹 기술들이 제안되었지만 제한된 대역쪽과 높은 에러율로 인하여 이동성을 지원하기에는 부족하였다. 특히, 경로를 획득하기 위한 Route Request (RREQ)의 잦은 브로드캐스트 과정은 오히려 혼잡 및 에너지 소모를 야기시키며 네트워크 성능을 저하시키는 문제점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 언제, 어디서나 다양한 토폴로지 환경에서 자가 구성이 가능하며, 이동성을 지원하는 Tree기반의 Self-Routing 기법을 제안한다. 기존의 센서 네트워크내 멀티홉 라우팅 프로토콜과는 달리, 라우터 혹은 싱크노드의 비컨 프레임내 Association 정보만을 이용하여 새로운 라우팅 테이블을 형성함으로써 컨트롤 패킷의 오버 헤드를 크게 줄일 수 있다. 성능 평가를 위하여 실제 모바일 로봇을 이용한 실험과 시뮬레이션을 동시에 하였으며, 기존의 기법보다 향상된 성능을 가짐을 보인다.

The AODV Routing Protocol based on Location Information for Inter-Vehicle Communication (차량간 통신을 위한 위치 정보 기반의 AODV 라우팅 프로토콜)

  • In order to realize Intelligent Transport System (ITS) without any road facilities support, Inter-vehicle Communication (IVC) is increased attention. IVC makes it possible to exchange real-time information among vehicles without centralized infrastructure. The IVC systems use multi-hop broadcast to disseminate information. In this paper, we propose the improved AODV routing protocol based on location information. The proposed AODV routing protocol transmits Hello packet with location information to calculate the distance between nodes. Then it achieves fast link recovery. We confirm the throughput performance of the proposed AODV routing protocol compared with the AODV routing protocol using Qualnet ver.3.8 simulator.
