Evaluation of Ultimate Strength of Shear Connection in Steel Embedded Composite Girders (강재매입형 합성거더 전단연결부의 극한강도 평가)

  • In composite girders with steel embedded in concrete as preflex beams, horseshoe connectors and bar connectors are commonly used to achieve composite action. Considering the requirements on the concrete cover in the thin concrete part surrounding a steel member, it has limitations with respect to the use of stud shear connectors, and significant bond and friction resistance can be generated. High horizontal shear strength between the casing concrete and the steel section is needed to introduce prestress to the concrete section in the form of preflex beams.In this paper, experiments on the evaluation of the static strength of horseshoe connectors and bar connectors were conducted and the effects of bonds were also considered. Based on the test results, current design codes were estimated and more general design guidelines that consider the design concept of Eurocode were proposed for the connectors. A strength evaluation according to failure and compared with the test results.

  • The fully embedded composite truss beam is developed based on composite member, truss system before composite and beam system after composite. The proper design concept and method of the fully embedded composite truss beam are discussed. A bending test on the fully embedded composite truss beam with span length 25.0m is carried out to investigate the flexural behavior and ultimate strength of the developed structure up to failure. A good agreement between the measured and predicted results are observed.

  • Owing to Higher story tendency and ceiling hight restriction of recent times, even though the depth of Coupling Beam decreases the demand efficiency is coming to be high rather so it is the difficult to satisfy a demand efficiency with the actual existing RC/Steel condition. It has been researched a lot of methods as an alternative plan about these but designer cannot apply them for the reason ; the structure standard and theory background are not taking a triangular position. As accomplishing the test research about the beams-wall connections department of steel-plate composite coupling beams from the research in the study it examines closely the beams-wall connections conduct quality and tries to provide the fundamental data for reasonable and optimum connection department designs. It knows that connection fixation degree and composite conduct degree of member part together become the important variable showing an energy dissipation ability in Test result.

  • Recently hybrid beam system is widely used because it has many structural advantages such as short construction period and low story height etc. Generally steel wide flange beam exposure type and embedded type hybrid beams are constructed. Even though exposure hybrid beam is easily constructed, the fire proofing protection process is necessary because steel wide flange beam cannot resist to fire itself. Story height reduction type hybrid beam, which is introduced hybrid beam in this paper, does not need fire proofing protection process because it is constructed as a fully embedded type hybrid beam. Developed construction process and actual construction cases of story height reduction type hybrid beam were introduced in this study.
