Parametric Study in Design of Coat-Hanger Die (옷걸이형 다이의 설계에서 매개 변수의 영향)

  • 매니폴로 부분이 선형 경사진 옷걸이형 다이의 최적 설계를 수행하였다. 다이흐름을 3차원 이용하여 해석함으로써 정확한 최적 설계결과를 얻을수 있었으며 형상 최적화 과정을 고찰함으로써 최적 설계도구의 효율성을 조사하였다. 공정의여러 매개변수들이 매니폴드의 형상에 미치는 영향을 조사하기 위하여 멱법칙 유체의 멱법칙 지수, 다이 슬롯의 두께 및 매니폴드 각도를 변화시켜며 최적 설계를 수행하였다.

  • 연료전지의 성능을 결정짓는 가장 중요한 변수 중의 하나는 각 스택의 채널에 얼마나 균일하게 연료를 공급할 수 있느냐이다. 본 연구에서는 네 가지의 모델을 사용하여 연료전지 매니폴드 형상에 따른 최적 설계를 수행하였다. 위 네 가지 모델은 각기 다른 기하학적 형상을 가지며 Edison CFD를 이용하여 형상 내의 유동을 비교하였다. 초기 모델에서는, 입구부에서 매니폴드로 유입되는 유동의 확산이 잘 일어나지 않아 각 채널의 질량유량이 불균일한 분포를 보였으며 특히 속도가 빠른 중심 영역의 채널에 많은 연료가 유입되었다. 이를 위한 디퓨져 모델링이 제안되었으며 실속이 최소한도로 발생할 때 채널당 질량유량이 가장 균일하다고 가정하였다. 이를 위해 다양한 디퓨져 각을 가진 모델을 사용했고, 이론상으로 실속이 발생하지 않는 형상에서 가장 균일한 분포를 보임을 확인하였다.

Comparison of Injection Uniformity as the Dividing Plate Installation in Fuel Manifold (연료 매니폴드내의 분리판 장착에 따른 분사균일성 비교)

  • The injection uniformity of the fuel manifold in a liquid rocket engine has been analyzed with dividing plates to improve the cooling performance at the face plate. Three dimensional computational fluid dynamics analysis has been performed to compare the injection uniformity for 5 candidate designs and has been verified to compare with the measured data for the optimal manifold design. For the case I and II, the coolant mass flux increases as the whole working fluid is enforced to flow under the dividing plate. The injection uniformity decreases due to the variation of mass flux at the end of dividing plate and the concentration of mass flow rate at the center of manifold. However case III and IV have uniform injection performance due to reduced mass flux concentration as the coolant can flow along both upper passage and lower passage of the dividing plate. Among the candidate designs, case IV is thought to be the optimal dividing plate with regard to cooling performance and injection uniformity.

  • Butyl rubber is used as an adhesive and it is mainly used in the form of sheets. The goal of this study is to design an extrusion die for the butyl rubber sheets using computer simulation. The extrusion die for the butylrubber sheets consists of manifold area and land area. In the manifold area, flows are spread from the entrance of the extrusion die to the land area. In the land area, flows become stable to the flow direction and uniform sheet can be obtained. Island area is being installed in the land area to get uniform flow. Four parameters, angle of manifold, length of manifold, length of land and island, were examined in the computer simulation. The optimum geometry of the extrusion die is derived which has a uniform flow in the width direction of the die.

A Convergent Study on Durability over the Exhaust Manifold Shape of Medium-sized Car (중형 자동차의 배기매니폴드 형상에 따른 내구성에 관한 융합 연구)

  • In this study, the configurations of the two engine exhaust manifolds were designed. And the strengths and durabilities were analyzed through the structural analysis and natural frequency analyses of these models. As the result of structural analysis, the strength of model A is much better than that of model B because the maximum stress and deformation of model B are considerably greater than those of model A by more than 9 and 39 times, respectively. It can also be confirmed that model A has the durability better than model B because the maximum frequency of model A is greater than the natural frequency of model B and its maximum deformation is smaller than model B. The result of this study can be used to investigate the durability due to the exhaust manifold shape of medium-sized car without actual test. It also seems to be helpful in the aesthetic convergent design of small car muffler.

  • An optimal fuel manifold is suggested to improve the cooling performance of an injector face plate. The cooling performance at the center area of the injector face plate is to be augmented while the spatial injection uniformity is maintained. The comparison of the cooling performance of f candidates gives the conclusion that the dividing plate from 2-3 injector .ow to 9-10 injector. row is an optimal. The maximum face plate temperature decreases by 27$\%$ while the injection uniformity is close to that of the original design. The pressure drop in the fuel manifold of the optimal design is also same as the original design.

  • A numerical analysis on the uniformity of propellant injection velocity of KSR-III has been carried out to give design improvements. Injector holes were approximated as porous media with the same pressure drop . The injection velocity is higher at the opposite side of the inlet for both LOX and fuel due to the static pressure rise in the stagnation region. Flow passages at the vertical circular plate in the LOX dome increase the uniformity of LOX injection. Little change was observed in the injection uniformity and pressure drop for the slanted LOX passage. Also provided were the O/ F ratio distributions from the oxidizer/ fuel injection velocity analysis.

  • 본 논문에서는 디스트리뷰션 인테그랄 서브매니폴드에 의하여 표현되는 마찰이 없는 면을 따라 강체 로봇 매니퓰레이터의 모션 제어에 대한 새로운 힘.위치 제어법칙은 힘/위치가 제어되는 방향으로 투영된 앤드 이팩트의 비선형 항을 정확하게 상쇄하도록 설계하였으며, 미분기하학을 이용하여 스무스 디스트리뷰션의 인테그랄 서브매니폴드 상에서의 새로운 모션 방정식을 제안하고 제안된 힘/위치 제어법칙에 대한 타당성을 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 통하여 검증한다.

Basic Design of Deep Subsea Manifold Frame Structure for Oil Production (심해저 원유 생산용 매니폴드 프레임 구조 기본 설계)

  • Amanifold is one of the essential subsea oil and gas production components to simplify the subsea production layout. It collects the production fluid from a couple of wellheads, transfers it to onshore or offshore storage platforms, and even accommodates water and gas injection flowlines. This paper presents the basic design procedure for a manifold frame structure with novel structural verification using in-house unity check codes. Loads and load cases for the design of an SIL 3 class-manifold are established from a survey of relevant industrial codes. The basic design of the manifold frame is developed based on simple load considerations such as the self weights of the manifold frame and pipeline system. In-house software with Eurocode 3 embedded, called INHA-SOLVER, makes it possible to carry out code checks on the yield and buckling unities. This paper finally proves that the new design of the manifold frame structure is effective to resist a permanent and environment load, and the in-house code is also adaptively combined with the commercial finite element code Nastran.

  • This paper presents the design technique of output multiplexer(OMUX) for the Ka-band satellite transponder. Output multiplexer consists of low-pass filter(LPF), channel filter and manifold. Channel filters adopt dual-mode technique in design for mass and volume reduction and frequency response of channel filters is 4-pole elliptic response for high frequency selectivity. w-pass filters are designed to be of 13th order corrugated type for high rejection characteristic over reception band of satellite transponder. After initial design of channel filters and manifold, we optimized only a few design parameters for fast and easy optimization instead of optimizing all the design parameter. Measured results of a realized output umltiplexer for Ka-band satellite transponder show good agreement with the computed ones.
