In the course of execution for Inventories and Management of Plant Resources of Korea, We found new habitats of 4 plant species which distribution ranges are obscure and/or extremely restricted. A subtropical fern distributed in Jeju-do, Woodwardia japonica (L. f.) Sm., was found in Mt. Gambang-san of Hampyeong-gun, Jeollanam-do. A saprophytic orchid, Galeola septentrionalis Reichb., was found in Mt. Ggachi-bong of Boseong-gun, Jeollanam-do. Peristrophe japonica (Thunb.) Bremek., known in Jeollanam-do, was newly found in Mt. Mudeung-san of Gwangju-si. Viburnum furcatum Blume mainly distributed in Jeju-do and Ulleung-do was found in Mt. Jabyeong-san of Gangneung-si, Gangwon-do.
The aim of this study is to compare and analyze plant monitoring results of 2012 and 2013 for three artificial wetlands of Binae, Sedo, and Okpo areas in Namhan river, Keum river, and Nakdong river respectively. As the results, the Binae wetland in 2013 shows the same environment with 2012, that is, Willow and Common reed were dominant and the distributed plants in the wetland were Phragmites japonica Steud, Carex dispalta Boott, and Humulus japonicus in lowland of river side. Especially, Humulus japonicus was increased in summer season and Willow was increased in lowland of 초원. In Okpo wetland, Water chestnut was appeared in 2013 which it was not in 2012. Reed distribution was reduced in 2013 comparing to 2012 but Pussy willow distribution was not changed in 2013. In Sedo wetland, Secondary grassland was artificially planted in 2013 and so the colony was changed to Chinese Lespedeza and also most of plant colony was changed to Colt's-tail. Therefore, we can know that wetted transition rather than dried transition will be occurred in the Binae wetland. However, the Okpo wetland has monotonic change and so the transition will be proceeded with long time. The Sedo wetland showed wetted and dried transitions exist together. Therefore, the wetland will be changed to Reeds, Common reed, and Willow colonies.

The experiment was carried out to investigate weed occurrence in peony field. The number of weeds was Compositate 9 species, Gramineae 4 species, Craciferae 3 species, Eugarviaceae, Polygonaceae and Scrophularilaceae 2 species, respectively. Weeds classified by life cycle were annual weed 19 species (57.6%), biennial weed 8 species (24.2%), and perennial weed 6 species (18.2%). Weed species and dominance rate by morphological characteristics were grass weed 4 species (12.1%), broad leaf weed 25 species (84.8%), and sedge weed 1 species (3.1 %) . Major dominant weeds were Capsella bursa-pastoris, Chemopodium album var. centrorubrum and Equisetum arvense in late April, and Digitaria sanguinalis, Erigeron canadensis and Echinochlor crus-galli in late June, and Digitaria sanguinalis, Erigeron canadensis and Echinochlor crus-galli in middle August.
Soil temperature was higher in clear or blue polyethylene film and bare soil than in black or green polyethylene film and straw mulching. Light transmission was low in black, blue or green colored polyethylene film and straw mulching. Germination of weeds was generally high under clear polyethylene film but black polyethylene film inhibited the germination. Germination of Portulaca oleracea, Setaria viridis and Amaranthus retroflexus increased under blue polyethylene film but inhibition of germination was observed in Erigeron canadensis, Avena fatua, Chenopodium ablum, Digitaria sanguinalis and Echinochloa crusgalli. Green polyethylene film mostly inhibited germination of weeds except A, fatua, C. album and E. canadensis. The greatest number of weeds emerged was obtained in clear polyethylene film, next in bare soil but green or blue polyethylene film inhibited the emergence of weeds. However, no emergence of weeds was observed under black polyethylene film. The highest dry weight of weeds was obtained in clear polyethylene film, next in bare soil, but green or blue polyethylene film and straw mulching caused suppression of weed growth. No weeds were grown under black polyethylene film.
Silkworm(Bombix mori) were reared with modified artificial diets which were mixed with, as additives, leaf powders of Erigeron canadensis L., Cassia tora L., Cyperus anuricus Var.Laxus and Vigna Sinensis NEDL. The effects of additives on silkworm characteristisc of tested plants were summarized as follows ; 1. About 2-5% addition on dry weight base of leaf powders of E. canadensis, C. tora, C. anuricus or V.sinensis to the basic artificial diet promoted feeding response and digestion and resulted in good practical silkworm characteristics. The addition of V.sinensis and C.anuricus showed especially good effects. 2. The syneristic effect between different plant species was not recognized based on the feeding response and digestion of silkworm reared with various combinations of 2-4 different plant additives. 3. Electrophoretic zymograms of estrase, protease and phosphatase on haemolymph, intestine and silkgland were significantly different among treatments. In general, 1 or 2 more electrophoretic bands were detected when feeding response and digestion were promoted. 4. Contents of starch, crude fat, crude protein and inorganic base were apparently higher in the tested plants than in mulberry leaves. However, no volatile ingredent which is directly realted with feeding response was identified.

Investigation on weed flora in Angelica gigas upland fields was conducted to understand the current status of the weed flora and establish the control measures. Investigation was conducted twice, July and October in 2015. From this investigation, 105 species of 37 families including 27 exotics were identified and classified into 53 species of annuals, 24 species of biennials and 28 species of perennials. Dominance was the highest with Digitaria ciliaris, followed by Portulaca loeracea, Chenopodium album, Cyperus iria, Conyza canadensis, Galinsoga ciliata etc. in order. Chenopodium album was the highest in importance analysis and the followings were in order of Conyza canadensis, Galinsoga ciliata, Amaranthus lividus, Taraxacum offcinale etc. The yield of A. gigas was reduced 49.6% in no weeding plots comparing in weed managed plots.
Investigation on weed flora in Lycium chinense upland fields was conducted to understand the current status of weed flora and establish the control measures. Investigation was conducted twice, May and June on 2015. From this investigation, 91 species of 30 families including 27 exotics were identified into 36 species of annuals, 28 species of biennials and 27 species of perennials. Dominance was the highest with Portulaca loeracea followed by Digitaria ciliaris, Stellaria media, Oxalis corniculata, Acalypha australis, Chenopodium album, Cyperus iria etc. in order. Chenopodium album was the highest in importance analysis and the followings were in order of Conyza canadensis, Conyza bonariensis, Senecio vulgaris, Amaranthus lividus, Sonchus asper etc.
Phytophagous insects were surveyed from field populations of Compositae weeds in the order Campanulales. Forty five insect species including unidentified ones of 43 genera in 5 orders and 17 families were recorded from 16 species in 12 genera of Compositae weeds. The hemipterans and coleopterans were the most abundant insects representing 13 and 13 species, repectively. Aphids and leaf beetles were important phytophagous insects on Compositae weeds. The potential biological control insects were Uromelan gobonis and Aethes cnicana on Cirsium japonicum var. ussuriensis and Cryptosiphum artemisiae on Artemisia lavandulaefolia. The leaf beetles, Chrysolina aurichalcea, Longitarsus succineus, Basilepta fulvipes, and Hamushia konishii were often collected from A. lavandulaefolia. Aphids and leaf beetles showed host specificities. The roles of hemipterans collected from the flowers of A. lavandulaefolia and Erigeron canadensis were questionable.

In order to investigate the potential characteristics of horseweed (Erigeron canadensis L.) recognized with weeds for the application to food industry, the antioxidative properties of horseweed were measured with total polyphenol, flavonoid, tannin, chlorophyll contests and antioxidant activities. Total polyphenol, flavonoid, tannin, and chlorophyll content were 63.32, 27.71, 161.19, and 428.85 mg/g in the extracts of fresh horseweed (FHE), respectively. The extracts of dry horseweed (DHE) on $40^{\circ}C$ for 48 hr were 89.25, 33.44, 210.44, and 229.29 mg/g, and the extracts of dry horseweed after blanching (BDHE) were 115.49, 45.51, 252.54, and 283.07 mg/g, respectively. $IC_{50}$ of EDA (electron donating ability, %) and AEAC (L-ascorbic acid equivalent antioxidant capacity) were 5.5527 mg/mL and 192.78 mg AA eq/g sample in the FHE, respectively. The DHE were 0.4710 mg/mL and 194.05 mg AA eq/g sample, and the BDHE were 0.4135 mg/mL and 242.40 mg AA eq/g sample, respectively. Horseweed, where the antioxidant activity is excellent, is thought to be potentially useful with foodstuffs.
